I want to replace a mexican made CPU with a more reliable type. I found a vendor on Ebay which sells CPUs which are labeled "C014806-35 (C) Atari 1980" without any additional vendor or logo. Does anybody knows if this is a good batch?
I use it in my 800XE with a Rapidus card. It works very well, although it overheats a lot. So I bought a Fischer Elektronik ICK40B radiator and Thermalright Extreme II 85x45x1mm 14.8W thermal pad.

I don't remember explicitly doing this but maybe someone uploaded one of my conversions at one point. Cool.
That was me.

Yesterday I finally managed how to fix this game. ?
You need the unLZ4ed version from Baktra (46030 bytes long). Change 6 bytes in the offsets listed below to $01.
- $0611 (there is an address $D3FD)
- $0628 ($D3F9)
- $361C ($D3F5)
- $3624 ($D3F1)
- $676F ($D3ED)
- $6798 ($D3E9).
There is a certain regularity. As you can see, the address is decreased by 4 bytes with each subsequent occurrence.Do you want this version to be different from the basic one? Then edit the data in the locations below:
- $6252 - $FF $FF $FF to $D5 $D5 $C5
- $625A - $FF $FF $FF to $13 $11 $53. -

Here is quotation of Candle (still unanswered)...
QuoteU1MB makes use of addresses from D380 to D3FF, even if only few registers are defined in current specification, rest is RESERVED FOR FUTURE USE, and should be treated as such
PORTB and PIA chip is not mapped into this address space at all
xxl deliberatly makes use of that reserved address space excluding group of 3000+ atari computers (as i was told) to run his software - bravo
just keep in mind this is also the case with Incognito equipped machines
there is limited address space inside atari, and having to waste 256 bytes of space just to map hardware that has 4 locations is wastefull, but understandable from the point of original designers - full address decoder costs, per unit, and every penny counts
U1MB reuses that wasted space - in current implementation only partially, but i rather have some space to grow, than squeeze it in the beggining and worry later how to add something new like DMA or whatever i would come with
the game uses compressed executable? really? what for? to load slower?

Why doesn't it just get put on pigwa?
I just uploaded it here http://ftp.pigwa.net/stuff/collections/Atari%208bit%20Preserved%20Software%202019-02-03

Is it possible to add support for more than one FAT partition on the SD card? There are three partitions on my card: APT 2 GB, FAT16 2 GB and FAT32 ~3,2 GB. AVGCart sees only first FAT16 partition.
Awesome work!

And one for me.

I would like to get one AVGcart, too.

Is it possible to add an emulation of The!Cart cartridges (32, 64 and 128 MB) to Ultimate Cart? It would be great to listen music from this thread on the real Atari computer.

Ok, my fault. I have incorrectly converted the source file.

I think it's too many zeros in this dump... ca. 2 kilobytes. Hm... Two zeros are added to the every 20 bytes. O_o Very odd.

@phaeron: you can download it from here: https://pastebin.com/B2kBEdRL
It was possible to convert hex to binary file.

Please add Pasiu (a.k.a Michał Pasiecznik). He is a creator of Rapidus, Evie, IDEa interface, SIMMexp, Atari Real Clock (ARC) and many other devices.

I'm interested in testing the RC firmware.

Avery, I know you are busy and don't know if you spotted this thread re a new updated VAPI change
It would be great if a8rawconv would support enhanced ATX format...
-
On a related note - anyone have any ideas how to get a .CAS file out of this? I'm not getting anywhere close with a8cas/wav2cas...
I converted this WAV to CAS using a8cas-convert by Krótki, cleaned with Notepad++, then I extracted data to binary file using Turgen System by Baktra. Finally, I added $FF $FF header with HexEdit.
Here you are...

Mine arrived on Tuesday. Thank you, MacRorie!
Sally CPU C014806-35
in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Posted
This version of Sally is very stable and the only downside is the high temperature. I use it with Rapidus, Ultimate 1MB (first version from Candle), VBXE v2.1 and Evie (prototype sound card by Pasiu). IDE Plus rev.F, SIDE1, Ultimate Cart, AVG Cart (the first version with a black and white sticker) also work without any problems. Motherboard is C103579-001 Rev.1.
