  1. I think the one on the left is from a company called Tommee or something. It says Sega Genesis model one on the packaging. I looked on eBay and most of the model 1 AV cables look like this one. I hope I didn't do any damage by trying this cable. I'm going to give the Retro-bit cable a try I guess. Thanks for the info.
  2. So even if I have a mono cable I can still get stereo from the audio jack? Could I just plug in my soundbar through the headphone jack?
  3. I recently acquired a Genesis model and I can't seem to find a composite cable with stereo. Considering the model 1's audio is better, you would think stereo cables would be easy to find. I guess not though. If anybody could point me in the right direction let me know.
  4. This morning I was playing a game when I noticed a smudge on my CRT. I wiped it with a damp clothe with my right hand, my left hand holding the controller got zapped. The controller no longer works. Could this have damaged my console or did it just fry my controller? I've never heard of this happening but it happened.
  5. I noticed the PSU you linked is 2000mA, not 850mA. Does that make any difference?
  6. I'll try the PSU you linked. In the mean time I'm going to have to use my old model 1 adapter. Thanks for the heads up.
  7. I like the idea of replacing these old power adapters with newer adapters don't get me wrong. But the ones you linked were 9VDC. The super Famicom is 10VDC. I'm sure that they work, but I would be more likely to buy them if they were the right voltage. I primarily use an FX pak pro which draws more power than a normal cartridge. I'll look around and see if I can find an adapter with the recommended voltage.
  8. I don't understand why you think I'm confused about the voltage the system uses. My question was concerning the setting with the step down converter. Anyways I believe it is 10vDC. I'd rather play safe than sorry with this old equipment. I have been using a model 1 adapter for the time being. It works but I'd like to use the original adapter personally.
  9. If I'm stepping down from 110v to 100v do I set the input voltage on the back of the unit to 110v? Then plug into the 100v side?
  10. Could you send me a link to this step down converter? The one I bought from amazon has the wrong outlet on the Japan side.
  11. I've been using a model 1 Genesis adapter for about a week now and it works fine. It is 10v DC. Some model 1 power supplies are 9v if I'm not mistaken.
  12. The ac adapter for my super Famicom has been heating up when I play my Sega Genesis. They share the same power strip, but I don't understand why my SFC adapter is getting hot when I'm not even playing it. Is this a common occurrence?
  13. I just got my SFC today, and I plugged it in using a Genesis model 1 PSU. It is rated for 10v so it more closely resembles the original adapter. It is working well and not running hot. I am slightly concerned about the extra 20v. I don't know if that is an issue in the long run.
  14. I have a 9v center negative power supply for a model 1 Sega genesis. Should I just use that? It is rated AC 100-245V 60hz Output DC9V-850mA. Its a new power supply.
