  1. Sorry, but that's just plain wrong. If you know how, you can get past the first screen. Just read the manual first Btw: I really love that thread! Fond memories of the great Videopac vs 2600 fights, and even greater Atari XL vs C64 fights. I really didn't expect that those would be still possible today!
  2. Gerald Kloos, a German collector friend, interviewed Gary Kato, the programmer of the Intellvision version of Demon Attack. If anyone cares - the interview is on my Classic Consoles Center website: www.dieterkoenig.at/ccc/
  3. Can't await it And remember: I have photos of you, too!!
  4. Hey Videopac fans! After Videopac 63+ Flash Point, which we released on cartridge in fall of 2004, we did it again: Videopac 64 SHARK HUNTER is available on cart NOW! Take a look at our website to learn more about the game, its history, ordering info, owner's list, etc. http://www.dieterkoenig.at/ccc/ Here is some IMPORTANT additional ordering info: As the PAL version of Shark Hunter would NOT run on NTSC machines, we made separate PAL and NTSC carts. We will probably produce 100 copies of Shark Hunter (70 PAL and 30 NTSC), but at this time only 36 PAL copies are available. Those will be sold on a first come first serve basis. If you want an NTSC copy, or if you are not one of the lucky 36 persons to get a PAL copy from the first batch, you can however reserve your copy now: the remaining 34 PAL copies and the 30 NTSC copies will probably be available in April 2006. Happy Videopac gaming! Dieter from Classic Consoles Center
  5. My favorite ist the Odyssey2/Videopac version of Tutankham. For sure the most simple one, but I love it
  6. Nonsense. DK has an obvious objective besides being a high score game: get to the girl. It's easy to figure out what is happening and why. PAP is a high score game only. Going thru the doorway changes nothing in terms of game play. Without reading the book, it's mess of just breaking rocks and grabbing random crap for no apparent reason. It doesn't hold a candle to DK in any shape or form. Even the VCS version of DK. 880149[/snapback] And I say PAP is far superior to 2600 DK ... you have to get into it ... But maybe it's just a matter of taste I think it is a pity that the four Parker games weren't released in the US (well in fact there were at least six but only four were released). They are all good to great imo. Frogger and Q*Bert just kick ass, Popeye is very nice and Super Cobra, well has also a special charm
  7. Right now I am auctioning the two Vectrex 3D games Crazy Coaster and Narrow Escape, both complete in box and in top condition. Also a Vectrex machine with manuals, screen overlay, catalogs, etc. And 11 other Vectrex games, also complete in box in top condition, and 3 different Vectrex catalogs. http://cgi6.ebay.com/ws/ebayISAPI.dll?View...0&userid=ccc--- If the link above does not work, please search for user ID "ccc---" on ebay. Thanks for looking!
  8. The final series of the former Odyssey3 prototype game FLASH POINT is now available on cart for the Philips G7400 Videopac+ computers. Including this series, 100 copies have been made and no more will be made in the future, so take your chance The game comes with cart, original style label, original style instructions, original style box inlay for Videopac+ boxes, an info card about the author Rex Battenberg, and a simple wooden joystick holder (the game plays like Robotron, you can use two joysticks!). The price is 29 Euro. More info on the game and how to order at www.dieterkoenig.at/ccc/ Thanks for reading.
  9. As my son and me finished Donkey Kong Country 2 on the SNES just two weeks ago, I got him (and me!!!) Donkey Kong Country 3 now
  10. Just wanted to let everybody know, that the second batch of 30 Flash Point carts has been finished now. 23 of them are already sold, so 7 copies are available right now. As I think that the second batch will be sold out within the next 2 - 3 weeks, a third batch of 30 copies will probably be made in January.
  11. Ah, sorry, I can see it now. The pic took so long to load
  12. Spiderman would be a nice cart release too, I agree. Again, that prototype was found by a Dutch collector, and he wants to release one or two other games before Spidey
  13. Hehe, I will forward that to BuckyB btw: Should you ever have spare issues of Electronic Games, I'd be interested badly!!!
  14. Thanks for your kind words guys! Yesterday I had a long chat conversation with BuckyB, and hopefully we will soon see the release of another Videopac game
  15. The rumored Odyssey3 prototype FLASH POINT is now available on cart for the Videopac+ and Jopac game computers as Videopac 63+. Check out www.dieterkoenig.at/ccc/ for more info. There is also an introduction to the game, a review, an interview with the author Rex Battenberg, and the BIN file for download to play on O2EM.
  16. Added those too now, thanks It seems that there was a fifth title in development, as the XL/XE Atarisoft titles have the catalog numbers DXF54013, DXF54015, DXF54016 and DXF54017.
  17. Thanks for all the info here, guys. I have updated my FAQ now (changed the C64 and VIC20 rarity ratings, and added Cameleon for XL/XE).
  18. Hey ziller, great to hear from you again! Well, all those new game have been found in Europe, and we passed the info to Marcelo in Brazil And the Pleieiaedies pix ... well, I think I could indeed spend some time on them next w/e!
  19. I emailed René van den Enden on this, and he has a modified version that only flickers on the top few lines only. Much better on the eyes. Not sure how it could be fixed totally though. I think you know him - you could ask him to post his modified version on your site. I am always in contact with Rene, he is already working on a solution, tho it is pretty difficult, as there seem to be many commands executed in the vertical blank - and the vertical blank in NTSC has only 1/3 of the time of PAL. I'll keep you updated.
  20. Thanks for the info. Before we will release it on cart, we will try to patch it so that it will run on NTSC too, or maybe we will release PAL and NTSC versions. In the meantime the only possibility will probably be to play it on the emu. Please keep me updated!
  21. Regarding JR's post, I agree: Well there were a lot of really primitive, graphically bad, strange titles on the O2/Videopac. But seen from the point of view of the early 80s, these were the first video games we knew. Here in Austria the Videopac was very popular, and I think it sold better than the 2600, Intellivision and Colecovision, because it was cheaper and it had great support due to a big official Videopac club. The other systems didn't have that support from their manufacturers. There was for example no Austrian Atari club, you could join the German club, but that was not the same. That's why the Videopac was so popular here. Many people knew only the Videopac, and even those strange, primitive games like Secret Of the Pharaohs, A Labyrinth game, Take The Money And Run, Table Football, etc. etc. ... those games were fun, because it was something completely new. The joy of playing them did of course not last so long as for the really good Videopac titles, but still, they brought some time of fun. From today's point of view they are strange, primitive, as I said, but back then they also had some kind of charm, as JR said.
  22. Frogger: It's true, I found out by chance just yesterday. I sorted all my O2 BIN files new in the emu, and of course I ended up playing some of them, heh. I accidently started the Brazil version of Frogger, I noticed it because it writes something different instead of "Hi Score", and watching this, I noticed that the frog in the title screen twinkles! I thought "dammit I played Frogger so often but never noticed that". So I started the Euro version, and that unfriendly frog does NOT twinkle! Trackballs: I was wondering too, since the first one of them has been discovered - it was complete in box, but only THREE have been found? That doesn't fit together. Would be fantastic if Matt had any contacts that could bring a little light in that thing. On the other hand: It is very funny that they released a trackball for the O2, when there was not a single trackball game. I mean, I bet that there are some games that are nice to play with the trackball, but WHY did they release a trackball for the O2? Maybe they had any information, that a few trackball games are in development??? We haven't found any so far, but who knows ...???
