  1. You are right, MANY of them suck, even in my opinion, and I am an extrem Videopac freak since Christmas 1982 My favorites are Stone Sling (Smithereens), Munchkin, Quest For The Rings, Pickaxe Pete, Turtles, Atlantis, and all of the five Parker games, especially Frogger and, of course, Tutankham.
  2. Those Tutankham pages took all my time in the last weeks, heh Nah, honestly, was pretty busy with my job, and IF I start IRCing again, I know that it's gonna take VERY much time. Nevertheless I plan to be there a bit more in winter.
  3. It is really a shame that Frogger won't work on O2 machines, it's imo one of the very best Videopac games. But it's great that the Brazilian Frogger release can help out you guys ... it's even better, because the frog in the title screen twinkles! The frog in the Euro version doesn't ... Before we release Tutankham on cart we will check if it will work on O2 machines. I know a guy in The Netherlands who is VERY good in Videopac technics, if it should not run I will ask him to look if he can patch it Killer Bees with a trackball, now THAT is something I'd like to try too. Too sad that those trackballs are so ultra-rare, I would REALLY love to own one! Would noone finde a warehouse with hundreds of Videopac Trackballs in it?
  4. Take a look at my sell/trade list, there are over 40 of the apprx. 60 released Euro games on it. I am sure we can work out something
  5. Wow, that cover looks great!!! Well, if we should release it on cart some day (and I want to do that!), we would release it in a Parker box probably, with artwork that fits to the other Parker games for the Videopac system. But we could of course also think of a US release with your cover.
  6. No, nightmare was not released in the US. I don't know why. In Europe it was released at about the same time as Killer Bees, maybe it came too late for the US market, as the big crash was already there. You can play it on the emu, or I have even a complete boxed Nightmare on my sell/trade list Thanks for the kind words and for the link!
  7. Thanks for the kind words, guys! Well, I think that most Parker games for the 2600 have, hmm, "chaotic" graphics. Hmm, the word "chaotic" is too hard, but, like in Tutankham, the graphics, the colors are not very "clear". The Videopac version uses the maze graphics that are stored within the ROM. This makes the Videopac games graphically very limited in the possibilities, as you get very "blocky" graphics, but on the other hand, if you use them right - and the creatores of Tutankham DID use them right - you get very clear graphics. I like that. I mean, the 2600 has way more possibilities/capabilities in graphics, many games would probably be not possible on the Videopac, but some are great - like Tut. I wonder which games we would have seen, if development on the Videopac would have continued 2 or 3 years more ... So far we know at least that the one or other Parker game WAS also in development for the Videopac system. Unfortunately no prototypes have appeared so far. And it's really a big shame that Tutankham wasn't released back then.
  8. There is a big special on my website now: www.dieterkoenig.at/ccc/
  9. I like the game! Played it back then on my 130XE and still play it one the emu today
  10. Is it possible to play Star Raiders on the Atari XL, but not with the keyboard controlling the board computer, but connecting the 2600 Star Raiders controller and using this one?
@Marco: Don't complain about Vidpik and then BUY Vidpik stuff!!!
  13. There was also the 65XEM they announced about the same time. I read that in a German Computer mag back in 1985 or so. I have those mags around here somewhere. The 65 XEM should have been a special "Music" version of the 65XE.
  14. We drove to the North Cape by car back in 1986. It was probably the most fantastic travel in my live so far. I love the Scandinavian landscape and the people are great too
  15. OT, but I rolled a few Videopac/Odyssey2 games back then: Monkeyshines, Nightmare and Super Cobra
  16. Jo, die Neutralität ist bei uns in der Verfassung verankert ... noch ... ... ehrlich gesagt hätte ich lieber daß es so bleibt und wir uns aus allem raushalten, aber so einfach ist's halt leider nicht ...
  17. I had a few hundreds of those Atari Joypads but sold most of them to Video 61. Have only a few ones left here. I don't like them too much for playing, I prefer "real" Joysticks
  18. Two and a half years ago I won a huge Videopac (for the US guys: Odyssey2) collection on ebay.de. I think there were a machine and about 25 or 30 games in it, everything boxed, and I paid around 250 DM ($125) afair. Got the parcel, opened it and found a complete collection of the TeleMatch magazin (German version of Electronic Games) and two TeleAction magazines (only 2 issues were released). The seller included those for free without telling me a word before. As I already had a complete TeleMatch and TeleAction collection, I sold all the 15 magazines on ebay.de, for a total of 608 DM ($305) ...
  19. I could land after 5 dockings with more than 7500 fuel OR 6 dockings with less than 7500 fuel, but never both AFAIR I could never manage to make the 6th docking ...
  20. Umm, why are there 2 Marcos suddenly? Sorry if I missed something ...
  21. Which Supercharger games were released in Australia in PAL format?
  22. I agree with Nukey, the Space Shuttle Commander patch seemed almost impossible to me. I earned the Pilot Patch back then, but could never manage to get close to the Commander ...
  23. Hm, indeed very interesting, Matty. As they already had the PAL version it makes me wonder why they didn't release it in Europe too ... The Australian version of the Supercharger and games have only an English manual I presume?
