Yes, that has helped a bit, thanks!!! But if an SLM605 toner cartridge is compatible with other printers, that doesn't mean that the SLM605 drum kits art TOO compatible with those printers ... Heh, there really seem to be some "Quelle catalog collectors", and I ever thought us vintage video game collectors are crazy ... Hm, have the Quelle games been sold only by Quelle or in other stores/warehouses too? If they have ONLY been sold by Quelle, they should ALL appear in the different Quelle catalogs in my opinion, because if they wouldn't appear there, NOBODY would have known that they exist ...

Just an idea: I browsed ebay.de and there are about 15 - 20 auctions with Quelle catalogs, some of them from the early 80s. The catalogs go for about 3 - 15 Euros. I would buy some, but shipping charge would be more than 15 Euros from Germany to Austria. So maybe any of you German guys might be interested and scan the Atari pages for us then ... Cheers, Dieter

Das mit den Bewertungen ist an sich ein Problem bei "professionellen" Verkäufern, denen (laut eigener Aussagen) meist die Zeit fehlt, da doch extrem viele Bewertungen zu vergeben wären. Ich habe von Lord Chaos allerdings bisher immer eine Bewertung erhalten, wenn auch erst einige Wochen später. Ich hab inzwischen auch schon alle PAL-Sachen für 2600 und XL/XE bei ihm gekauft, die ich noch nicht hatte, zumindest die spät veröffentlichten, denn viele seiner Spiele sind Neuauflagen aus den späten 80ern, da hab ich schon lieber die Originalversionen aus den frühen 80ern ... aber das werden manche wohl nicht verstehen

Hi Mario's other brother (ever thought of a shorter nick??? ) Well, I had "Karriere" as, umm, backup copy back in those days. I think it was developed in Germany and was sold only on disk. In DXG, the D stands for disk, all of the games released by Atari usually have DXnnnn, where nnnn stands for a four-digit number. But there is some special software which was released only in certain countries like Germany (DXG - where G stands for Germany) and I believe I saw a French program (DXF) too. Karriere translates into career and the game was quite fun for some time. There was a second game, produced also by Atari Germany, called "Globetrotter". That was real fun, especially with more players.

Albert, your additions seem to proove the theory: 1990 english booklets, 1991 posters, late 1991 - 1994 multilanguage, and the very last game(s) again english booklets. It seems they really did no "mixed" games = games that exist in 2 or more manual variations. Well, and it also prooves that the catalog numbers have nothing to do with the date of release ... I have some Telegames and Williams games too, but I didn't list them because they are usually a bit different from the Atari style of manuals. I have Joust with the same manual that you described. So I think we brought a little light in this ... :wink: If I can help out with some scans you don't have, just let me know ... tho it might take a bit time on my side ...

Sehr hilfreich wäre eine Liste fürs 2600, die alle (zumindest Atari) Spiele auflistet und angibt ob dieses Spiel beispielsweise "NTSC only" oder "PAL only" ist, so wie jene fürs 7800 auf http://members.aol.com/~Atari7800games/7800list.htm/ - die ist sehr übersichtlich. Gibt es so eine Liste auch fürs 2600???

Most of the 1991 releases have a poster, and only very few of the 1991 releases have multilanguage booklets (probably the late 1991 ones). Crystal Mines II has a booklet with English + French text. Alle of the 1992, 1993 and 1994 releases have multilangual booklets. The 1995 release "Super Asteroids & Missile Command" has an English booklet. I have 8 games twice here, and every of those 8 pairs have the same year and type of manual. So I still wonder if there are games out there which were released for example in 1990 with English booklet and later in a second run maybe 1991 with a poster!? Can anyone check this maybe? The "history" of the Lynx manuals seems to be as follows: Early games from 1989 and 1990 had English booklets, in the 1991 games Atari switched to the Enligsh posters, probably in late 1991 they switched to multilingual booklets which lasted until the 1994 releases. With the very late 1995 release "Super Asteroids & Missile Command" they switched back to the English-only booklet (cheaper?). What this list also shows, is that the Lynx games probably weren't released with ascending catalog number. So for example PA2024 and PA2057 are from 1990 whereas PA2038 is from 1991 and PA2034 is from 1992. Can anyone proof this? --- Or do I just have a 1992 re-release of PA2034? Was this game released in 1990 too??? Phew, this is driving me mad ...

Also ich hab ein Gravitar von 1988, komplett mit Box und Anleitung. Könnte mich nicht erinnern, dafür aussergewöhnlich viel bezahlt zu haben ... Ich bin leider (noch) kein 2600-Profi, aber ich glaube, daß die anderen von Dir erwähnten 268x-er Spiele schon sehr selten bzw. gar nicht erschienen sind.

At least here in Europe we have two styles of Lynx game manuals: Some games come with a small b/w booklet in five languages, some come with a big full color poster of the cover with the instructions in English on the back-side of the poster. Can anyone tell me more? Which of the two variations was first? Or did this vary depending on where you bought the games? It seems that the same game can have either the booklet or the poster.

Die teleaction war die erste Videospielezeitschrift, die ich damals kannte, gab's bei uns (Kapfenberg/Österreich) am Bahnhofskiosk, ich hab sie nach der Schule mal zufällig entdeckt und war natürlich gleich hin und weg. Die TeleMatch gab's damals bei uns seltsamerweise nicht im Handel, auf die bin ich später durch einen Händler in Wien aufmerksam geworden und hab sie dann gleich abonniert. Zurück zur teleaction: Als die Zeit für die dritte Ausgabe gekommen war, pilgerte ich fast jeden Tag zum Kiosk ... vergebens. Der Kioskbesitzer sah mich nach zwei, drei Wochen schon einigermaßen mitleidig an ... Ich schrieb zwei oder drei Briefe an die teleaction Redaktion (an alle jüngeren hier: Fax und eMail gab's noch nicht ), und eines Tages bekam ich tatsächlich einen Brief von Chefredakteur Harald Kaiser zurück. Ich muß ihn noch in irgendeinem Ordner haben, kann ihn jetzt aber auf die Schnelle nicht finden. Wortlaut war auf jeden Fall der, daß die Einstellung der Zeitschrift eine verlagsinterne Sache gewesen wäre, er (Kaiser) wäre natürlich sehr traurig über diese Entwicklung, aber ich solle doch in Zukunft die vom selben Verlag publizierte Zeitschrift "Video Programm" kaufen. Es war dies ein Magazin mit Testberichten über Videorekorder, aktuelle Videocassetten, Stars, usw. Unter anderem gab's auch in jeder Ausgabe Klebeetiketten für alle TV-Spielfilme eines Monats ... Auf jeden Fall würden in den kommenden Ausgaben der Video Programm einige Seiten auch für Telespiele reserviert sein, aufbereitet im teleaction-Stil. Naja, ich hab mir die Zeitschrift danach einige Male gekauft, aber mehr als 2 - 3 Seiten waren's eigentlich nie, und schließlich lernte ich dann ja die TeleMatch kennen, weshalb ich mir die Video Programm dann nicht mehr kaufte. Wenn die damals gewusst hätten, daß sie mit der teleaction innerhalb von ein, zwei Jahren zehnmal soviel verdienen hätten können wie mit der Video Program ... Gruß, Dieter ccc---
