  1. I did not see a palm tree logo. Maybe it was on the box. I bought it at Toys R Us near Almeda Mall in Houston. It was under $50 back in the day. Very affordable compared to Atari branded tape drives back then. I have also seen it on the web for other 8bits.
  2. I have a Taihaho drive that fits your description. I bought it at TRU also.
  3. Nice, that case is very close to the size to the board. Makes me want to put in another order.
  4. A stock 400 is easily worth more than $15. With 48K upgrade and a disk drive, that is a deal. If it works, pick it up. Since it has a memory upgrade, maybe the system has a keyboard upgrade too.
  5. No luck involved at all I had 2. Just forgot about having a second PAL 600xl. The PAL 600xl I was testing had a PAL Antic, I found out when trying to put the other PAL Antic back in. So I dug in my pile of 600xl and found the NTSC Antic PAL 600xl. It works, but Numen does not work because of the Antic. This annoyed me too. I looked at the cost of adding the monitor port and just started to look out for PAL 600xl because the cost of the monitor port parts and PAL Antic was more expensive than getting a PAL 600xl. The 2 I got was probably less than $30 each shipped to me. I remember getting one about 4 years ago. Both were from someone in the US so shipping was relatively cheap. My plans were long term. I was hoping to find a Yorkie, but ctirad's little project appeared. This allowed me what I wanted which was a cheap way to upgrade to 256k. the 320xl was just 64k better and maybe 512k if I dont mind hacking into the 600xl. Also, I noticed the 600xl also get better keyboard. The cheap mylar XL keyboards tend to be on the 800xl. Everyone of my 600xl are factory socketed. I had at least 2 800xl where all the big chips were soldered. As you can see none of these 600xls have the common mylar keyboard. 3 NTSC 2 PAL These 3 have the same keyboard. This is my favorite XL keyboard. It just happens to be in both the PAL 600xl. PAL 600xl w. NTSC Antic PAL 600xl NTSC 600xl These 2 have the same keyboard. 64k NTSC 600xl 16k 600xl As you can see I like the 600xl form factor. It took a lot of effort not to order more of ctirad's upgrade.
  6. I have said the same thing for the past 5 years missing at least 3 good deals on a complete MULE or even other things I wanted. I noticed that there are many deals to be had here on AA. You just have to be patient. I have found, when people lists multiple items and they do not want to test or too lazy to test, that they are ready to unload cheaply. I make an offer that is a bit low only because shipping is so expensive. They either counter or ignore me. The deal I posted, I just picked up at noon. It was years of patience to get this deal, but they are really common stuff. The 850, 130xe, and books were all common. The only thing I really wanted was M.U.L.E. but I offered for other things in the same lot that might be useful. I always wanted a 850, but really have no use for one. The 2 130xe work fine just a bit yellow. Everyone here had a shot at the items. I missed out on the 65xe and Indus GT from the same lot. From the postage, I know he got to keep maybe $30 from my payment. He was more interested in clearing house than getting maximum return. He could have gotten a few dollars more if he had just tested the systems. I guess he did not want to have deal with returns.
  7. IMO, the 600xl with 320k is the coolest. Look at the size of the system. The 1200xl would be better with an internal upgrade. I only tested it because it was sitting around. the 600xl with 320K looks like right at home the way it is. If you have a 800xl, the 600xl's dimensions height and width and about 2 inches shorter in length.
  8. I picked up 2 130xe, 850, MULE, Dragons of Pern and a few books for $75 shipped.
  9. I picked up a complete looking MULE in here on AA for $75 shipped. in a lot that included 2 130xe(1 boxed), 850, a few books, and a ratty Dragons of Pern.
  10. As I understand it, ctirad tells me that with the jumper off the base 64k is the internal ram + 256k on the 320xl. With the upgrade jumpered, 64k + 256k is used from the upgrade. One of my upgrades has problems and can not complete all my current tests while jumpered. The PAL 600xl has problems using the upgrade jumpered. Unjumpered, the oddball 16k+256k configuration on the PAL 600xl is not that useful. I have checked and all the PBI pins from the 600xl board are connected to the upgrade. So the PAL 16k 600xl would need to be jumpered to load DOS. I have a PBI 64k upgrade with a pass-through, but I left it at my dad's house. I may just add the 64k internal upgrade to the PAL 600xl, but I would rather find the problem because this system was the reason I bought these boards. On another note, the upgrade uses a 512k SRAM. I guess with extensive enough internal modifications the ram could be fully utilized, but that would defeat the plug&play purpose of this upgrade.
  11. I got the 1200 to work. It runs if the jumper is not set. I was able to run the same tests on as the 800xl and 64k 600xl. The 130xe does not work even when the jumper is off. I could not get much tested on the PAL 16k 600xl. There is not enough base ram with the jumper off to boot into a DOS. Is there a 16k dos?
  12. I have been looking for a copy of MULE but I am not interested in paying crazy prices. I would rather find one in the wild like that for just $1. I do not feel like collecting the game at prices like that.
  13. Please could you test the 256kB in that mode? I will when I get home. What kind of PBI extender is it? I saw some photo of an ICD PBI expander (IIRC) and it looked as a passive piece of PCB. I'm really interested how they connected the CASINH signal, which is not present on the Cart/ECI BUS and RAM320Xl needs it. I have am using the extender in the link for the 1200xl and a ICD extender for the 130xe. I guess RAM320xl will not work without modifications to the system and extender. In that case, I will probably not do more testing anytime soon since I bought them for use on the 600xl. I was only testing them because I had the 1200xl and 130xe sitting around.
  14. Here is what I have at the moment. The opening with PAL 600xl I did some tests in SpartaDos Ramdisk, ramcheck and xram021 Here Numen starting and Yie Ar KungFu. They do not finish because the 800xl and 600xl I tested them on did not have a PAL Antic. I did have a few problems while testing. I did not get my PAL 16k 600xl with NTSC Antic to work except for when I unjumper the upgrade, but could not test much because of the 16k. I only got a blank screen for the 130xe and 1200xl with PBI converter I had. The 2 systems I used to test were a stock 800xl and 64k 600xl with composite mod. They worked, but 1 of the 3 had to be unjumpered to completely load Yie Ar KungFu to the last screen before the game starts. I will have to test this one more extensively. i wanted to test the stock 600xl I have but they are RF only and I did not have anything setup for them. I really wanted to get the PAL 600xl to work. I will probably put the PAL Antic back in the 600xl and do some troubleshooting when I have more time. I better get some sleep now.
  15. Games that kept my Atari in use are Star Raiders, Defender, MULE, Archon 1&2, Lords of Conquest and BallBlazer.
  16. Both my 1702 accept PAL but V-hold has to be adjusted and only displays black and white.
  17. I got mine back in the day in a entertainment pack. I believe Rhod has it on his site. Too bad I no longer have the box.
  18. This is all I have right now.
  19. I just picked up mine from the post office on my way to work. I will open the package when I get home.
  20. I picked up a Atari 8bit monitor port to RCA audio/video cable from Goodwill for $2. Nothing special but it is something.
  21. U4 was my favorite, but I played on the Apple2. I had U3 on the Atari. I never finished U4 because never got the 3 part key, but already had gone down the Abyss. I did complete U5 though.
  22. Wasn't trying to imply anything. Delivery confirmation is free or near free if you have the right account, but not available cheaply on international shipments. It means I would not ship games and other stuff open to fraud international as readily as I do the itemss that I manufacture. Also, some people do not like to have the hassle of shipping internationally. We have to fill extra forms and wait in line at the post office in order to ship it. I do not because I have the forms pre-filled by Endicia and I because of it I can drop it off at any postal bin. It is mainly that hassle that turns people off from shipping overseas.
  23. Shipping would probably be pretty high for you too. Not really. You could probably ship 1st class Intl if it is under 4lbs. Costs about twice as much as Priority within the states but opens sales up to most of Europe. Only thing is there is no tracking so you have to trust the buyer is honest. BTW, UgotPM
