Does Ridiculous Shipping Make You Click Elsewhere?
Almost Rice replied to Omega-TI's topic in Auction Central
Perceived is right. I got a boxed 99/4a free. Maybe I should look inside it finally. I would never pay $90 total to get one tho. $45 shipping. I hope that the seller is charging so much because he will be boxing the box and paying the addition costs needed to protect the box. If he just slaps a shipping label on the box, then shipping price is way to high. On topic. if total is cheaper than its value. I may watch, but usually I dont waste my time. -

How much was he charging? This is a not so hard project. I could make a Joystick with arcade components.

I have lost all my regular First Class international Shipments to Brazil. The only shipment that I had no problems with was when I shipped a package Express Mail. So this country is on par with Italy at the moment for being my worst mail service.

i'm surprised. I glad I picked mine up way before ebay inflation. I thought it would have needed the box and manual to fetch that price -
-Why did less commercial titles for Atari 8Bit?
Almost Rice replied to Drummerboy's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
lowest common denominator. 48K. They had to make programs 48k compatible to get max audience for Atari 8bits. Apple 2 and C 64 were 64k minimum by mid 80s. atari 8 bits were still stuck with 48k programs. -
I second russg diagnosis. Those ram chips need replacement or buy the 320xe ram upgrade and dont worry about internal ram

I picked up a composite/Svideo/component converter for $10 at GW computer store. looks like 5 outputs. -
I picked this up at the local GW computer store for $10. It converts composite, Svideo, or Component to all composite, Svideo or component. It has 4 outputs and pass through. Should be able to support 5 screens simultaneously. Nice little unit and would be useful if I need to convert Component on a screen that does not take it.

I believe on the easy level it has less turns. I have not played in over 20 years so my memory could be wrong. I remember playing the intermediate level the most.

Almost Rice replied to [email protected]'s topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
might not work if the 400 is 16K. you will need at least 32K for a dos to load -
New U.S. Mail Prices, Names, etc. FEB 2013
Almost Rice replied to wood_jl's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
That would be 75 years within 10 years. No business could do this and succeed. No other Federal government entity is under the same burden and they have to be pay all their expenses from postage. No taxpayer money goes to USPS Imagine having to prepay all retirement for employees not even born yet for your business. I think Congress was doing special interest a favor here. Stock or bond market anyone? UPS and Fedex almost always cost me more for slower service. DHL charged me a rural charge that was more expensive than if I sent it overnight for a ground package. USPS is the single Federal entity that I deal with on a daily basis and think they are doing a good job of getting my packages to customers in a timely manner. Maybe I should be contacting my congressman. -
Coulds still be the ram. If there are 15 Micron Technology (MT) and 1 single other branded ram chip, then that is your most likely culprit. It will look like it works, but the ram will still have problems. The MT chips are a known problem in the 130xe showing ram failure.

What was the first computer magazine you read?
Almost Rice replied to dudeslife's topic in Classic Computing Discussion
Enter which later became a subsection of 321 Contact. I think that is where Curt found that pic of the mechanic modding an 800. I still havent found that mag yet. -
gone for a month and this happens. Bob is the reason I got a CC2 back in the day and used my 7800 regularly because of his games. I gotta take a look at some of the later games. Defender Arcade for the 2600 was another one of my favorites from Bob. He single handedly resurrected my interest in my 7800.
