I think Bob did a great job making it like the arcade. I hate playing the game as much as I did playing the arcade. On easy, I can barely get past the 1st docking. I die pretty quickly afterwards. It sucked my quarters fairly quickly back in the day. Bob could only capture that feel more like the arcade by adding a coin slot.

Got mine yesterday. I forgot how hard this game was even on easy.

Amazon cracking down on selling during Holidays
Almost Rice replied to SoulBlazer's topic in Auction Central
They have always been this way in certain categories during Christmas. They make us guarantee Christmas delivery by date and level of service, starting last year. They are trying to improve the customer experience. If it excludes part time sellers, then they do it. You must meet Amazon metrics in order to sell on their website. I have been playing by their rules for 5 years. They are hard but the extra sells are worth it. -
I stop reading for a week and all this happens. I would like to get on the list for MC. LMK if there is still room. I always loved this game but always sucked at it.

I use an Atari cx-22 in trackball mode. I play the trackball modified version of Centipede on it. All other brands, if they work at all, will only work in joystick emulation. I am not too sure of the sega trackballs.

Avoiding a negative at what cost?
Almost Rice replied to the.golden.ax's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
take the neg and move on. it does nothing to my salesand it stopped guys like this from buying. they know I will take the neg and not worry about my "perfect" feedback. also, video game buyers are the worst. you will not be doing yourself a favor if u do full refunds. My wife thought she would do the same for a customer. send return label and do full refund. guess what happens. gets a neg for her trouble. I know anyone demanding this much already has in mind to give you a neg for sending a bad cart. I told her no more return labels and no full refunds. we do 20% restock if we can not resell the item too. I get no extra negs for this policy. I feel it better than jumping through hoops just to get the neg. The guy knows that he can only AtoZ the 1 penny. That is why he is being specific that you refund the shipping. I would not do this. I think you have a greater than 50% chance he will neg you anyway. -

Cleaning out vintage computer storage
Almost Rice replied to phattyboombatty's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
WOW, if it was anywhere near Houston, I would be all over this. SD way to far -
I would take it, if I didnt have to deal with shipping. Just wish I knew when I would be in Big D. If you drive down to Houston for any reason, bring it down. If someone beats me and pays shipping, i'll let them have it.

did some cleaning

That looks more like a major scuff than the blemish. the blemish looks like the a hole in mold that was filled in.

my guess is, people see the 1st sell and makes them find their copy and list it.

My choice is PAL 600xl with 1M upgrade.

Been to a couple HACE meetings back in the day and I dont remember the portable
-
I have an old Intv 2 bare no PS and no controller laying around. LMK if u still need one.
-
Actually I play on my PAL 600xl because the colors are correct, also because a Dell LCD has much less flicker. On some levels, I cant distiguish shots and enemy on a NTSC machine. I like that the speed is hardly distinguishable between PAL and NTSC. Looks like Sheddy put a lot of effort into that part.

I got the cart yesterday and finally got around to putting it in. I never really liked Space Harrier when it was in the arcades, probably because it ate my quarters too fast. This game and Steve's sale was an opportunity I didnt want to pass up. I have to say 10 years is a long time, but it was worth it. I will have to keep this plugged at home. Thanks Sheddy for this labor of love.

Space Harrier Controller Preference
Almost Rice replied to RetroDiesel's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
I just got the cart from Steve. I only had a Fighter Stick SG-6 laying around. Works great. I turn on the autofire and just control player. I hated Space Harrier since the arcades, but this version and the joystick may grow on me. -
I too will not ship to Italy. Brazil and Mexico get EMS only.

Wow, I guess I am not on here enough. I missed buying Failsafe and Meteor Shower. Bob, is the reason I still turn my 7800 on. Ken brought me back to the 7800 and the reason I got a CC2, but Bob's creations keep the 7800 alive and I am happy to support him. He freely distributes his roms, and yet most of us still buy his carts to show support for him. I used my CC2 to play his games. That is why I did not put in Defender Arcade until 5 months after I received it. I just PMed Bob to let him know. I didnt need to have it work, but it would have been nice. Not only did he fix it, he sent it back with a box of Defender Arcade for my trouble. I am excited every time Bob announces a new program. He is a real asset to the Atari community. Dont let 1 detractor bother you Bob. That is what the ignore button is for.
