I poster earlier about this. I did hook up the chroma pin and while I get beautiful and sharp video via the NTSC Antic over s-video, I still get just Black and White via the PAL Antic on my machine. My display is a JVC BM-H1300SU multisystem broadcast monitor that displays PAL and NTSC. The JVC is even detecting it as BW video instead of PAL or NTSC.
How many displays have you tested it on? Just the JVC? did the JVC have PAL/NTSC selection or did it autochoose? If it autochose it is seeing a 50Hz signal and choosing PAL color decoding and your NTSC 800xl is sending NTSC color with 50Hz signal(real oddball signal). Check the video output to another monitor.
Solutions: get a dumb NTSC monitor that can adjust to 50Hz or one that you can manually select PAL/NTSC.
or get a PAL XL/XE for that JVC monitor.

Posting prices and changing them to best offer in PM is not good business practice.

I'll take 3 quality ones

Not too rare, I have an NES and 3 atari ones. I was going to mod one for 7800 use.

Hey Bob,
Check with jaybird3rd for carts. He has been selling a lot of pokey chips on board. They are probably Ball Blazer carts. I grabbed some but only the chips with a small part of the board.
-
I'll take it Ken. I am too lazy to make that myself. I'll take care of the shipping.

-
Careful, the shipping is $4.95 in itself!
for Media Mail. At that price, I would have expected Priority mail envelope at the least.

PAL Dark Chambers was the last game I had to find to get a complete collection, I got Water Ski and Tank Command before it! I would suggest its the rarest PAL release as I spent months looking for it on eBay and no stores had it, not even Telegames. In the end I was really lucky in that I saw one a mint one on eBay in Italy with a BIN of about 20 Euros. I snapped it up straight away but the only problem was that the seller only accepted cash as payment! So I actually had to send her a 20 Euro note but I got it in the end and was pretty happy.
Sending cash to Italy through their postal system is brave. I have lost half my packages to Italy. Brazil is the only worse country and I require all shipments there to be EMS. I just can't seperate Italy from the rest of Europe shipping at this time.

I just went to the Canada Post website and entered all the dimensions and weight of this box and I get the exact same prices. $41.07 is the cheapest price. You guys have to realize that this is Canada and Canada Post is always gouging and their rates have always been some of the worst postal prices on the planet. I can't ship a single 2600 cart within my own country for less than $10.
Sorry, I missed the your location. Should have guessed from your dimensions in cm and weight in Kg. If you are close enough you could cross the border.
-
Well I hope they still want the item. The box contains ONE Atari 8-bit cart - the box is 11x10x11 (centimeters, not inches) and weighs only .108 KG.
The CHEAPEST shipping to Poland for this package is $41.07 with prices going to the mid $80 mark for the fastest shipping.
Is this correct? I took the package down to the post office and they weighed it and measured it and they used the correct shipping address and this is what I got.

If the value of the item is low enough, just use 1st class international and hope it gets there for $4. If it is a rarer and expensive item, you will have to judge if it is worth the risk without tracking. $41 sounds like some Priority flat rate box. Express mail is 29.99 and 27.55 if you print it online. I think the people at the front desk have incentive to gouge you. I have never seen them only quote high prices like this.
I used the USPS.com online calculator with 4oz as the weight to find the prices.

$25 for everything and that includes ship would make me happy.

I've got a buyer asking about shipping one of my auction items to Poland. I was wondering if there are any hassles or possible problems I should be aware of. The buyer has 160+ feedback at 100%. Also, if I allow him, how do I set up my auction to allow it? I can't figure it out.
I had one shipment to Poland and 2 years ago and had no problems. I shipped it First Class International with USPS.

I have done that before and it also made the picture B/W. I know now to use only the cable I intend on using.
-
I remember somebody doing that with 7800 Centipede in co-op mode. He said it lets him double the firepower when the two shooters are merged together.
That would be me with the y splitter from B&C below. You can play 7800 Centipede TB version in Co-Op mode by yourself with this cable. Lots of fun with double the firepower.
Once again, I'm in a thread with superior intellects, way above my head.....
But I just wanted to point to this "reverse-Y" cable that's on Ebay.....

The genders are going to be wrong - this is for 1 joystick to 2 ports, but if you used gender changers would this be the equivalent to making the one you're talking about? Ahhh, gender changers would be a mess though.
Ok, now I'm butting back out....
Found the original thread I started, but it seemed no one really cared.

Did you buy it from Amazon themselves or from a person selling on Amazon? If Amazon has them this could be a bigger deal than thought previously.
that will be difficult to say as I bought it through an import service. that buys from amazon
I had a quick look again amazon does not have stock at the moment.
but some sellers are offering eg BESTSKU etc
what we can take away from this is that the seller stock on amazon is tainted.
also what is really interesting to me is that I can find no glitching on the unit except for the normal reported flashback 2 glitches eg. yar's return
If you make a AtoZ complaint to Amazon, the seller would lose and you get your money back. Amazon does not take kindly to fakes being sold on their website.

I agree with Thorsten. There are additional reasons. Modern monitors are not so forgiving with these mixed machines. Most will not display the video and at best a B/W screen. It is better to get an NTSC machine if you want NTSC and a PAL machine for PAL. I learned it the hard way and bought PAL systems to use if I want to run PAL only software.
Between my 1701, 1702 & 1084 I think there's not going to be a problem displaying it..
I do agree that having an NTSC 800 would be the best solution though, it's just a question of finding one at the right price with shipping not being insane.. For now I'll take the CPU board change option as an interim solution, and just keep an eye out for NTSC 800s..
On a older monitor, it is more likely you manually select NTSC or PAL so it is not a problem. Newer LCD monitors that I have used do no like the NTSC systems with PAL ANTIC or PAL systems with NTSC ANTIC, because they autodetect PAL or NTSC if the signal is 50Hz or 60Hz. I get either a rolling picture or at best a black and white picture.

NES top loader with 1 dogbone, 1 normal nes controller, and nes 4score for $15
I like the video out of my regular NES more.

Whatever it costs to send a small box via parcel post. Depends on distance. My zip is 34953 and I imagine the box would be between 1 and 2 lbs. My guess is around $7-$10.
Hi Bryan,
How much to 77084. I have a 1.2M drive that has not been used in HD because I never could find media for it.

May I suggest a much simpler method?
Sell the PAL 800 on eBay (UK e.g., but you may get even better prices for these machines are even rarer here - Germany) and buy an NTSC one on eBay USA. 800s are pretty common on the western side of the pond and quite rare on the eastern side due to the high price (a friend of mine had his parents buy him an 800 and 810 - they paid about DM 5,000 (that's more than EUR 2,500).

"Joust" on the Atari 400/800/XL/XE/XEGS is my favorite of all time. Graphically, it's lacking. The birds-sprites are one color. But the playability! It's fast and excellent. You can get to bouncing off the top of the screen and landing on foes - better than any other version.
I agree. I like playing it more than the 7800 version, even though the 7800 version looks better.

You are in Canada. They are probably calculating shipping as Priority Mail.
