  1. Hey, I'm a noob, too! I recently got a CoCo Model 1 for very cheap with a composite mod. Some things: #1.) If you load games from a .wav file/cassette, if CLOAD doesn't work, CLOADM will. #2.) After loading, 'Run' for CLOAD programs (BASIC Programs) and 'exec' for CLOADM programs (Machine Language Programs.) Cassette cables can be had for a relative cheap price on Ebay. I got mine for about 5 bucks.
  2. Now a proud owner of an Intellivision!~ Yay!

My guess is that sticker was on something else and they just stuck it there...But that is just a guess.

  3. Wow, thanks for the replies guys. Basically I'd be getting into this more as a hobby thing than to do it for people or do it as a business, for the person who asked above. I just wanted to know the things I should probably look into ahead of time!
  4. Hello! I've been thinking about getting back into retro console repair and modification. I attempted to, a long while back, but then my life got kind of dumped on. NOW that I have the time and money to get back into the hobby, I wanna get back to trying to learn. What would you include in a retro-console repair kit? What sizes of tools? and so on.
  5. D.M. are my Initials. 'Dark Journey'. That's metal af. It's probably some black and blue colored platformer with a stick sword.
  6. I have 'Love Rollercoaster' stuck in my head for no good reason. /Fuuuuuu---/

  8. Helloooo. Update: Colecovision on it's way from it's seller. So no longer looking! I'm looking for Atari 7800 games. I'm looking for the ones on the list below: (I am mainly looking for loose carts. I'm finding Boxed/CIB is too expensive for me. I mean if you're selling cheap CIB games, great, but just noting. X3) Dark Chambers Donkey Kong Donkey Kong Jr. Joust Dig Dug Centipede Galaga Ms. Pac-Man I don't have a feedback history here, sadly. So nothing to link you to. Payment would be via Paypal or Venmo as I have a Venmo now! (Though have not used it yet.) Thank you for your consideration!
  9. Aaaaaaa I won a cheap Intellivison on Ebay with 12 games and the voice module. <3. I love being able to collect again~

The games have a unique look, and often can't be found elsewhere.

Yup. I love the woodgrain look of the original console. X3. And yes, you can usually look at an Intellivison game and go 'Yup, that's probably an Inty game.'.

  10. Thanks to some kind folks on the Tandy section, I got my TRS-80 CoCo 1 loading programs from cassette. :) Thanks guys~.

  11. Hey jhd. Basically, I'm the ultra noob. X3. I thought it was 'RUN' for both types. I loaded a program and typed 'EXEC' and that worked. Go Munchman and Color Invaders working, which were my two test programs. Thank you for your patience. X3 Whoops!
  12. I can't edit this, whoops but I will add: I have typed 'AUDIO ON' and confirmed that the devices will play through the TV great, so the cable is ostensibly fine.
  13. Hello! I recently got a CoCo 1 and have been trying to get it load programs via a Cassette cable I bought off Ebay. Here's how it goes: I load the .wav file onto the device. I get the wav files from here: http://www.colorcomputerarchive.com/coco/Cassettes/Games/ I connect the device via the cable to the device. I type 'CLOAD' (or CLOADM, as applicable) and then that little prompt in the corner comes up. I press play. It blinks. It gets the correct name of the program. It appears to be loading. The recording stops. The little light blinks: 'OK' it says. Now when I type 'Run', nothing happens. I type 'List' and there's no program loaded. It's like it wasn't loading anything at all. :-/. What's going on? How can I potentially fix it? I've tried various volume levels but that doesn't seem to matter. I KNOW it's loading /something/ because it's detecting the name of the program while it loads. :-/.
  14. Bubsy on your Catari 2600! What could pawsibly go wrong!? (Also, fun game!)
  15. Started collecting again recently SINCE 2006 now that my life is back in order. Got ahold of a 2600 'Junior' model, a NES and a Sega Genesis! TRS-80 CoCo on the way! Intellivision next! <3

For those wondering. 'Life back in order' meaning I won my Social Security claim after fighting many years and jumping through various hoops. I'm disabled physically. :( Not a lot of mobility anymore. Just an explanation for those wondering what that meant~.

  16. Thanks for the reply, acadeshopper! That's neat then! I can buy a generic cassette deck then or just use a spare old smartphone I have laying around then.
  17. As the title says, I got a TRS-80 CoCo. It comes with a Pak game. (Chess), and it's been modded to use RCA Video/In out style jacks. (I believe this is called a composite mod? I am basically returning to the collectors scene of retro games after a VERY long hiatus.) for what I think is a good price of 35 dollars off ebay. NOW, besides the cassette interface cable, do I need a super special cassette player to load tapes? Or can I just use any old cassette player after fiddling with volume settings? As far as I can tell the only benefit of a 'super special TRS-80 specific' cassette is the ability for the computer to control it directly? (Or heck, can I even play an audio file of the cassette off my computer or smart phone?) Just making sure I know what to get and look out for~
