  1. perhaps people dont have time to visit thier local goodwill?
  2. and people think its "wrong" for me to haggle with people at garage sales for a lower price. from time to time, I will grab something from the garbage, if it is in plain site and catches my eye, but I think its totally disgusting to sift through someone's trash in hopes of finding treasures.
  3. "keystone kapers" commercial was pretty amusing. "keystone kapers" commercial
  4. Taito also officially released Front Line on the MSX. Also Front Line was released by Coleco for the Atari 2600 in 1984. It was obviosly released for the Colecovision, one of my favorite coleco games.
  5. Both Pac & Pal and Super Pac Man are available on the Super Pac-Man plug n' play. Super Pac is also available on the C64, as part of Namco Museum Vol 3 (PS1), on the Game Boy Color (as part of Ms. Pac-Man), and allegedly on Namco Museum Remix (Wii). but they werent made for console versions. anthing starting from PS1 and up doesnt count.
  6. having it on any system from Sony 1 and beyond doesnt count. those are more or less "exact" as the arcade.
  7. This is the first one that I could actually see come into Fruition I would KILL for Colecovision Elevator Action. I often wondered why it was never released for coleco or atari. perhaps there was some typ of bidding war: coleco got frontline, atari got jungle hunt then it left elevator action up for grabs?
  8. I threw out a couple a few months ago. didnt think anyone wanted them.
  9. Coleco delivered what we wanted in home games. it was the closest thing to the arcade that we wanted. Sure, my first system was the 2600 but my second was the CV and once you got it, you never uttered the words "atari" again. the 5200 was nice, but coleco's library was so much bigger and better. not only that, it dove into other arcade styles with its controllers and expansion modules, and they worked great. so much to love!
  10. yup. I found a mint coleco, boxed with sa controllers, roller controller and xpansion mod all in box, for $80 on craigslist.
  11. im afraid that your wrong with your thoughts. classic gaming is not a specialized market. Its just like any other collectible out there. I am a huge star wars and gi joe collector and I want to sell some items. it too, takes hard work to sell to get any decent cash back.
  12. Needs time pilot, roc n rope, rush n attack, lifeforce, contra, gi joe,
  13. I want to thank those of you that send me the DK2 rom!
  14. well, at least we can all agree that this is ILLEGAL! And yes, changing the code is considered "tampering" but you cant really get arrested for it because once you buy the game, it is "yours" per say. but once you start selling it on the black market....there rests the crime and you can get arrested for it.
  15. The hack according to its own title screen is called 'Donkey Kong II - Jumpman Returns' or 'Jumpman Returns - Donkey Kong II'. I don't see D2K anywhere, except for the rom name. If the ROM name matters then MAME emulate not 'Donkey Kong', but a game called DKONG. I guess the title screen says it all. I rest my case. wait...theres also a COPYRIGHT for the donkey kong 2 games? LMAO!!!!!!!
  16. That is different. If you are making a Star Wars movie and selling it than that is copyright infringement. Jeff is not selling a Donkey Kong arcade board that he made. He is selling chips that alter a Donkey Kong arcade board. He is not selling a game. If you could make a DVD player that mixed around the scenes on a Star Wars DVD and arranged them in an order to make a new movie then that would be completely legal to sell as long as you are not selling a pirated copy of the move with it. but It is illegal if I were to try and sell the cgi movie. the name and its properties is copyrighted and lucas owns it all. remember the rap group "luke skywalker and the 2 live crew?" lucas sued him because he wasnt allowed permission to use the name "luke skywalker". he was able to keep the name "luke" I guess because it is short for luthor (his name). so, I am not permitted to sell the dvd because the whole concept s lucas's creation.
  17. They sure did get sued. But you know what, they won and kept on making Game Genies. Now you see Game Shark and several other similar cheating devices that are on the market. Obviously if it was illegal then they wouldn't still be making them. Has Nintendo shut him down yet? He released his first DK hack several years ago and nothing has happend yet. Nintendo knows about D2K because several people have come forward and said that they narced on Jeff. Not to mention that Jeff has even claimed to have contacted Nintendo himself about D2K. well, I can assure you I wont be contacting anyone. Im not a dime dropper. I applaud him for his efforts of making a sequal.
  18. Im going to compare this to another possible scenario: Ok, I am a CGI designer. I created a STAR WARS film from CGI that links to E3 to E4. Now, we all know George Lucas adores these fanboy created films and he encourages them. I now start distributing them and charging people. Not only that but you need to own E3 & E4 to unlock the code in order to view it. Lucas catches wind and sends a "cease and desist" order. Is lucas right? after all, I designed the film but you can only view it from a couple of items that Lucas created himself. Am I right to charge everyone for the film, even though Lucas owns the copyright lock, stock and barrel? No. I dont have the right.
  19. Yeah but these people fail to realise that there was another hack before D2K. Jeff took the extra foundry level from that hack and added 3 more to make D2K. They don't realise that this has been around for quite a few years and Nintendo has known about it for all this time and has done nothing to stop it. That's because there is nothing that they can do to stop it since D2K is completely legal. Hell, Artlover tried to correct me when I said that D2K consited of 2 chips. Why don't you guys go distribute the ROM for the new Pac-Man collection for the Colecovision? Wouldn't you consider that illegal? Please, I want to hear your responses. roms are illegal. sure, I admit that. hell, look at my screen name. I used to steal cartridges when I was 12 years old with another board member here. The fact of the matter is that he is tampering with copyrighted material and making a profit off of it. I would love to see proof that Nintendo doesnt care about thier most biggest entity.
  20. What are you not understanding about this? Do I have to tell you again? The D2K chips do not have any code from Donkey Kong on them. That is why you put then onto an already existing DK board. Think of it like the Game Genie. The Game Genie does not have code on it from any NES games. The Game Genie just modifies the code on the games to make something differnt. In the case of the Game Genie it's to give you cheats and in the case of D2K it's to give you a different game. He is not remixing a CD and selling it, he is selling a device that remixes the CD that you put in it. Got it? didnt the makers of the game genie get sued for it? I could be wrong but thats what I recently read.
