Some of you here know that I am a dumpster diver. Well, I find just about everything behind Goodwill, from big TVs to clothing. Anyway, the other night I went dumpster diving, and after loading my car with jars of antique coins those morons threw out, I actually found a big bag of Nintendo games. Here Are the games I found. The games with a * beside them are the ones I am thinking about keeping. All others I might trade. I just wanted to share with you guys what I found, and see what you think:
SILVER SURFER
DOUBLE DRAGON (I guess this means I can throw out my 7800 version j/k)
NINJA
PRO AM
CONTRA
DONKEY KONG
T2 *
ROCKIN KATS*
LINK
MARIO 3
WIZARDS AND WARRIORS*
THE PUNISHER*
PAC MAN (bad label)
LEGACY OF THE WIZARD*
CASTLEVANIA*
TETRIS*
NINJA II*
SUPER MARIO / DUCK HUNT / TRACK MEET
TEENAGE MUTANT
HOGANS ALLEY*
JACKAL*
I also found a game with a real bad label. I cant make out the name, but I think it ends with ...illy
There is an alligator at the bottom of the label. Most of the label is torn off.
I havent played with any of these yet.
nice!! i wouldnt have the guts to go dumpster diving.
as for the game with no name....I believe it is "the adventures of bayou billy".

I would like to know what other games are roller controller only games? Ive got to admit, I was getting very bored with video games till I got this new toy! Please list for me other great games for this controller
Sadly, the only other games that work with the Roller Controller are Victory, Omega Race and War Games (in two-player mode).
not really. I was able to play alot of games with it. My memory is poor but I believe I was able to plug it into the Atari Expansion module and play games like Centipede. Give it a try.

yea, I noticed that the controllers had different games, depending on what kiosk you found them at. I was tempted to but them all but i was like "eh...why bother?"
-
they were selling these at a local mall a couple of years ago then I guess they got busted because they disappeared then they had a tons of SONY PS1's that had all the NES guts inside. it was pretty cool to see them converting like that to become less noticable.

There are 60-to-72 adapters available. If you're interested, make sure you get one that adapts a 60-pin port to a 72-pin cartridge, and not vice versa.
really? are they availible online? ebay? thanks!
-
thanks. so the slot is obsolete to me! thought it would have been cooler so i didnt have to get my old NES going.

Ok, Im sure everyone has seen these things. They look like a jumbo sized PS controller which when turned on, feature about 1000 NES games. all rolled into one. I know they are illegal but the one I have has a slot underneath it. Now I took a NES game and put it in and nothing. I saw that the PIN on the controller was smaller than the actual cartridge pin.
so, I know this doesnt actually work so my question is "why did they even bother makin a slot if it didnt actually work?"

As far as killing it...
http://www.neshq.com/hardmods/lockout.txt
Top-loading NESes, FamiClones, and FamiComs lack a lockout chip, and have better connectors.
The AV FamiCom(NES2, Japanese-style) and a NES->FC adapter is probably the best possible combination.
As was previously noted, no functional lockout chip will cause odd behavior on the Nintendo World Championship cartridge. But it has no other ill effects.
Cool, thanks for the link, will try this out.
dam, I didnt know this. I didnt even know that Nintendo had bootleg games! hey, this brings up another question..........

flea markets have different policies. for i instance, the flea markets on long island sell all "new" stuff and give you a 7 day money back warranty. there rarely sell used stuff, if any at all.
-
the garage sales that I hate going to are the ones run by "collectors". they sell everything at top dollar and you cant haggle with another collector as easily a regular garage sale.
-
Yeah...
The NES cartridge connector was a bad idea. The ZIF socket they use is completely ill-suited for a video game machine. Making things worse is the fact that the lockout chip is VERY finicky about decent connections(hence why you can see flashing game screens a lot of the time, since the ROMs are working fine, but not the lockout).
How does one disable the lockout chip? Wouldn't mind trying that out.
yes, what is a lock out chip? is it in the system? of the game? i never heard of this. does it come "activated" and what is it for?

dam! I have alot of cleaning to do!
I was told that cleaning them with alchol may actually do more harm than good. Im afraid to do so but I will try it.
I never had to do this with my coleco cartridges or atari but I guess the NES has more to clean. Ill let you know how it goes!

I just found this, it HAS GOT to be the oldest Video Commerical there is.
Although its strange that they would have filmed a black and white commercial in the 70's.

I always thought the coleco telestar was the oldest!
