  1. Caleb was on The Intellivision Gamer's channel yesterday explaining his involvement with Cote Gamers. The video is a great source for Intellivision information if you have the time to watch the full interview with Caleb. I ordered 2 couplers and a pair of adapters from his Etsy site to play Intellivision Flashback controllers on the Sears model from Caleb awhile back and they all work great and Caleb got them out to me in no time. I highly recommend buying from him. (8BitWidgets at Etsy or the same with a .com at the end for his hilarious and unique website.) As for the Long Play controllers, I would wait until the second batch comes out as it sounds like they will be even better than the first.
  2. If you go back in this topic and look at my posts I wound up making one myself which was no easy chore since I suck at soldering, and I was always worried my lousy soldering job would not hold up. So when I just happened to come across his post by accident on Etsy looking for a certain Intellivision game, I ordered a pair right away and they work great. Guy is super responsive to messages. Hope he sells as many of them as he can make.
  3. Hi. If you don't get a response, I was able to get them from a seller on Etsy back in July. (You can see my review as Lawrence.) He's also on EBay now. Do a search for Intellivision Flashback adapter. Going back and forth between the two listings I'm not sure if he's got 2 left (Etsy) or if he's waiting for more parts (EBay). I'd contact him and ask first before ordering. But yeah, they work great and the buttons on the Flashback controllers are superior to the original console ones IMHO.
  4. Appreciate the info IntellivisionDude! I have a BackBit Pro as well and your information really helps in deciding which roms I can download. And I agree. Evie's support is top notch.
  5. I'm pretty sure you need the ECS attached in order for that to work on a Backbit. I just tried that file (World Series Major League Baseball.rom), I don't have an ECS, and it doesn't work on my BackBit. Converting it to .ecs doesn't help either. In fact, I was unable to get any available roms or ints of that game to play in an emulator. It would work at first in jzIntvImGui_2.3.7, but then always freeze after one inning with an awful staticky noise. On the other hand, David Harley has an ECS controller bundle of 5 ECS games for a total of $5 (well worth the purchase at Intellivision.us) which includes that game (which he calls Super Series Baseball) and which bypasses the need for the keyboard and uses only controller controls. After adding the parameters --ecs=1 and --voice=1 in jzIntvImGui_2.3.7 I was able to play a full game with David Harley's version on both my PC and my Firestick (Android).
  6. Doh! Another thing that didn't dawn on me was which intvdave I was talking to. Even got it working on the big screen on my FireTV using a kbd file for a Nintendo Pro controller. Works great. Thanks again!
  7. OMG intvdave. Thank you so much! Yes, I am getting voice now. That didn't even dawn on me that I needed that since the voice was already working without that parameter in the original WSBBall rom. Again, THANK YOU!!!
  8. WSBBall hack? I'm talking about the rom from Super Series Baseball from David Harley, (or the BIN+CFG just tried both), in jzIntvImGui, using both the internal jzIntv or an external jzIntv in Windows 10. No voice. Same thing if i run jzIntv from a command line or use a bat file. What is this WSBBall hack you speak of? Some special CFG file? There is voice in the original World Series Major League Baseball using the config above and the keyboard. But it stops working after 1/2 inning for me using a Vision-daptor and original Intellivision controllers.
  9. Seems mr_me beat me to it. I can confirm that what he says to do above will work and get the game running. At least for half an inning. I had no interest in this game at all until David Harley put out his ECS Controller Bundle at Intellivision.us. You can now play this game with only the controllers and without the need for a keyboard. (No voice unfortunately.) He also sped up the game and you can even pitch to David Harley in the bottom of the first as he is the lead off hitter for the National League. Lol. I created a kbdhackfile config for my Vision-daptor (which sadly has been discontinued) for my PC and it works great in David's updated game. But in the original game rom after hitting F7 to use the ECS keyboard in jzIntv, I get through the top of the inning using the disc to hit or lower buttons to bunt, but as soon as it goes to the bottom of the inning the disc keeps working but the space bar and the buttons no longer work. And I'm not sure if the keypad on the controller ever works in the original game rom although it works fine in Harley's updated game. (BTW, which is a steal for the five games you get and what he's asking for it.) Anyway, if anyone knows what may be the problem or if it's fixable... For now I'm back to playing X-Rally on my FireTV. I love Intellivision homebrew roms.
  10. Updating my previous review, after experimenting with more games, I now have one controller with the thumbstick attachment and one with the D-pad. I found the D-pad might actually be a bit better than the thumbstick for some games. My cheap EBay thumbstick covers made of silicone that I mentioned in my earlier review kept coming off, so I invested in some Skull & Co. and the new KontrolFreek Universal thumbstick covers from Amazon. Both are not that easy to put on (you need to turn both completely inside out first) and I even wound up breaking one of the thumbsticks attachments applying too much pressure (it super-glued back on fortunately, but be careful). The Skull & Co. come in a pack of 6 (all black) with 2 high options and 4 lower options, while the KontrolFreek Universal, while slightly more expensive, come in a pack of 8 in 4 different colors. The Kontrol Freek ones stretched a bit more after turning them inside out and went on easier. They also stay on unlike the silicone covers I had. Also, a better grip on the top than the Skull & Co. ones. Anyway, something to consider if you prefer the thumbstick option on these controllers to make them even better. BTW, I also have some Flashback controllers with adapters to use them with the original console, and for controllers that use the disk, I prefer them because of their superior side buttons. However, I ultimately always find myself coming back to these controllers instead because of the side layout, the thumbstick and D-pad options and the top buttons.
  11. I don't have them for RETROPIE, but I can give you a couple that I made for jzIntvImGui on Windows 10 and for Android on the Fire TV. (Attachments below - Rename the .txt extension to .cfg if you want to try them.) The D-Pad has different controls on Windows 10 vs. on Android for Fire TV, and I have no idea what it would be on RETROPIE. Best thing to do when testing is to download Event Diagnogtics (event_diag.rom) and confirm what jzIntv is seeing and then you will know what to enter for your configs in RETROPIE before trying the controls in the game. BTW, getting the triggers to work on an XBox (360, One or Series X/S) controller is a pain in the butt, and almost always they won't work. Either don't use the triggers, or use another controller. I also have configs for the Nintendo Pro Controller, 8Bit Do Pro 2, 8BitDo Ultimate Controller and a PowerA Moga XP5-X Plus which I got used on Amazon for very cheap and it still works great. With almost every other controller I tried outside of the XBox ones the triggers (or secondary left and right buttons) are treated as buttons in Event Diagnostics and will work. For other controllers search out reviews on YouTube to see if they are treated as triggers or buttons. XBox_Win.txt XBox_FireTV_OS7.txt
  12. Received my controllers just a few days ago. Mike's Gaming Gala did an excellent review of these controllers a few months back on YouTube, and I agree with most of his sentiments. I did not think the disc was as responsive as the original despite having microswitches. As Mike said in his video, if you use a sweeping motion on the disc as I do instead of a push in just one direction or another, you might not do as well, and there is not as much give on the disc as compared to the original. The original disc on the original or Sears units (not the Intellivision II controllers) are still the best IMO. But I mainly bought these controllers for their horizontal layout, the placement of the buttons, and because I don't care much for using a disc and like that it had two other options. To change to the different disc options, taking the controller apart was simple with just taking out the four screws. However, putting it back together after replacing the disc was another story entirely as getting the numbered pieces and buttons to stay in their slots while putting the controller back together with my butterfingers at my age was no easy chore. On subsequent replacing the disc option attempts I found the best way to do it was to keep the yellow side down at all times, and after taking out the four screws, lift only the side of the controller where the disc was located just barely enough to replace it so the keypad buttons and round buttons did not come out of their respective slots in the rest of the controller. Sadly, for me, the D-Pad was a disappointment. If you keep your thumb in the middle of it, it works the best. But the up, down, left and right edges of the cross can be hard on your thumb after awhile if that is the primary way you use it. I thought going back to the disc might solve that problem, but for some reason the disc (maybe leverage since the D-Pad sits on top of the disc) was not as responsive as the D-Pad option was. Now onto the good news... The joystick option was great. Leverage like the D-Pad but also with a rounded circular top much easier on the thumb. Easily the best option of the three. Still a bit hard on the thumb after extended sessions, but I found a fix. Some time ago I bought some thumb stick covers on EBay for an old Xbox 360 controller I had with a worn thumbstick and it worked wonders. I found the extra ones I had in a drawer, and while the fit over the joystick option was a bit tight, it stays on. If you do a search on EBay for "silicone thumb stick cover" you can find two U.S. sellers currently that are selling eight of these thumb stick covers of various heights for about $3 total with free shipping. With this addition it now feels close to what you would have on a modern XBox controller and it's no longer hard on the thumb. At least for me this last option was a game changer. I was never any good at Tron Deadly Disc, but it now makes some of those precise turns at Burgertime easy. For anyone looking to use the joystick option, this would be an easy recommend for me. And the D-pad option isn't bad either, but like I said, a bit hard on the thumb if you like to use the edges of the cross and not sit your thumb in the middle. The keypad and regular buttons are both responsive, and the horizontal layout and placement of the buttons on this controller also make it a game changer. Overall, thanks to the joystick option, I'm very pleased with my purchase.
  13. And this site is where? I'm #100 on the list and haven't heard back from tanuki.
