  1. Oh, thank you so much ! I'll be testing that and I do plan on making a tape interface for my old tape drives some day, so if it works, I'll let you know.
  2. Hello, I have a supercharger in my possession and couldn't not see this, does anybody have a .bin I could try on my supercharger ? That would be really great as I don't have an harmony cart and I'd really like to play around with this "game". It would be greatly appreciated if anyone could help, thank you.
  3. Thank you for the manual ! After reading it, there's text explaining the outputs at page 11 and a table at page 12 and it looks like this : So pin 2 and 4 works as "variable clocks" so the console can see how fast the ball is going ? If so then I could try some testings to see if the module has enough bandwidth to be able to go as fast as on a wired connection.
  4. I set up my SC mostly just to play this game. Plug in an old MP3 player and there you go. The 15 seconds load time doesn't bother me, I'm used to old computers, I even consider the SC quite fast in fact and I'm not preventing myself from playing the best version of frogger on the 2600 because of that.
  5. Months ago, I bought a Game Mate II for my 2600, it came with a left and right stick. I first wanted it because collecting, but I realized that the wireless module is dead simple to understand and you can put it in a DIY case easily to make a wireless modern and much better working stick. I did so and I have to report that it's so much better than the OG stick and I made the thing so that it's a 100% reversible if need be. But now I have a second wireless stick that's basically gonna sit unused and that got me thinking, well, I could just make a wireless trackball out of a CX-22. The thing is, I dunno how the CX-22 communicates thru the port in trakball mode and the wireless module can only do 4 directions + fire button. I could always get a CX-22 that doesn't have a trakball mode and just do like a regular stick, but I'd like to know how the trakball mode first works before thinking to far in this project. Thank you.
  6. Yeah, I don't have a scope and nothing is labeled on the PCB, so finding R19 is a bit out of my league...
  7. Thanks for the help, both chips on the board seems to be getting 5v, but nothing is labeled on the board, so I don't really know where the test points or the components even are from the pdf you linked.
  8. Yes, it's cleaned and it doesn't looks like there's that much wear on it, I cannot se wear pattern on it.
  9. I got myself a 410 drive, I think it's the second version and was made somewhere in 82. I replaced some belts to make it able to play/record. When I save to it, the drive starts like it should and "records". The computer plays the sound back on the TV as supposed and the drive stops when finished. When I play it back with cload, I can hear faintly what was recorded on the tape on the TV, but it's very quiet and the computer error's out. I guess it's an electronic problem, maybe even a capacitor, but I wanted some help before to be sure. Thank you.
  10. I'm in my late 20's and I've started collecting for the 2600 this year. I'm the kinda person who loves owning everything old, but the 2600 is what I can afford, so that's what I do and it gives me tons of fun. Few people enjoy this today already, so I suppose it'll be smaller in the future. I'm not in this for the money, so if the market plummets it'll make me happier 😛 The thing is, the collectors will probably hang up on them for a while, so even if the market goes down, in 20 years, I guess most of the supplies will have dried up.
  11. For me it's the fluidity that a lot of games have on the 2600. Compare the same game on the 2600 and a contemporary and a lot of them feel smoother than the other systems. I guess that racing the beam has it's advantages !
  12. Did the same too, though I used petroleum grease as it's the only thing I could afford at the time. But even cleaned, the pots seems to still have some scratchiness (very little though, I can play with them now), but I have an electronic store near me that sell those, so I'll be able to just get replacements if they ever die. I wouldn't recommend using what I used though.
  13. I see very nice boxed collections here ! Glad I can see them !
  14. It's sad that it's ending. I started collecting for the system maybe 7 months ago now and I'm already in the 70 cartridges. Though, for my collection, I aim at having at least the game + it's manual, reading on anything else feels anachronistic to me, especially on a tablette 😂 Even collecting for games CIB is still affordable for most games, so a lot of the time, I just get it CIB as ebay sellers seems to think that having the game + it's manual = almost the price of it in box from what I find on ebay close to where I live.
  15. Thank you for your answers ! I do have a question remaining, does anyone knows how much the CX-22 and/or wicko trackball uses ? I know serial mice on PC used something like 20ma because of the limitations of the serial port, but I can't seem to find it with a quick google search. Hope someone can help. Although, for the wireless receiver box, it plugs on the adaptor, so the regulatos doesn't need to provide anything to it.
