I guess were never to know how these PAL games made it too the USA but one things for sure I'm getting me a TV with a Verticle hold switch on it. And woodgrain at that, to match the Atari.

I don't want to interupt too much but what does BTW stand for? Everyone keeps using it in these forums and I'm really confused, at first I thought it was German because jahfish wrote it and that's when I first noticed it. But now everyone is using it. Does it mean "by the way?" I don't know. Thanks and sorry for interupting the flow of conversation. carry on

I agree that some parts of the country have all the luck. I think fads take place in certain areas better than others and let me tell you Arkansas is one of the slowest places on earth to catch on to cool things. Good thing for me I live in a college town where people come to pawn off their junk for cheap living but I still have a hard time finding stuff here. I even wen all the way to Kansas City and looked in a bunch of game stores and nothing. Although I did find an original Atari joystick there for a buck. I bought it since up to that point I was using a Sega Genesis controller. I needed the original feel. Since then I have found a slew of original controllers, more than I know what to do with. Thank goodness for the Genesis though or I would have been screwed out of playing for a long time.

That was one messed up seller list! how many combats can one person actually swindle people into buying anyway.

This is completely insane. I just got back from the game store with a copy of RS Tennis. Normally I don't buy sports games but I really wanted to buy Atari stuff today. So I popped in my game and got the same effect. Silver label, rolling screen RS Tennis on the end label but when I checked the cart scan here at Atariage I found out it says RS Tennis on the front too. Mine only says TENNIS in all caps on the front. No other marks make this a noticable PAL cart. The bottom reads (1988 ATARI CORP. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED 2680) What gives, I actually thought the game might be broken for a minute. Quite the coincidence.

Looks mighty suspicious to me too. That is such an odd color of black like the toner on his printer wasn't good enough to print true black. But it could be the scan as well. I also agree with the fact that the corners look suspicious, like they were hand cut withan xacto knife. I know how hard it is do this it always comes out a bit straight edged. Also he seems mighty certain the game will go up to $50 bucks when he "doesn't know what he has." Sounds strange to me. I would avoid this. I could do a better job of ripping someone off. Maybe I should try it, and not actually finalize the deal, just to see if I could do it. Maybe I could have a contest to see if someone on atariage could spot it. HMMMMMM! Of course I wouldn't let it get out into the public hands and rip someone off. That would suck and I wouldn't want someone doing that to me. hmmm, anyway. This looks fishy.

Whoa! Anti sock panasonic and one red loafer. A running theme. Actually this post was too good I couldn't let it fall off the first page here.

Yeah I have a defo frogger and a pitfall that when you press jump locks you in the air letting you glide across all the screens until time runs out or you get really bored. I can still get those TI games for anyone, if they want them (hehehe) (yeah I'm probably running the TI thing into the ground but I thought the system was an amazing find, for me anyway)

I found the mega joy/super tv boy and some others but most were out of stock or had limited games. I really liked that super tv boy 3. Playstation looking controller. sweet!

I saw some on eBay only they were really expensive. One patch at a time sort of deal. I really really want one of those River Raid patches. I used to have one when I was little. I forced my dad to play River Raid with me until I beat it then sent off for the patch. Now I beat that score daily. I love those patches. I lost mine though.

Yeah, I love this messageboard. The best in the world. Of course, Atari is the best system ever created by mankind. And if your interested in some Texas Instruments or Odyssey 2 games let me know. I've got a mound of them at the thrift store. Cheap, real cheap.

I can't hear anything either. I'm on a mac and the Quicktime window opens and shows a broken file. Keep trying!

Dude, you rock.

OK, I officially hate ebay. I was trying to bid on some games and lost miserably. People pay completely outrageous prices for the dumbest crap, what the hell is going on. I sometimes wonder if they are just bidding to win and don't really care if they get the item or not. They just want to push the price up. When I started collecting the most I payed for an Atari was $7 and that included a huge pile of games. Now every two bit freak is after Atari, my local game shop won't sell them for less than $50. Thing is no one buys them. And they have been there for a year, I offered to buy them cheap but they won't budge. As though someone is going to come in and just buy them all, then pow the store will be filthy rich. I was in there one day and someone sold them a pile of games. So I snagged Mario Bros. I was pretty excited to buy it. So the dude was ringing me up and this lady manager steps up and is like "sorry, we can't sell that Mario Bros. our corporate headquarters collects rare and expensive games." Oooooh, I was pissed. But what could I do. I was so close to owning it. I even told her outright that it wasn't that rare and they were all over ebay for cheap. Nope, she didn't budge. I hate that place too now. And the worse part is I went back a week later and saw the MArio Bros in a locked bin with $32 on it. WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!. It's ridiculous.

that was the longest message ever! I'm down with some weird al "it's all about the pentiums" "you think your commodore 64 is really cool, what kind of chip you got in there, a dorrito? your desktop is a month old...thats great if your lookin for a paperweight
-
I really want one of these.
-
heck yeah, I would gladly buy one of those. Count me in!

I'm surprised no one has commented on my avatar. I drew it myself. Thank you very much. As for board games on the 2600 I think maybe you hit the most common. I can't think of any right now.

I agree, I can't get quite a few games to work. Some games just crash my system. It sucks, I want to play these games too.
-
Holy crap! I think you should bust up some Dolphin. That game is amazing. Being forced to listen to the sound wave to determine your swimming height and depth. But then again I sure would love to see some 3-D Aventure. I love that game. Definitly not Doom-like though something more like, Resident Evil. But Adventure 3-D. OH YEAH

Good lord, do you people work....ever! I am actually at work right now on this sad sad saturday, with four inches of snow outside and no ride home. This totally sucks and take a look at my message count, pathetic. Good lord I'm the loser here. I'm going to go count names in the phone book for the next three hours and pass out drunk in the snow around six. The only silver lining to this cloud . . . I'm getting paid for it. (bored, bored, bored)

Chat rooms suck, I agree that random people would and could easily abuse the system and it would be a mess for everyone. I HATE CHAT ROOMS, THEY SUCK!!!! And no I'm not coming to anyones house in Pawtucket later to visit. (HMM maybe if we all had mini cams on our computers) Nah!
-
Thanks! I almost bid on it. Whew! I just looked into a second ago and found a site listing intellivision games and saw it on their site. In case anyone looses this auction this seller has another Beauty and the Beast for sale.
-
Is this Beauty and the Beast really for the Atari? Ebay Auction

Amazingly, I don't have that star raiders. I keep passing it up fo r some reason. Maybe subconciously I was waiting for the super find of games that would have a complete copy of it. Who knows. Although the only thing I have to trade is some Magnavox Odyssey games. And only a few at that. I have three boxed and KC open. Although, I think I'm going to go buy an odyssey tomorrow. You think $30 is to much to pay for one with a couple of games? It's in pretty nice shape.
