  1. I could start with cleaning the cards border, what do you say ? I don't find the pictures so bad, what would you like to improve ?
  2. If I ever buy a modern handeld, it'll be a gp2x.
  3. How do yours work? I need to know what the value of the two resistors are. Why is there resistors anyway? Original proto boards don't use any resistors. I may be one of your biggest buyers in the world, but I need your help on using your protoboard. Already replied in PM but for those interested, the resistors and jumpers are for selecting between multiple programs burnt on the rom/flash Great if you buy me some thousands pcbs

Let us know if this works, hardware only is less pain, but when you've got no choice ...

what serial options have you got on the gps side ? since the lynx seems to be stuck to : start, eight bits, parity, stop, maybe you could use a microcontroller to receive from the gps at 4800 bps (for example in software) and send the data back at 9600 bps (with an integrated uart).

I think you can't receive 8,n,1 contiuously because there's a bit missing, you'd have to use 8,n,2 to be able to skip the parity bit, else the lynx hardware mixes the stop bit with the parity bit and the following start bit is probably causing a framing error, because it should be a stop bit.
  7. I proposed him my own pcbs but haven't heard from him for a week, maybe he's found some elsewhere.
  8. Fu@# !!! I am color blind, maybe it was why I was stuck when I was 18, I'll give it a go with a walkthrough, it was the only lynx game I owned that I could never finish.
  9. Mandelbrot is a mathematician known for the fractals that bear his name. Take a look at benoit mandelbrot in wikipedia, you probably know these fractals.
  10. not finished yet, but zaku's graphics are very nice.
  11. when you need unix command line tools, you can install cygwin, see www.cygwin.com
  12. In a level you have to start the shield and go through the floor to a hidden door (you'll loose the laser but should be alive enough to proceed to the gate) Here's what google gave me : go to Level 15 (TRYX). When it begins, turn on the shield and go through the bridge right in front of the first artillery car. If you make it through, position the ship under the bridge and keep it there until you pass the first pylon. Upon passing it, move the ship to the bottom of the screen immediately, until your past the stalactite. As soon as you pass it, move the ship back under the bridge and you will make it by the final pylon. If you succeed in clearing the obstacles, the warp will be there waiting.
  13. It was one of my first lynx games and I love it. I did a map and still have it too. Look for the secret level, it's funny.
  14. The games are encrypted and the decryption algorithm is in the lynx's bios, that's why it's needed for the emulator to play games. Homebrews need to be encrypted too, or else you'll get the "insert game" message.
  15. there's no A11 and I think that audio-in is more a digital input than some sort of audio input.
  16. I experienced some freeze with my lynx II recently too, I hadn't used it for years. The game contacts seem to have oxidized a bit. Maybe the solders in the lynx are getting old too.
  17. it's working like a charm on my lynx II, and lasts far more longer than those ni-cad I used to have back then.
  18. toki isn't that hard when you know the levels
  19. cool, something to try on my flash cards. Merci pour cette licence extremement généreuse.
  20. yes lcd backlight led arrays seem fairly common but maybe hard to buy in small quantities.
  21. How could we use this code without breaking the copyrights ? The first line of the files states RSA Data Security holds the rights.

    rampart

I've always been blown away at the island level when attacked from everywhere. This game uses colors for the ships and since I'm colorblind it's hard for me to use my cannons very efficiently, I always use too much of the cannon balls to sink a ship.
  23. Just try to find an equivalent model, from the datasheet, the stdn12N06 is an N-channel power mosfet Max Vdss of 60V, typical Rds(on) of 0,1 ohm and a maximum drain current of 12A. Shouldn't be hard to find something like that with the same layout.
  24. well if the plastic is cut off the batteries, they can easily short, if you do this be sure not to hold them together in you pocket without putting each one in a separate plastic bag. As long as you don't shot them, they are perfecly safe.
