  1. My vote goes for the DS, as it has some awesome games and can even play older GBA games.
  2. Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars Chrono Trigger And all the other stuff the guys here reccomened.
  3. Considering I think that would be salt water, it wouldn't help much.
  4. Thanks guys. Firstly, for n8littlefield's question. It's no problem, I'm just here to show whats left. The desk is all one desk. They were selling them at Sams Club for (I think) $175 to $200. It's a really nice desk. SteveW, I lived in St. Bernard Louisiana. It was right under New Orleans.
  5. Nah, Katrina happened. I think I saved most of my stuff... though I wish I knew were my boxed Earthbound was...
  6. I don't really know how much was left back. I know some stuff was, but my main consoles were spared (accept for my poor 2600, and N64). I just thought it would be nice to show you guys what was left. http://img86.imageshack.us/img86/9176/roomru6.jpg http://img226.imageshack.us/img226/1788/room2mb9.jpg I really wish I had a TV right now...
  7. I have a lot of cool games ideas. Unfortunately they're probably to complex to make. Well, for me to make, anyway.
  8. The real deal you have to clean over and over and over and over. Not to mention fight to get it to play a game.
  9. Hmm, that sucks if they can't play them all. Nintendo should make an official NES remake, and blow those other ones out of the water.
  10. A friend of mine told me that the patent on the NES expired, so companies are making their own NES systems.
  11. So I went on ebay to see if the old NES top loaders were still as expensive as the last time I had looked (which was like 2 years ago). Anyway, lo and behold there are a ton of new Top Loader NES systems made by these companies I've never heard of. What the hell happened? Where did this come from? Also, are they good? They look like they could definately save me some space on my entertainment center. http://search.ebay.com/NES-Top-Loader_W0QQfkrZ1QQfromZR8
  12. That, or sell it to a good hardware company who can bring a new Atari console into being.
  13. You can probably just ask for it and they'll give it to you. Though the Gamestops around here are a little messy (one is, anyway) the employees are really nice. Then again, I'm in the south. Most people here are nice by default.
  14. wow i didnt think the 360 would top the ps3 in so many respects... and what ign said was true "Keep in mind that Sony has a track record of over promising and under delivering on technical performance." Exactly, and I believe the gamers are noticing this. This is part of the bad buzz. The sins of their past may well be catching up to them.
  15. Sure! The PS3 could very well be a gigaflop! Sorry, I couldn't resist.
  16. Nah, the ps2 fan base is far to0 strong. The ps3 would have to do very poorly for years and then it would be the ps4 that would bomb. i dont know about that.. fans are only there if there is something there to be proud of. The sega saturn was still a great system. The ps3 has a lot of negatives against it and is already, even though its not even out yet, turning away many sony fans that i know to going to 360 or a Wii. If there is a ps4, and the ps3 does as bad as we think it will, expect a dreamcast type experience... great but short lived... the ps2 outsold the cube and x box combined like 8:1 if not an even greater margin. It would take at least a generation weaken and break that kind of fanbase. Remember the saturn wasn't the killing blow, the cast was. The saturn just broke down what the genesis built up. The same goes for the 5200, and if you take stock in forums the ps3. You forget that the PS2 was released a good while before the Gamecube and XBox were. Ironically, even though the PS2 sold more systems, the Gamecube was the only system to actually profit off of each console sold. The PS3 will get some sales, but there is a problem. The biggest is the price. Only the techies and hardcore gamers will buy the PS3 at that price. Also, the games are going to be running for around $70 to $100 each if I remember correctly. When you add the various accessories that you'll want, the system will come to nearly $800 or over depending on how many games you want. Also whats hurting it is the bad buzz. Right now (among the gamers I know), Sony is seen as a company with an ego the size of the sun. Some think it's president has lost his mind. Others see the company as greedy, and trying to milk it's fanbase for all they're worth. And the last thing is product reliability. I know a ton of people that have had defective Playstation 2s, and had a hard time getting them fixed. One guy I know went through 3 of them before he got one that didn't break down after a year or so (the mini-ps2). Microsoft is sort of indifferent in the eyes of the fanbase right now. It's not doing good in Japan at all (which is expected, because Japanese games are just freakin' crazy). But so far it hasn't done much to come off looking like pricks (Hello sony). So yeah, even if PS3 outsells the 360, I believe the 360 will be in better shape in the end. Now, the Wii. Right now it seems to me that the Nintendo Wii is the system that everyone has their eyes on. Which is a good, and bad thing. If Nintendo pulls off a solid release with few defective systems and good games - with good gameplay - then they're set. BUT, if Nintendo messes up, or their games are no good, the system will fall like Optimus Prime punching a 8 year old. The higher up you are, the harder you'll fall if you slip up. And right now Nintendo seems to be the king of the hill in terms of buzz. So, I think if Nintendo doesn't mess up, they'll be the top dog this year. If they do, then it will be a close one between the 360 and PS3. If the 360 can turn out some cool titles, I'm thinking it could topple the former king.
  17. The Wii will own them all with gameplay. As for your actual question, I think the PS3 will be notorius for breaking down. Besides it being a Sony consol (which automatically means something will be wrong on release), there's just to much crap in it to NOT have something break down. And there's really no piece of hardware that is future proof. I think it's going to be out of date in about a year. XBox 360, in my opinion, will have a longer life than the PS3. I honestly think the PS3 COULD very well bomb. This is speculation, of course.
  18. Wow, that's quite a launch there. I think I'll be waiting it out for 3 reasons. 1. To make sure the console works. Don't want a defect one, though Nintendo has always been known to make a damn good product. 2. To make sure the actual system is fun to play. No one is sure atm how Wii and it's Wiimote will work out. 3. I don't have any money right now.
  19. Competition without actually having to meet the people. Gaming is a lonely thing when you don't have friends to play with. I do, but I really don't enjoy fighting over which level we're going to play Halo on. I personally think these online arcades are going to boom into a huge next stage of gaming. Wii is already rumored to have something set up where independant developers can make games for the Wii. If that goes through, then some interesting games could very well rise. Another thing I think is looked over reguarding these online games are board games. Go, Chess, Checkers, Backgammon, reguardless of what people think, some of these games have a good audience to attract. They could also make educational games for learning math, readng, etc. As for Wii supporting ladders and high scores... I think it will. Nintendo is a pretty smart company, and if they don't have them at first, they will eventually.
  20. Please come with a game, please come with a game, please come with a game...
  21. I believe some will be, but others wont. As for the Wii itself. I personally love the concept so far. Mario Galaxy is the only game that looks Gamecubish to me, and even then that isn't a bad thing. I'm really not worried about graphics. Sure, they're nice and all, but no one turns on a game just to stare at the screen for two hours. The gameplay is what keeps you there, and keeps you playing. I agree with Moycon (HEY MAN!) that Nintendo's virtual console will need ladders, etc. Why? Because people love competition. People will play hours on end to beat a high score. That alone is the draw that classic arcade games had. It's strange, if you look at it from a certain point of view, this could be viewed as a Arcade game revival. The only difference is that you're at home, and you're not giving up all of your change. You're paying for the game, and then playing against the world. Nothing is more awesome than that.
  22. The internet is making the hunt... Boring. No longer can you get a rare title for $1.00!
  23. Yeah, it seems to be one of those hard to get games that everyone wants.
  24. Sorry to bump, but does anyone know how to get those annoying price tags Goodwill puts off of the box without tearing it? Sometimes I hate Goodwill.
