  1. I have to agree. This is the reason my grandmother hated her cellphone. It's also the reason she hates satellite TV (the menu confuses her). Simple is definately better. And if Nintendo pushes out some simple, but fun games, I can see it taking off.
  2. I wouldn't call it rumble, it feels more like a electric toothbrush. Sweet, good to know when the Trauma Center: Dentistry Edition is released we will have realistic dental tool effects! That would actually be kinda cool... "But Angie, it's only a cavity!" "It's a cavity now, but soon he could lose his teeth! You need to learn how to care about your patient's smiles, doctor!" ": /"
  3. I would build a collection. If I had an X-Box. : / Are there some rare titles I should keep an eye out for, anyway? Just incase?
  4. I went out and got Megaman ZX DS, Trauma Center DS, and Prince of Persia 2 at Toys R. Us. Also got Viewtiful Joe 2 for $5.99 at Sams Club.
  5. I've disliked Sony for quite a while now. More so when Ken started mouthing off. I prefer Nintendo and MS. Yes, they do bad shit too, sometimes. But Sony is just retarded.
  6. Well, there has to be a breaking point in software support somewhere between hardware generations, so since the GC is already badly supported, there's no point in kicking a dead horse. Nintendo might as well go with the Wii full steam, but I'm worried about the Wii for another reason: Will there be sufficient third-party support for the Wii? I know the Virtual Console is getting a lot of third-party attention, and the next six months look good for the Wii in general, but there were specific reasons why the Game Cube fell far behind in third-party support behind the PS2 and the Xbox, and I'm just wondering if Nintendo has changed anything in their business practices to address these issues. If not, then I have no reason to believe that history will not repeat itself, even if the PS3 doesn't live up to expectations. Third-party developers and publishers will always go with the most profitable avenues. I'm not sure, honestly. One thing is that both Nintendo of America, and Nintendo of Japan have new presidents. So this time, we have a whole new marketing deal, with new teams, etc. The marketing of the Wii has been a lot different than that of the Gamecube. I've also heard that Reggie has been out and about, rallying up third party support. I know he's spoken with Rockstar about GTA, etc. In all honesty the Wii is the only console I'm interested in thus far. I was interested in the Playstation 3, but Ken and his antics have completely turned me off towards it. I'm fine with the 360 at the moment, though.
  7. In terms of pure CPU power, yes, unfortunately that means little to nothing when it comes to visual quality of games. Well, at least it doesn't run off the souls of dead orphans like the PS3. It's a scientific fact that when you turn on the Playstation 3, 3 orphans, 2 nuns, and 4 baby seals instantly die. The Playstation's Cell is people I tells you! PEOPLE! Edit: I can't find the "Post Reply" button. Edit: Oh, wait...
  8. It's probably because you can't just walk into a store and find them. You have to order them online, etc. Takes the fun away. I don't understand that logic. You can't just walk into any store and find most older US games either. Looking for them is part of the fun. Also, games can be ordered online that can't be found anywhere else, like the hombrews that are sold by this very site for instance. madhatter667, which website ripped you off? I heard some good things about www.japangamestock.com, but I haven't tried them yet. They have some games I'm eying and are not too bad price wise. For newer import games, I have been using www.play-asia.com, which has been working out quite well. I also got some SFC imports from some Japanese sellers on ebay. I mean you can't really walk into Goodwill and find a stack of Famicom games laying around. Well, you could, but it's unlikely. Also, most classic gaming stores don't have Famicom games. Now I could see ordering a Famicom online, just to get a few titles for it. But collecting Famicom in the US just seems a little silly. Running into NES games isn't a common occurence, so finding Japanese games in the US would be extremely rare.

  10. From what I understand, Gamepro (or the one that owns Gamestop) said that the pre-orders sold out quickly. Each store has between like 8 to 35 pre-orders each.
  11. The DS touch actually added to a lot of games in my opinion. As someone said above, the devs sometimes take it to far, though. Trauma Center, Brain Age, Nintendogs, etc, wouldn't really work without it. I bet the Wii will also be great at RTS games. Would be nice to see a Warcraft game on the Wii.
  12. Nintendo needs to remake their NES top loader. I think they'd be surprised how well it would sell. Though it would make finding NES games more of a bitch.
  13. The Wii actually has me interested in gaming again. For a while I completely dropped console games for PC gaming.
  14. You can play using a regular Cube controller, but only in the single-player game. In a multi-player game, each player must have a GBA. You don't need to have any cart in the GBA's cart slot, just a Link Cable plugged in (the Game Cube downloads data to each GBA via the cable at boot time). I've played the game from beginning to end with two of my friends, and believe me when I say multi-player rocks! If you've got friends with GBAs, it's worth buying the Link Cables just to play this game. What about single player? Is it any good?
  15. Its funny how only certain parts of that SNES turned yellow... Strange.
  16. I was wondering, do you HAVE to own a GBA to play this game? It looks interesting, but I don't want to have to buy one of those wires AND the GBA game. : /
  17. Wow. I'm impressed. I have gone through 3 PS2s in five years, but then again maybe I put too much wear and tear on them. Everyone I know is at least one number 2. A buddy of mine went through 3 also. Eventually he took all the good parts out of it, but the shell back together, and brought it back. Anywho, I'm still on #1, but my first one was a slimline, so...
  18. Gamecube memory card at a pawn shop for $8.00. Don't know if it works, yet. Gotta see if I can get my GC working.
  19. Okay, for some reason my Gamecube isn't working like my N64. I'm beginning to suspect it's the in/out connection I bought for it. It's a universal connector (I lost my old one in Katrina). I'm wondering if I might have to change the channel to 4 or something. The thing works for my SNES, but not for my GC or N64. Halp!
  20. Hey all! I'm looking for a program to video capture some SNES and NES footage for something I'm making. I was wondering if anyone knew a program to do this with. Thanks!
  21. A blu-ray player right now is enough to make the PS3 look good... But then you can get a HD-DVD player for your already bought 360. That kind of throws that out of the window. Anyway, I have a variety of systems and whatnot put close together, they've never overheated. My room can get hot, my computer = never overheats. My advice, if you buy one, don't leave it on if the air conditioner is off.
  22. Last time I checked that game is friggin expensive. Good find!
  23. Been wanting this game, now it may be worth buying. http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=180044 $19.99! Everywhere else I've seen it, it was $29.99. Good timing too.
