1. Does anyone know a link where I can get a Cocktail Cabinet schematic? I have an old 486 with mame and like 20 games and want to build on for my living room. I think it will make a good conversation piece.
2. What are you getting at? Did I miss something?
3. Going back and seeing what happened with the Jaguar, what would you have done differently? See, I have some ideas, but who am I you may ask? I was working as a videogame sales person trying, in vain, to sway people towards the Jaguar, as I thought it was a system with tons of potential. Here goes. !.) Bundle the console with Iron Soldier instead of Cybermorph. I really don't think I need to explain this one. 2.) This may sound crazy, due to when the Jaguar "Should" have been "Hot". No SNES or Genesis ports. The system really needed more original games. Games like DDV and Dragon didn't help the system at all, as a matter of fact, it like other games helped to hurt the system. 3.) Finish the games before release. Games like Kasumi Ninja, Checkered Flag, and Fight For Life were obviously not finished as they were not even close to what they should have been! Believe me, I was at the E3 when Atari tried to showcase KN and Cybermorph! Nobody cared because SNESW had DK Country. They might have cared if the games were finished. 4.) Listen to the consumer. Instead of giving them what you think they want, give them what you know they want, see the difference? 5.) Don't spend tons of money on stuff you will not muse, the JAG VR helmet, anyone? Just a thought, but they should have pushed Iron Soldier as the Flagship game for the Jaguar versus Cybermorph. Spend money and you'll make money.
4. When I worked at Gamedude, there was a pamphlet we got from Atari saying that there was a version of Alien VS Predator coming out on the Jaguar CD system. Is there a Beta version out there available? I see that the Demolition Man Proto was found, so what about AVP, or did Rebellion not get any work on the CD version done?
5. You know what the problem with alot of the Jaguar Catalog of games? Alot of them don't even come close to really tapping into what the Jaguar can do. I was so upset with all of the SNES and Genesis ports to the system. The machine would have lasted longer, by a long shot, if more original games that showed off the power of the hardware would have came out. Us at Gamedude, back in the day, were waithing for Fight For Life, AVP, and IS2 on the Jaguar CD. Mortal Kombat 3 would have been nice too. None came out except for IS2 and that was after the Jaguar was already considered quiet dead. It really was a bummer. We loved networking the Jags and playing DOOM though. It was fun.
6. Yeah, I guess I can do that, as long as I don't have to deal with those Telegames USA punks, they really suck ass.
7. I don't know, I really enjoyed WTR the few times I've gotten to play it. I find it more fun than most of the F-1 racers out there. I really want the game, I just wish that I had a store near me that sells Jaguar stuff.
8. I really wish someone would hack Checkered Flag and fix it. The game needs a better frame rate and it also need new controls in a complete overhaul. I would also love to see the AI fixed as well.
9. Checkered Flag and DDV seem to be the two games getting the votes on this list, which is a shame whren you think about it considering that both games came from great pedagree. Checkered Flag on the Lynx was an awesome game for that system and we all know the story with Double Dragon. What went Wrong?
10. I was just over at the Telegames U&K site and I must say that they are damn expensive. I didn't see IS2 listed as an orderable item. Am I missing something?
11. I have left a list of Lynx and Jaguar games I want, so here is a list of games I'd be willing to trade for said games. Please pm me if interrested. 12. Thanks, that's a retarded design!! 960787 That's pretty standard procedure for products like this. Even the Atari 2600 carts have the screw hidden under the label, making it difficult to disassemble a cartridge without carefully removing the label or damaging the label. Oddly, Atari did not do this on the Atari 5200, which has the screw on the back of the cartridge. ..Al 960838 I think that Atari may have knew people would be turned off by the terrible 5200 joystick and went at the carts half assed!
13. Actually, just because it is a Sega game doesn't mean it wouldn't be licensed out. The Turbo Grafx has Phantasy Zone, Space Harrier, and Columns on it, and those all came out on the Genesis. The NES had After Burner, Shinobi, And again, Phantasy Zone. The Nes also had Atari Games on it in the form of Gauntlet and Klax, for an example. They were ported by TENGEN. Companies like Sega, Atari and Hudson were not so clingy with licensing out games until Nintendo started with it's heavy hitting exclusivity deals. Still, if Tengen had made games for the lynx, we very well could have seen games like Shinobi, a sega game, on the lynx because they had a licensing agreement with Sega.
14. Could it be that Midway has taken Acclaim's place?
15. Also, if you want to increase the frame rate, you can also add fog. The funny thing here is that the game ends up looking like a N64 game, the problem with a higher frame rate though is the controls are still screwed up. This game "Could've been", but "Wasn't".
16. Sorry I didn't put out a broader list, as I said before, I was listing games I have heard many complaints. As I said, I don't agree with some of the games on the list, just like you all. Please don't compare me to the Academy Awards, I'll cry.
17. I keep missing the cool stuff. No one has responded to my Jaguar want list as of yet either. I have gotten some response to the Lynx list though, so I guess I can't complain too much!
18. Thanks, that's a retarded design!! 960787 Not if you want to ensure a customer didnt swap out CF for Atari Carts and try to return it 960825 True, I would have done it back in the day! I was going to say something about the screw earlier, but just decided not to.
19. Well, Space Ace seems to play the way Space Ace has always played. I used to jam on this game way back in the day at the Santa Cruz Boardwalk! I have tons of fond memories associated with this game and Dragon's lair as well!
20. I don't know what the general politics on this subject is, but how many of you feel the same? I really thought that Telegames was the last "Big" company to support the Jaguar and Lynx. Songbird has done a great job of keeping it alive, but it still pisses me off when I go to the Telegames web site and see that they do not support "Orphaned" consoles anymore. I still do not see the reason that they made this decision. There are obviously enough fans out there still that would support them as a company. I STILL can't find Iron Soldier 2, World Tour Racing, and Towers II, and I don't know if I ever will now. Imagine what would still be going on in the real Atari camp if Telegames had not sold out. I just get tired of companies forgetting where they came from. If I ever got big, I'd still make games for the older systems because I'd still respect what got me into gaming in the first place! It just gets frusturating!
21. Hey, I agree with you, I like quiet a few of the games on the list, but I have heard complaints about all of them. I really find it sick when I hear people complain about DOOM, as I LOVE the Jaguar version. Rayman is the bomb as well. I play Iron Soldier all the time and am looking for the Second one as we speak.
22. I have seen all of the games listed in the poll as the worst Jaguar game ever, so I ask you to vote and tell us why you chose the game you voted for. Let's let the poll speak for itself and see which game can be officially seen as the worst Jaguar game ever. Kasumi Ninja for me, as the game is just a terrible game period. Plus the fact that I can say fighting games like "Way Of The Warrior", "War Gods", and "Criticom" are better games. I was at the E 3 the year Atari was calling this game the MK II killer, all I can say is that we at the Game Dude crew knew that this was indeed the darkest day Atari had seen up until that day.
23. The only deacent Double Dragon one on one fighting game was the one on the Neo Geo. That game is actually somewhat fun to play. I have it and actually play it from time to time. My friends and I actually get a kick out of it. If DDV had been anything like this game on any system, it would have actually been a tolerable game! Oh, and I actually enjoyed Bubsy on the Jaguar. It was better than any of the other versions. Next thing I'll hear is that Zool 2 was crap, Sheesh!
