Just, Wow. This is insane man. You did this because Eric did what to you? Pissed in your corn flakes? Waxed your legs in your sleep? Walked by you and got you with that irritating kick to the crotch? I mean, just, Wow. What a prickish thing to do.

Just read that this release is still happening. Came over to make sure and am glad to see it is still slated for an impending release. Eric, you make this happen and you Da' Man!

-
Nice. This will eb a regular release later, yes? I want one but am not making it to the show.

Interesting... mine had the Atari logo on the plug too. I thought the cable might have been replaced (though the idea that no one would bother on such a lame controller didn't occur to me at the time). So, did Datasoft buy the cables from Atari, or were they unauthorized "excess production" from overseas, as so many counterfeit electronic goods and components today are?
Sorry to do this man, but I love the Avatar. Spaceman Spiff rocks!
Back on track, I wonder how many cables with the Atari Logo are still out there floating unattached to anything?

The game gets insane when it gets faster. That's about the time I am getting a littie irritated with the walls. However, it still isn't that bad.
-
My cousin had one of those when we were growing up. Weren't too happy with it either as it just sat there. Pretty rare stuff though, if I remember right.
-
Hmm, cool that I got someone who hadn't played the game to give it a go too. I really do like it. Very different for what it is. Not to say that there aren't any other maze games on the 2600, but there is just something very different here. I need to check out some of those other titles mentioned too. I do have Commando Raid and Towering Inferno though. Cool stuff as I didn't really pay attention to the fact that those were also made by US Games.

-
Damn. I have to admit. Not being a fan of Halo, this is easily the best thing I have ever seen from this franchise. The game looks slick in the videos I have seen of it. Seems to be selling well too. Excellent!

Hello all. Been a VERY long time since I have posted in the general areas of Atari Age. Well, the system has been seeing quite a bit of play lately. Had it and the C64 hooked up lately. I have tracked down some games too I had been meaning to get as well as having a few games fall into my lap I had never thought of getting. One was "Entombed" by US Games. I can say that I have never honestly heard anyone talk about the game. I am grooving on it too. My question is what you all think of the game and are there any other well put together games from US games I need to be looking at? I was quite caught off guard by this game as it is quite well put together and had never really heard anything good about US Games as a publisher. I guess I need to take some more gambles on games I have never heard of before?

PSHAH! Sinistar on the 2600! Excellent!

Atari certainly has to be commended for attempting games like this on the Atari 2600. It's not a bad port, either, all things considering.

..Al
Yeah, and I suppose that if someone wanted a cart of this, you do make custom carts.
-
I can only imagine Sinistar on the 2600

Any chance on seeing boxes for SINISTAR available soon?
??? Okay, I totally missed that Sinistar was released for the 2600! This is going to leave me broke soon!
5200..

..Al
Just noticed that now. Still, I got one of those too and the video looks quite promising.

For those who are interested, I have added the following items to the AtariAge Store:
- Turbo (2600)
- Duck Attack (2600)
- K.O. Cruiser (2600)
- Chunkout (2600)
- Worm! (7800)
- Squares! (ColecoVision!)
- AtariAge Shirts (S, M, L, XL)
If you want a shirt, I suggest you grab one fast. I doubt they'll last too long now that they are in the store. I counted 44 shirts this morning, and only a handful of Small and Mediums among them. Here's a link to a page that shows the latest products added to the store (I haven't updated the store front page yet):

..Al
Awesome! Just what I have been waiting to see!

-
I need to upgrade the store software and add new titles to the store (Turbo, Duck Attack, K.O. Cruiser, etc). Once I've done that, I'll have the store back up.

..Al
Nice! Dungeon and K.O. Cruiser in one swoop! You just made my day Al!

-
Man, I am way late to the party on this one and am thoroughly impressed with this game. I see that it was released at the CGE, but will it end up in the Atari Age store as well? This and Dungeon would make an excellent addition to my collection for sure!
-
Hey, having a really bad day. Anyone have a loose 2600 that works for cheap? Doesn't need to have the power adapter or controllers, I just need it to work and have the cord that goes to the television. Please let me know.
Jason
Please lock this as I got one already.

-
Crazy as Hell time lately. Payment sent.
I Know, I was late . . .
-
Any idea when the store will be back up this time? I know you are probably working hard on something, but the itch to get Dungeon and the poster finally has proven too much for me. I wants the game!

-
I've got some of those...I'll send you a PM as well...
Excellent. I appreciate it.

sh3-rg is your friend going to add the missing DOOM 2 monsters like the Invisible demon, Cyberdemon and the Heavy weapon dude so on and so on, one other thing is the double-barreled shotgun going to be added too?
Sorry, that's not going to be possible. What he's doing here is essentially using what he's learned about the Jag Doom wad, taking Doom 2 level data, editing it to make it compatible with the Jag Doom we know & sticking it in there, similar kind of thing that 2600 people do when they work on existing games to make them do stuff they didn't originally. It's probably not exactly as easy as I made it sound but he said it's not that difficult - just using tools that are already out there & applying what he learned.
I just don't get excited over these "impending releases" anymore. We see such announcements all the time in the Jag scene, but very few ever come to fruition. If anything ever comes of this I will be the first to thank the developers but I am not holding my breath...Well I'm not sure you could call him a developer as such, since he's essentially only showing us the results of (what I'd personally call) ROM hacking and level editing here, but even I got a bit excited about it & I'm not known for getting giddy about many 15 year old games. There is no impending release & he's not made any announcements as far as I know. As it stands there are now at least 3 current attempts to work on existing Jaguar Doom stuff & each interests me in different ways - what belboz is doing is by far the most interesting & advanced from what I can see & what he told me about it is very promising for all of us - I'd say it's worth getting excited about. So I'll remain positive, hopeful & a bit excited myself

As for this Doom 1.5 stuff, while the vast majority of Jag fans would probably be quite interested in taking a copy of the levels my mate has edited, converted & injected, it's probably quite wrong to even think about releasing it & it's been made clear that if it was even to leak out it wouldn't be long before iD (or, more correctly, ZeniMax Media) were pointed in the right direction & came looking for the 'culprit'... whether they could really be arsed about a few dozen fans playing level data from Doom II on a console probably none of them even know exists is open to debate, but I'm not interested in having that debate or giving any reason to have it - I'm just making videos of the results of someone else's work & that's the limit of my involvement. I suppose he could take it with him when he goes to the next JagFest, to show people what he's done in person, but that's up to him & depends if he even plans to visit another JagFest.
When I get a minute, what I'll do is make some more videos of the remaining levels he's converted (4 & 5 (6 seems almost right but there is a little gfx bug so I'll see if anything else turns up today) - last night I asked him how much more he was planning on doing & he said 'the whole of the first episode with hex editing' - at the time I didn't think what that might mean, but it seems like everything up to the first boss fight. So then I'll leave it up to him whether he wants to talk more about it himself or whatever (I'm getting quite behind with my own jag stuff tbh and can't really spare much of the little bit of free time I have left while there is still so much to do).
Hope that clears things up a bit & isn't too disappointing to some people. I suppose the last thing he wants is any kind of legal issues when all he wants to do is work on Jag Doom & show off some of the things he's learned about it so far with this Doom 1.5 as he calls it. I know he's been reading all your replies here & on other forums & appreciates the positive comments & the friendly suggestions/warnings

So, how far along is this project anyway> It's interesting to see that DOOM II might finally make an appearance on the Jaguar CD. Would be nice if your buddy could also pop in the musicla score there as well, -kza-. Too bad the original Jaguar DOOM didn't support the music though or it might have been easy. You'd have to write it all from scratch though.

Just . . .Wow. I could buy a Lynx system and a TON of games for it at that price. And boxed at that. Sheesh.
