I have a stack of games with Buy It Nows and things to check out.
-
I have ideas for 2600 games:
Switchboard
Basically, take one game's boards, and add in the other game's action, and you have switch board. Perhaps additional ideas could be throw in there.
For example, you could try Indy 500 tag on a Combat board. Or take the Indy 500 cars, add firing capability, and add them to a Combat board. With some modifications, you could do Venture Combat (tanks instead of face/arrow guy) or Pyramid (circular?) Kaboom- which would be sort of Tempest-esque.
Eh, perhaps these idea aren't that great on paper. Or screen, as it were.

Care to create a software bundle
Please explain ?
I mean, when people start programming to take advantage of the voice synth, perhaps you could sell a multicart with a few of voice enhanced games on it with the synth for additional cash? Or just a couple of carts (rather than a multi?)
PM Sent!
-
I know the margin is slim on these homebrew items, so I almost hate to ask, but any deal for buying both the Vec and 2600 voice products? Of course, I live in the US.
Care to create a software bundle (for additional cash) at some point? I recommend it...

Thanks for looking, ian

So bummed I missed this. I probably would have jumped on it at $200. If anyone has another... PM me!

That game must be slightly more unusual than your Criminal Pursuit cart, Rick!

Firstly, I have a bunch of megadrive stuff on eBay- check my auctions at:

Price: $15 + Shipping ($3 to US or Canada if you want to risk case damage in a bubble mailer or $4.50 in a box) or $5 to anywhere else.
---------------------------
Japanese Playstation Themepark complete in case with disc and manual, case has a crack on the back.
Price: $8 + Shipping (see above.)
----------------------------------------------
2 Loose Megadrive games:
Whip Rush
Klax
Both in good condition with mild end label wear and a tiny price tag tear on Whip Rush.
$4.00 apiece, $7 for both, shipping $2 for one or both, $3 to Canada, $5 to the rest of the world.
---------------
Wimbledon Japanese Game Gear loose cart
$3.50, $1.50 to ship to US, $2 to Canada and $3 to the world. Free shipping for this item with any other purchase.
I take paypal and whatever, but I likes paypal mostest.

@ianoid, the poster is all the instructions that are included (I know this because I bought the game new back in the 80's).
Then why didn't you tell us all about the jumbo box!
-
Take about inbreeding! You guys are talking about the same carts
Cheers,
Ben
Ben, did you get your carts from Matt?
This is typical of the high level (read: expensive) cart scene- everyone is just passing the same items around, giving the illusion that there are several out there. So many items that sell come back into circulation. Perhaps we'll see another (?) Air Raid pop up.

Did Bounty Bob Strikes Back for 5200 come with instructions, or just the poster? I got the box/poster at CGE this year, but I just don't know whether there was more in the box.
-
Funny, I got my pair recently for $1000 from a respectable collector. In fact, he paid the same amount for the pair as well, not too long ago.
Consider offering them for $1000 if $1200 doesn't strike a nerve.
-
Christian,
Those cases are quite uncommon in the states. Alot more sold in Australia for some reason. In any case (phew!), I wouldn't have passed one up at that price. I think that you could get the cash out of the setup alone on eBay and then keep the case, breaking even.
I have never seen one of these on a tradelist, and I have never found one in the US. I know they're out there, but I think that's a nice score. If you're a price snob, I can see why you'd pass it up. My standards have loosened, and I have come to paying a little more in the wild than I used to, particularly for unusual stuff.
The 5200 cases are even more rare. I managed to get one off eBay with the box (slip on cardboard sleeve actually.)
-
I don't know anyone that does major repairs. Fixing up a battery compartment or controller is generally feasible.
Of note is that the Tomy electromechanicals (like your H&M) are particularly hard to fix because they have complex guts that are hard to fit back together once taken apart. I suggest keeping your old one as a keepsake and picking up another on eBay- should cost you $5-$15 without shipping, although I'm not that up on prices for those.
But before you do anything, make sure that you are using NEW batteries.
-
So someone has been trying to get you to sell it to them off eBay for $3100? Is it just payment that's an issue? Really, if I wanted something and I was willing to pay $3100, I would probably be willing to pay $3250.
It will be interesting to see where this one goes- and how long it takes for another copy of Air Raid to come out of the closet. If I were to win it, I'd try to remove the label and open it up. Of course, I'd need some advice on how to do that in the safest way possible- CPUWIZ?...

I used to have one. Traded it to Ianoid man moons ago.
Tempest
And I couldn't be happier. I'm so into having that cart. Thanks again!

Sorry I was excited and wanted to hurry up and get this up there not much wrong with borrowing a few facts from his auction especially when you are thrilled beyond words and nervous as
I'm really just giving you a hard time. I'll be bidding. Good luck!

The Air Raid auction from two weeks ago:
Title: AIR RAID MEN A VISION the rarest atari 2600 video game!
'This is it!! Perhaps the most sought after video game of all times for collectors out there. The rarest of the rare. Most Video Game Aficionados believe that less than 20 of these games were ever produced and only 5 have actually been accounted for. Atariage.com rate's this cartridge as a 10 on it's rarity guide (Unbelievably Rare). This auction is for the cartridge only. The cartridge was the center peice of a huge video game collection and was well taken care of. The cartridge is is excellent condition and is in good working order. This particular title almost never comes up for sale. Your collection of vintage games is incomplete without this cartridge. This may be your only chance to get this rare game. The winning bidder will be the envy of collectors the world over. '
The current Air Raid auction:

'Up for auction here is one of the rariest games you will see. Perhaps the most sought after video game of all times for collectors out there. The rarest of the rare. Atariage.com rate's this cartridge as a 10 on it's rarity guide (Unbelievably Rare). The cartridge is is excellent condition and is in good working order. This title rarely is for sale anywhere.. I have personally played this game and know that it does work. This would make a great addition to your game collection to have this gem. I am willing to take more pictures if you need me to please email me. '
Talk about the laziest $3000 you're trying to make! If I have a $3k item, I'll at least write my own description.
I definitely have stolen descriptions before, but usually just specs from company websites for new things.

In this recent topic, I forsaw this phenomenon:
Who wants to bet that a few of these carts come out of the woodwork because of this auction, and that some sell for a bit less, and that some have reserves at $3000 for those 'if I can get that much I'll sell mine' sellers.eBay is becoming so predictable!

I think the real question, if you can get permission to release it, is whether it should be released for 8-bit computers or 5200...
I favor 5200, but then again, it's just incredible to have this out there at all! Nice work Tempest!
-
From LJK Enterprises out of St. Louis, MO.
I haven't tested it. Maybe I can learn some 6502 with it some day.
I also managed to get 8-bit Mouskattack on disk. I'll have to take it to CGE next time John "Jawbreaker" Harris is there to have it signed!

My understanding is that some countries (in the middle east?) don't use toilet paper. The right hand is reserved for that function. And that is why they shake hands with the left hand there. Neat, huh? Perhaps a distortion of a rumor of an untruth. Perhaps not.
Futher more, there may be no John to unclog. Many countries have the hold in the floor septic system. Who needs a porcelain throne, when a hole in the floor will do!
