  1. Yeah, I dig lightgun games but they were never really supported more than 3 games on each system. I guess pheripherals are just doomed to fail no matter what. I almost bought that Guncon for my PS2 when it came out, I'm glad I didn't waste the money.
  2. Something your not taking into account is that Nintendo is busy building all of these cool things and making a few games that support them....but the 3rd parties aren't. Nintendo is making offbeat stuff like that constantly but your laying all the blame on them for lack of use when they're just putting cool stuff like the GBA/Gamecube link cable out there...and none of the 3rd parties take advantage. At least they try, that's all I'm saying. If they build a feature like that, you can't expect them to dedicate all of their time to making 20 games that support it.... They are a little busy working on the next Zelda, Mario, GBA games/Gamecube games/DS Games/Whatever and still managing to release at least a couple games that support the special hardware. Don't bash them for giving 3rd parties opportunities that they ignore. And there's no reason why the 3rd parties should feel like they have to use it either....but it would be nice to see it get used more.
  3. BUt having fun right! Thats all that matters to me, I don't mind if I have a losing record as long as its fun. I hate ethose SOBs that just want a winning record and log off if they are going to lose..... 971004[/snapback] Agreed, I always finish out the circuit whether I'm losing or not. People that drop out should be given a penalty of some sort. Of course someone's battery might run out or need to quit for some other reason but there should still be a penalty. But other than that it's fun. I really wish they would have included Battlemode on wi-fi.
  4. I'm "rocko" just so ya guys know. So far I've been getting my ass kicked online
  5. Back when I was playing the 2600 in the 80's, I was full of wishful thinking of games like GTA existing one day.....and now we got it and people bitch. Well I understand the bitching because todays developers seem to think that just because we can make games in 3d that everything should be 3d..... 2d and 3d, blocky and hi-res, those are just different styles of art as far as I'm concerned, no one type is better than the other. Same for the music and sound, I like my beepy music and in a game like GTA I like the studio music. Know what I mean?
  6. I love my Genesis and Super Nintendo....those systems were the peak of console gaming. Both of them damnit. (I love my NES, 7800 and Gamecube too) Whatever the Genesis didn't have...the Super did. Whatever the SNES didn't have the genesis did. Super Mario World is a damn masterpiece, it bores me nowadays but I'll never forget how killer it was when it came out. Same for Sonic....I remember everyone wanted a Genesis after Sonic came out. One thing I'll never understand though is why the original Shinobi arcade game was never ported to the Genesis.......Damn you Sega! But Strider rocked! And you can't get that on the SNES surprisingly.
  7. Painline I've never used those things and I never will.... I used the cords from them to convert my NES pads to work on the 7800. I'm no electronics expert but it looks to me like it would work if you cross the right wires....considering the SMS already works as a one button controller for the 7800...seems like button 2 just needs to make the connection. I'm not willing to cut up my SMS cord to find out since the NES controller is working for me
  8. Yesssss! I decided to sacrifice another controller and start from scratch, finally got it working! Cool beans.
  9. It's definitely all four directions, guess I'll go stare at it for another hour or so Thanks
  10. Has anyone else had a problem with the d-pad? I've just spent an hour checking it over and everything checks out completely ok according to the directions.... So I'm not really sure why it's not working
  11. Both of the buttons are working now but my d-pad is unresponsive......damnation! So close!
  12. I love everything that you just said there. We need to start a gang.
  13. I agree. We all know a boss when we see one. Karnov at the end of the first level of Bad Dudes, Ken-Oh in Shinobi....The dudes at the end of each level in Kung Fu Master, Now the voodoo fucks at the end of Jungle Hunt......I wouldn't call them a boss since all you do is jump over them....they're just part of the game. My point, it's pretty easy to know a boss character when you see one. And Zaxxon definitely does qualify....Isn't it obvious.. You may not have to beat him but it's still the big bad boss character and you know it. BTW, what does Willy look like in the 2600 double dragon? I haven't suffered through the game to find out.
  14. I haven't played it online but the game does rock!
  15. Sweet! That's the same instructions I was following but this one is an updated version, thanks dude. ---Allan- I'm sure it's possible but good luck finding instructions for doing it. The SNES controller functions a bit different than the others....see here: List of controller connections
  16. Found another site of interest: Gamepad Connections Not that it helps a whole lot
  17. I didn't have to use a converter for my SMS pads They worked fine with the 7800 to begin with. Hmmm Wait maybe I'm an idiot Come to think of it I'm not sure if I have any 2 button games..... And with double dragon on the way please don't tell me I'm gonna have to modify my SMS pads.... Noooooo!
  18. Well now....That clears it up I was wondering if it was a revision. Know of any links for converting a revised pad anyone? I haven't found anything yet.
  19. Trust me when I say there was nothing there at all! I broke the rest of the circuits but there just wasn't anything at that top-left portion. On the diagram you posted it's completely obvious as you can see the circuits leading up to that point where the resistors are at, unfortunately not on my pad. I'll dig it out and try to get a picture of it later. Just bought Mario Kart DS so I'm not real worried about it right now hehe BTW, it is an original NES pad too, not an off-brand or anything.
  20. I tried converting an NES pad and failed.... I think the main reason is because in the directions I followed (The only ones I could find on the net) the diagram of the nes pad showed 2 resistors on the top-left of the NES pad that you are supposed to remove and replace with the Atari resistors. My pad didn't have any resistors up there......is this maybe a difference between UK and American pads?(I'm from the US, and I'm not even sure if the directions were UK or not, just a guess.) Anyway I went ahead and gave it a shot ignoring the parts about the resistors since they didn't exist and ended up with an unresponsive pad. Has anyone else run into this?
  21. It's worth a shot man, I'd like to see it happen.
  22. Use a Sega Master system controller bro! I use it for all my Atari's and my C64. Don't know what I'd do without it. D-pad and 2-buttons, it's all you need.
