I can't wait. I played so much Euchre in college.
Casino already has a good version of single deck blackjack. But a multi-deck version, where you could adjust the rules and number of decks? I'd love to see that.
-
Weren't you having Q*Bert or Q*Bert's Cubes act up? And Scott Stilphen had though it was somehow related to the power cord or connection?
Maybe the power to my brain is going.

-
And you replaced that AC adapter that was acting up? (I hope I remembered that correctly.)

Does flicker affect collision detection?Anybody?
C'mon Stan! Haven't you played Defender yet?

I had always thought of that feature as the Inviso option, activated at the same time you fire.

I always wanted to see a movie version of the sequel, Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator. Those Vermicious Knids scared the crap out of me as a kid. But then, so did Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Some TV show recently parodied it--I believe Family Guy--and after the scene on the boat, there was the line "This is a kid's movie?"

I must add that Video Pinball was the first cart I took apart to see what it looked like inside. Yes, even before Combat.

-
If I had one of the cart selectors for my NES, I might actually use my NES.

I say keep the Stargate/Defender II out of the debate because it's a sequel, not a clone of Defender. I don't see how the control scheme applies to whether it is the best clone or not.
And oh yes, Stargate does rock.

Whoops, that's what I get for still using my old version of O2EM.
Sorry another guy! Didn't mean to leave you out.

*only the best freakin movie, ever
My post about not being called Francis--I was quoting Stripes. Trey chimed in with the punchline (from the Sargent.)
It was just that your early posts about not being called *** reminded me of the movie. It's in the scene when all the new enlisted men introduce each other, maybe twenty minutes to a half-hour into the movie. A hilarious movie.

Leggo my Eggomania.

Chopper Command hands down. Back in 1983, this game had my friend wishing he hadn't given up his 2600 for a Colecovision. Heh, heh

-
Just want to add, for those who don't know, Dan Boris is author of O2EM.
Thanks Dan for bringing the Odyssey 2 back to life!

I have problems with Pitfall II as well. It is just a touchy cart, takes a while to get it to work and then, if you slightly touch it during gameplay, it blanks out. I don't know if this is just bad luck with the cart I have or what. (The DPC chip, maybe?) Anyone else have trouble with Pitfall II?
(This is on a four switch woodgrain, my most reliable 2600.)

It could be the easter egg in Adventure, where a secret room displays the designers name. But Atari left that feature in all of the cartiridges, to my knowledge.
-
I've always wanted to play those Master Strategy games, using the game boards and actually being able to find a couple people who will play.
Especially The Great Wall Street Fortune Hunt (I am an accountant

Wow. Verrrrrry clever. kind of like putting a humidifier and a dehumidifer in the same room and letting them duke it out. (5 point reference.)Steven Wright.
Oh and this is a cool idea. (The chess matches) It's amazing the 2600 can even play chess.

I like Robot Tank so much that I hardly ever hook-up my 7800, since it won't work on the system.
I really like both Battlezone and Robot Tank.
One thing in Robot Tank's favor is its difficulty level. Battlezone is a much easier game.

After a couple of recent experiences, I am starting to seriously wonder, why are people these days so quick to disparage Atari?Hell, I've disparaged the 2600 plenty through the years. Of course, never more so than in 1984-85, when the market died. The only reason I still have all my original Atari carts is that I didn't think anyone else would want them.
Some of it could be I was tired of defending the sucky graphics and limited gameplay. Yes--back then. I can't imagine trying to sell the 2600 to kids now if they are not open to it.
But then, you grow up and realize there is more to life than what you see at first glance. For me, no other system has the magic that the 2600 has.

Mozilla sounds interesting. But can a complete computer ignoramus set it up and use it? I had to have liquid sky's help just to get my custom avatar working.
And it turns out the problem was Internet Explorer. Had to use Netscape to get the image under 15K. -
Don't call me Francis.
Any you guys call me Francis

Best looking 2600 game?

Some may disagree with me, but I think the play in Quadrun is weak. Sure, it's proably plays better than most of the rare games, but that isn't saying much.
Oh, reason I've played it? My brother has it and he is not even an active Atari collector.
