More likely you had a quick hiccup in the power. Even a half-a-second is enough to reset most digital clocks, but it's not enough to discharge the capacitors in a computer's PSU. Thus the result is that your clocks will all be flashing, but your computer will still be running.
I wouldn't worry about it. The power grid near you probably lost a switching station and rerouted through a backup. (Stupid squirrels; always running into the power stations...) That creates a little power hiccup, but takes less than a second for the power to be rerouted.

Don't be so hard on yourself. It was great to see you there, and your display at least provided some games for everyone to play. I noticed the keyboard sitting there all alone (figured out pretty quick that it was a lonely demo unit), but I wasn't too concerned about it. The way I saw it, you were there as the author of Commodork. By that token, your display was very cool!

BTW, I didn't realize you had a blog here. I just noticed your comments on getting Slashdotted. My own take on what Slashdotting feels like? It's like standing in the middle of a maelstrom wishing you could find a corner to hide in. It's an incredibly jolting experience, and yet you feel so alive!

Try melting some American Cheese slices on the hotdog, then throwing some sport peppers on top. Yummy! Just make sure you purchase high-quality dogs. They cost a bit more, but they'll taste worlds better than the Oscar Meyer junk. HQ dogs can often be identified with names like "Chicago Style" and "Vienna Beef".
