    I don't use emulation, so the pacman hacks are out of the question for now. I am a little gun shy with some sites right now after having my hard drive replaced due to a virus. I am hoping to get Midnight mutants soon.

    That is too early for a game system. Wait for your son to be 3 or 4 years old at least. Sega Pico maybe before then. I don't know anyone with that system. I got other systems in mind, but I don't have any experience with the type of games your talking about.

    When you think about it, best of all time should be Tetris. It's on every platform there is for gaming and completes all aspects of the criteria of being a top X game.

    Mario being first is debatable but, they got it right it having phantasy star one not final fantasy one or dragon Warrior one on the list and said Phantasy Star was the first one of the three coming out in the states and outclasses both in almost in every Category. They share my thoughts in that one. I've consider Dragon Warrior getting to much credit in rpgs to people in america, when Phantasy had been under rated for years.

     

    I also was pleased that Tecmo Bowl was higher then madden.

    I am somewhat surprised Soul Blade hasn't got too much mention, considering how popular it's Soul Calibur successor is. Someone mentioned Raystorm just recently. That's a pretty near arcade perfect port. I always liked the music (has two soundtracks to choose from) and the co-op play. If you are into importing or peer networks then try also zanacXzanac (for compile fans only).

    I own both games. I considered both to be good games. I didn't mention raystorm and soul blade because he asked for great games. There are good number of good not great titles like raycrisis. If that is the case, if would mention more games then I did. I didn't atari Charles to super high expection for the good not great games because there is more of a chance not to like them.

    I haven't played Castle of Illusion on the SMS, but I was pretty disappointed with Alex Kidd in Shinobi World.  The game doesn't control all that well, I found it somewhat frustrating and unsatisfying.  The graphics are uneven, though the audio is cool.  Alex Kidd in Miracle World is awesome, and the SMS Shinobi is virtually a masterpiece, but these are two great tastes that didn't taste good together.  Still, I haven't played it all that much - maybe a half dozen times.  I should give it another shot as I don't think I ever made it past the third world.

    that why I asked. I alex the kidd series had a bad rep. after the 2nd and 3rd games of the series.

    I think I what your talking about. The systems I have I just buy good games and thats how I got my collection expect for a few mistakes like the "awesome game" Heroes of lance for the nes-that is what gamefaqs called it or get games like 50 cents for 2600 games at a flea market stand before ebay. I know what getting into with my other systems but I never place amount of games due that reason except the sms. I got little known games like landstalker due to them being good or fun games despite the rating. That means no very rare stinkers.

    If you set up the button like the NES pad B: For Fire and A: For Jump then you can play both Super Mario and Metroid on the 2600, Also the same on Sega Master System or Genesis pad as well.

    Your thumbnail was 2 different 7800 controllers not 2600 controllers. It is the right set up for for those two games, though.
