1. I think I what your talking about. The systems I have I just buy good games and thats how I got my collection expect for a few mistakes like the "awesome game" Heroes of lance for the nes-that is what gamefaqs called it or get games like 50 cents for 2600 games at a flea market stand before ebay. I know what getting into with my other systems but I never place amount of games due that reason except the sms. I got little known games like landstalker due to them being good or fun games despite the rating. That means no very rare stinkers.
2. It is a new rpg for the genesis. It will be released in spring 2006. More information can be found at http://www.beggarprince.com. I am not preordering it due to lack of date. Spring of 2006 could be June of 2006 as I know. Your thoughts.
3. Your thumbnail was 2 different 7800 controllers not 2600 controllers. It is the right set up for for those two games, though.
4. Sega Master System. I originally wanted wanted the master system for phantasy Star one after owning the other three. I though I could get phantasy Star and maybe 10 games for the system and thats it. I had no idea how good the master system was in games. I was aware of the system in the late 80's as a beginner in console gaming. I now have over 60 games. I could've got more games by now if I wasn't so closed minded in getting phatansy star and the system at the same time instead of getting the sms first a couple years before then I did. Before I owned the master system, I thought the nes was the best 8 bit console and the sms was an afterthought. I really underestimated the sms and though phantasy Star was the only note worthy game.

5200 vs. 7800

I think he means internal RAM, not cartridge size. Also, the board I built for 5200 MULE can handle a 512K game. -Bry 993525 Thanks for explaining the ram. I agree with the ram with the 5200 being better then the 7800. I had no idea the 5200 was capable of 512k games.
6. I found out that Conker's Bad Fur Day isn't listed on their website anymore. 993430 It is nintendo not having the rights and microsoft does have the rights to the game and to the franchise due to microsoft buying rare.

5200 vs. 7800

I want to know how does the 5200 have more memory? The biggest 7800 had 144k and the 5200 was 32k. The 7800 does have more bankswitched games then the 5200. The 7800s was capable of doing 512k games with bank switching and the 5200 is a puzzle in that part. The thing is the 7800 was not maxed and I think the 5200 was closer to be maxed out. What happened to the 7800 Jack was not willing to spend the money for memory and that is why there was no rpgs for the 7800. Also a good amount games for 7800 were by contractors such as hat trick instead of being deloped by GCC,the same people who created the 7800. GCC was doing games for the 5200 and were doing the lunch games for the 7800 when Time Warner sold them to the Tramiels in 1984 with the system ready to go. When the 7800 was released in 1986 to the public, that system was behind in generation of games. By 1986, the 7800 should have had 2nd or 3rd generation games not 1st.
8. Karate Champ was the first, and I think Yie ar Kung-fu was one of the first and was influential to Street Fighter one. Street Fighter 2 perfected the 2d fighting foundation of previous 2d fighters. Mortal Kombat does not quite come from Karate Champ. It is a fighting game, but its roots came from pitfighter. Both games were dgitalized i think, and no fighting game had that graphical style before pitfighter and mortal kombat improved on it big time. The realism of the graphics of the time responsible for the rating system. The game brought about finishing moves in fighting games.
9. Nice list. I agree with street fighter 2, space invaders, Dragon's lair, pac man, Viruta racing, Mortal Kombat and pong. I also agree with astroids, Neo Geo MVs, Donkey I think ridge racer should be on the list instead of tekken. Ridge racer and Takken were responsible Ps 1 sales in 1995. Tekken credit does down due to Viruta Fighter being the first popular 3-d fighter in the arcade and was responsible 3d fighting games like Tekken. Vituta Fighter-first 3d fighting game that was successful in the arcades Arch rival- responsible for Nba Jam,blitz, High impact football My Honrable list would include galaga- how do you explain this game being in arcades from 1981 to this day. It also include pole position, and double dragon for honorable mentions. Kung fu Master- Responsible for beatum up games and for being the first and was side scrolling.
10. I see the person add stuff since I saw it last night in infomation. I know it is a good system but come on here.
11. I want to know why someone have that many pacman games? At least that auction is over.
12. A poker game could be done on a 2600. I am not a programmer. It possible to a 2 or 3 player game at least with avatars. If this game gets developed, don't expect if to have the depth, or amount of players of a lynx game.
13. Please post this in the 2600 forum, the homebrew forum, or the programming forum. Your not getting any answers in the prototype forum, since this is not a prototype.
14. Here is the link http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-RARE-Sega-Master-S...1QQcmdZViewItem. I don't care if it is brand new, it shouldn't be that expensive. Thats ebay insanity.
15. I saw a Cart on ebay that the seller claims it is a prototype. Here is the link http://cgi.ebay.com/Mystery-Atari-2600-Car...1QQcmdZViewItem I don't know if the label was made up.
16. I am not big on downloading roms. I am using the results as a back up plan if my plan of getting both games falls through.
17. Nichibutsu Arcade Classics- Import (has Moon Cresta, Crazy Climber, Frisky Tom,SF-X,Tom's Strike-Back, and Crazy Climber 85)
18. Xenogears (only if you like fmv for discs after the first one) Tomba Final Fantasy 7 Fire Pro wrestling G(import)
19. I can help you with best games. I recommend Final Fantasy Tactics, Wild Arms Alundra Konami Arcade Classics-has Pooyan, Circus Charlie, Shao-Lin's Road, Roc"n Rope, Yie Ar Kung-fu, Scramble,Road Fighter, Super Cobra, Gyruss, Time Pilot CastleVania: Sumphony of the night Einhander Metal Slug X Arc the Lad Collection-Has Arc 1, Arc 2, and Arc 3 Final Fantasy orgins- has Final Fantasy 1& 2 Final Fantasy Chronicles-Has Final Fanatsy 4, and Chro Trigger Final Fantasy Anthology- Has Final Fantasy 5 And 6 Mr driller Tekkan series Suikoden Suikoden 2 That it for now with games. Do you have plans on getting a psx change version 2? It is a import device. You use that PsX change Version 2 disc in order to boot the system, then put the import game in. For Information, most playstation one games didn't age well. It is more of a 3d machine then a 2d machine for graphics. The more you use Ps1 first design, the more of a chance to get skipping and reading disc problems. It was released in Japan in 1994 and release in the states in 1995. The last game released in the states is 2004. I think Japan is also or very early in 2005 for last game. There is also a smaller Ps 1 called Playstation one. That model was released in 1999 or 2000. The smaller version don't have a restart button. It was the winner of the 32 bit/ 64bit war between n64,Ps1,and saturn. Early on it went against the 3do up to late 1996 and Jaguar up to end of 1995. It had the most games and made history with Square Soft leaving nintendo in order to make games like Final Fantasy seven for ps 1. I can't help you with back up discs.
20. Bruce explained the 7800 difficulties making a rpg http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?s...opic=79154&st=0. Which is about dragon warrior for the 2600, mentioning the difficulties of the 7800 doing it. I think the 7800 could the first couple ultimas and wizardry at least. I think Bruce might of forgot was the 7800 was capable of bank switching up to 512k according to a thread on this forum. I know the biggest 7800 game created was 144k.
21. I decided to check again with your picture, I see what your talking about with Mario. I am only guessing, since I have no Experience with progamming games and had very little regular programming outside of games and it was 10 years ago. I went by pictures of games for the 5200 and colecovision. The game it is capable of being on a 2600 since Pitfall 2 is on the 2600. I questioned Mario before because of the amount memory that a 2600 game cartridge has is 32k I am aware, along with what I played saw. Also ColecoVision has a different processor then the 2600. There has to be something sacrifice in graphics or cut down on levels to make the game fit. I am sure the graphics would improve due to size and the tools available. What you show on screen be different in actual gameplay. I know what your talking about activision games showing 2600 game capabilities, I own some of their games including pitfall 1&2. I do think that company is a good reference for seeing what a 2600 game can do.
22. I agree with galaga to an extent. It is a fun game. The game it self has speed issues. I think the graphics can be improved a little. I have to check Mario Brothers out. I wish had midnight mutants for sprite comparions. I want to get a good idea how the 7800 sprites supposed to look be the Homebrew gaming scence can to life.
23. Any collectors guide is good gving you a rough idea on what the game should be. I think the seller is going by the value if it was boxed. A loose version of a game shouldn't be the same as a Dp price value or any price guide. It is like one of my Genesis games,it is a rarity of seven but its not worth the 65 due to not having the box. This person should used some common sense in value.
24. I do own the Genesis version. The only reason I am thinking about the sms version was do the rarity of the Us game and I read a few years ago it is different from the genesis like the Sonics for the sms. I got an idea what I was going in with Castle of Illision or with advice. I am going by which one is better. I am depending on the voters who have both games. I know the game gear version and the sms version are the same. I am considering purchasing Alex Kidd in Shinobi world now. I am aware of sms games having the same title of the genesis game.
