I just recently got a PS2. It is the old kind. It wil play Guitar Hero 2 and Marvel Ultimate Alliance but will not play any version of Gran Turismo 4. Is there a firmware upgrade that I can do or should I send it off and get it chipped?

I fixed it it was a bent pin on port 1 that was causing the problem.
Now I have a working 4-port a 2-port and a Trak-Ball controller. -
On port 1 the fire buttons work but it moves to the right on port 2 the fire buttons dont work and it moves to the right I havent tested port 3 or 4.
-
Well I got the Trak-Ball working right. I love playing Missile Command with it.
But the 4-port looks like it needs the 4052's replaced. I tried adjusting the pot on the system with no luck. I had had to replace the 4052's on my 2-port and I have a couple of extra chips laying around.

Found a 4-port 5200 with 7 games for $10 at one sale.
Found a 5200 Trak-ball for $1 at another sale.

I found a 4-port at a yard sale with the switch box, power supply, 2 controllers, and 7 games for $10. The system works the only problem is player sprite moves constantly to the right no matter what controller is plugged in. I thin I read somewhere that this can be fixed by a pot adjustment inside the system. The controllers are crap of course the fire buttons dont work but that can be fixed. Tried the system with one of my good controllers and it moves constantly to the right but the fire buttons work.
The games are
Super Breakout
Pac Man
Defender
Pole Position
Missile Command
Galaxian
Centipede
All of the with their overlays.
Also found a Trak-Ball at another sale for $1 the only problem is the fire buttons dont work. Are these like the standard controller buttons?
Can the be fixed the same way?
All in all it was a great start to my weekend

What are some good Game Cube games. I just picked up Rouge Squadron:Rebel Strike. Seems good so far. Need some ideas.

I like that controller/joystick. That's what the retro joystick for the 360 (should) have been (madcatz = fail). It'd be nice to see this move to the 360 somehow to use with some of the arcade games.I agree the madcatz arcade joystick is horrible dont buy it. If I had wanted a analog joystick I would have stuck with the 360 controller.

Stunts looks alot like Hard Drivin'. A great arcade game by Atari Games. http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?game_id=8072 The track editor looks similar to the track editor on the Genesis version.

For Christmas I got a light sixer with Combat and for gifts I got Space Invaders, Adventure, Space War, Football, and Dragster.
-
I was having similar problems to what you are having. I could not get the top fire buttons to work at all. Replacing the 4052's fixed it. I added sockets for the chips so they could easily be replaced in the future.

Well with the shortage of space the only ones I have hooked up are the 5200, Dreamcast, and Wii.
-
I think a better punishment would be to have them watch me play it all christmas day.

-
Yes indeed, the Wii is now sitting in its top-secret hiding place at the house. I'm amazed the kids haven't found this spot yet! Picked up Wii Play as well for the extra controller, and might pick up another game or two. I think my wife might have taken my hint about Trauma Center, which looks like a very cool game to play! And there is a Psyclone brand Wii starter kit for about $50 which seems to be a good deal, especially as it has the component cables included. The kids found our super secret hiding place
.Kind of takes the fun out of suprising them with a Wii. GRRR

I just ordered Asteroids Deluxe, Space Duel, and b*nQ. Just got some christmas money That I didnt expect.

The store I bought it from is not a Corparate store. I think thats why the price was higher. I wil look at the when I get home.

Where's Travi?
in Atari 7800

Well Travi arrived today and I also got my 128 in 1 5200 flash cart today. Travi was a little jealous cause I was spending so much time with the flash cart. Then I told him that Flash wasn't going to leave the house and he was going to see the sites of southwestern Missouri.
He felt a little better after that then we had a beer. He was parched after his long trip.
Then we played with the 5200 multi cart. Can you guess which game we played?
Travi will be on his way in a couple of weeks more pics to come.
