Not all 5200 cartridges are 32k carts. Many are 16k carts, many are 2 16k chip carts. The emu looks at the size and displays the options that are likely approporite. So for 5200 carts, you'll have two different possible cartridge type menus. If it's a 1 or 2 chip 16k cart rom, you'll have the following options: - Standard 16 KB cartridge - OSS '034M' 16 KB cartridge - Two chip 16 KB 5200 cartridge - OSS 'M091' 16 KB cartridge - One chip 16KB 5200 cartridge - MegaCart 16 KB cartridge If it's a 32k cart rom, you'll get the following: - Standard 32 KB 5200 cartridge - DB 32 KB cartridge - XEGS 32 KB cartridge - 32 KB Williams cartridge - MegaCart 32 KB cartridge - Switchable XEGS 32 KB cartridge. The options in bold obviously being the only options you need to concern yourself with for 5200 roms. Selecting the wrong cart type will cause the emu to crash as you describe. If you're still getting a crash after selecting the propper cart type, it's because the rom dump is probably bad or impropper size. I've seen lots of 4K and 8K 5200 dumps for some reason, and they choke most emulators. (You can fix those 'small roms' by simply copying the rom to itself doubling it up till it reaches a minimum of 16k). I am not getting the 32k option at all ist there an updated emu that I can use?

Uh, yeah... What are you talking about? You have to do no such thing. You boot the disc. You pull left trigger. You select cartridge management. You select insert cartridge. Pick the rom file you want to load. Select cartridge type. Rom loads and runs. Pull right trigger to pull up the virtual 5200 keypad if/when needed. I love the DC's emulation because it's one of the few emulators I've seen that doesn't force you to use a stupid full keyboard mismatched cluster f--k to try and input 5200 related entries. It also pauses game play when you enter to give you time to make your entry, and doesn't require you to turn off the keypad after making your selection, it automaticly goes back to game and sends the keypress. I wish every 800/5200 emulator worked like this. PC, Xbox and other 800/5200 emulators are huge turds in this aspect because you have to use that damned virtual atari 800 keyboard, and create an f'in cross reference chart. H = Start, X = 4, 8 = 5... I have tried this like I said and the emu crashes. Also it doesnt give me the option to choose 32k carts. Am I missing something?

I can make the disk image and it boots but I cant get any of the roms to run. I either get a black screen or it says the Atari computer has crashed. I am using atari800dc emu. I have the 5200 bios in the right place. Any ideas?

Watch out for "jerusalemfire" on ebay. Won a colecovision but was shill bid against. I checked out his auctions and he bought the system off ebay then bought some games to go with it in July. Then ran up the price of the auction with another ebay account to get what he wanted for it. I refused to pay.

As I would have been. I think you've got it right then. It's a 4052. That seems very common and was one of the many problems with my machine. Unfortunately, they weren't socketed on my 2 port board. One is now. I am going to socket both.

Its a 2 port and both ports are bad. I have 3 controllers. I took the board out to replace those chips and saw that pin sticking out and was curious.

This is a picture from my 5200. The top fire buttons dont work. I noticed that this chip has one pin that is not connected. Is this right?

You could always get images and burn them to CD.

Got them with my MAD CATZ arcade controller. I have a PC so these are no good to me but somebody could use them. They are Frogger, Time Pilot, and Astro Pop. These are free so let me know.
