What Games/Systems Did You Have as a Kid?
edweird13 replied to bretthorror's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Atari 2600 in 1980. TI99/4A in 1981 or 82. C64 1984 but I was 14 by then. -
I just bought a flex circut and the the top fire buttons still don't work. I have even tried the foil on the button trick. Still no good.
-
I tried but i cant get past the second intermission. I tried MANY times.
-
Ouch the honest truth.

I have a C-64 breadbox for sale. It comes with a spare board and case the only thing wrong with the board is the RF out. 2 1541 disk drives one non working( think its the power supply). A 1520 VIC printer and a Kooala Touch pad. Asking $ 50.00 USD + shipping.

This is awesome!!!!! Keep up the good work. Cant wait to play it on real hardware. The diamond AI does need some work.
-
I had a 46360 score saved but....

I myself being a "gamer" in his late 30's love the 5200. I have learned to deal with the controllers. Thats what a "gamer" does. To quote a famous movie "You have to adapt and overcome".

Bob, you are the reason I got a 7800 in the first place. Keep up the good work!!!!
-
I think what I did was download the XMESS source and had to compile it.
-
cause it would be easier to buy a rebuilt one and then fix the old one when I have the time.
-
I have done that already guess I have to get a rebuilt controller cause I'm not gonna replace the FLEX9 circut.
-
Could be that the circuit is damaged. Another idea is that the cable has a break in one of the 15 ultra-thin wires inside. Do all the number keypad buttons work (test with defender), as this is where I usually expect to see cable issues show up. Yes they work with Star Raiders. I think the top circuts are damaged.

All I want are the games. Im not picky as long as they work. I have some 2600 and 7800 games for trade. Heres what I have for trade: Xenophobe 7800 in box Food Fight 7800 not in box Galaga 7800 not in box Lots of 2600 games

I got the bottom fire buttons working and the start button working with aluminum foil but I cant get the top fire buttons working. Any suggestions it makes it hard to play Qix and Defender without the top fire buttons.

Anybody know where to get these?
edweird13 replied to 2600Lives's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I got a Tri-Wing #0 off of ebay to fix my sons GBA. I think what your looking for is a Torx security bit 3.5MM. -
Agreed. This was my favorite driving game.
-
I got the controllers working well enough to know that I have to buy rebuilt ones or replace the start pause reset buttons and both fire buttons. So I will buy a rebuilt one and buy the parts to fix the others at a later date.
