Only a suggestion if alot more money is needed. In a somewhat similar situation for a classic collector the family put up alot of items for sale which members of the community essentially paid double the value. It ends up being a win win for the family and community. The gofundme is 12k plus so hopefully they have some breathing room covering the first semester as they try to figure out the future.

Location you are shipping from? -
At the time, MC was an excellent port on the 2600. I never owned the cart but a friend had one that we played a ton.

Ill chime in here for those that might not know this handheld. I still have mine from BITD - I thought I was getting Galaxian but its not exactly the same. Its a nice handheld with similar game play to galaxian but a few extra modes (only so much you can do on a handheld display back then). Its got great color and sound. This is the only handheld I kept from my youth.

STUNT CAR RACER - Atarimania Suspicious Ranking / Score

Just put my 10 in for this incredible port -
I dont think the size of the hole that has just opened in the Classic Atari community will be known for months. Curt was involved with so many things and was the connection point to many others that its impossible to measure the loss. Condolences for his family.

Your first software! What was it?

I got Voyager 1 when my parents bought me my Atari 800 - Im not sure we couldve purchased a worse game, but maybe it was cheaper than the rest. It required Basic, but being new to the 800 I didnt quite understand exactly how to start the game (I didnt have the basic cart in). So, from the DOS menu I figured I had to "I"nitialize the disk......................... Next day swapped it out for a new copy as the first one "didnt work" - I figured out how to play the game and boy was it a stinker. Thats when I started learning how to code my own crappy games -
I think a challenging mini putt putt game would be a good edition. Even better if there was a way to generate your own levels

You're gonna need a bigger ruler..............

I agree 100% here. My neighbor worked with a few friends and finished Zork I but couldnt get through II. Wanting to see these games through on the 8bit I got a walk through and proceeded to finish I - III. II and esp III were ridiculous some of the things you had to do in order to proceed. I had -100% chance of completing those back in the day without some sort of hint guide an such. This is why I dont hold the Zork titles in high regard. I think Zork I was a tough whacky and potentially solvable mission, the others not.

"Dragonfly" my version of the Atari 7800 SD cartridge
Goochman replied to rj1307's topic in Atari 7800
I second the on screen menu. I had an 8bit SIO device with an LCD and never used it for that reason -
You only get to keep your IP if you protect it when notified of its use. Why do you think Nintendo cares about all the 2600 knock offs - or that never happened either.................

WTF are you talking about? Explain how I had a "mess with" who? Dude, lay off the LSD as you have no clue about what you are saying. For those that want a replay on what happened this is how I remember it - not how I "messed with it" or demanded a $10 release.............lol The author contacted one of the original programmers from the game who gave their blessing to make an arcade perfect port. Port was made and somehow the copyright owners (Midway?) got wind of it and issued a cease and desist and the original programmer had no authority to give permission. End of story. No strong armed banditos asking for a $10 release. How I am potentially involved is I didnt have a CD unit at the time and was waiting for a cartridge release which was in the plans. And no I didnt ask for a $10 cartridge release. So I missed out on the original purchase. I have luckily since then acquired a Gorf CD which I still own.

Buried Bucks is a great game - I loved carving out huge caverns under ground

I dont think Atari had a lack of Technical Competency - they were overflowing with sharp technical talent. However they lacked vision and the ability to make good use of this talent. Bushnell had that in spades, but if he didnt sell Atari it wouldve died on the vine from a revenue standpoint. Warner couldnt have picked a worse candidate than Ray to run the company..............

Thanks for the link. I have an old Nexus 7 table running Android 5 that works with my iCade - not perfect but a solution. Seems Android 6+ broke the iCade compat for some strange reason.

That looks like a winner but sold out

Castles and Keys is interesting - plays more like a demo of potential ideas than a game. Its pretty brutal on some of the screens!
