Andrew - I did notice the blue squares going dark on selection from previous videos. Wasnt that big of a deal in the context of what you've been able to pull off here but I can say the new flash routine looks great.

About 10 years ago someone was selling a converter box to handle ST color rez through VGA. It doesnt handle mono (prob could be wasnt setup that way). Anyhow the item you linked you most likely would work except for 1 small problem - sound. The VGA signal doesnt carry sound so any monitor cable connection you get needs to have some RCA jacks to connect to an external speaker. I box I have for does this. Mono is much simplier from what I gather. I have a simple VGA adaptor with inline RCA jacks to handle mono - seems the color modes are a bit more tricky. I recently had my MEga 2 hooked up to my 42" LCD TV and Mono mode looks nice - Med ok - low res, holy cow everything is so big! Happy to take pictures of what I got if there is interest. Id love to find an HDMI solution which covers all 3 modes with sound to the TV but dont think that exists. -
He has a $20 min order which is whats preventing me from getting a cable. I cant find something else listed on his webpage that Im interested in. The catalog doesnt count towards the $20 min I found out - Id like to see what else is there to make an order but its a chicken and egg situation for me right now. Without the catalog I cant see everything, what I do see I dont need.

I havent seen any of these new Toy Shock pinball machines in person however I did get to play on a UltraPin machine this past weekend at an arcade. The UltraPin had a great selection however the screen was tough to play on. I started Black Knight 2000 (one of my favs) and there was no depth perception between the upper and lower parts of the playfield. It seemed stretched and a bit washed out. For those that have tried the new Toy Shock and other machines, do you know how it compares to something like the UltraPin?

The Marpet Memory upgrade kit claims to not need any soldering but I cant find much info on exactly what needs to be done to install this. Ive also only found them from overseas sellers.

Anyone have a lead on a shop that can do a 4MB RAM upgrade to my Mega 2ST? Ive already got a 16mhz Adspeed in there if that makes things a problem? Id also consider having a TOS switcher so I could have a newer/modified TOS in there? I have 0 soldering skills so no chance I could do it on a Mega 2.

I bought one of those NE2000 cart port network cards many moons ago. Every time I try to use it I seem to run into a mysterious problem that takes days to fix. For the most part Im pretty sure Ive got the right drivers and control panel (v1.31) - I think it comes down to my route table for me trying to connect to a machine on my local network. My network is 192.168.1.x My Gateway is 192.168.1.1 The hard wired IP address for STiNG is 192.168.1.58 which appears open from what I can tell on my network I believe the ROUTE.TAB is my issue as if I have things somewhat right the ACTIVE light will flash on the card when I ping. If I make a mistake it seems the ACTIVE light wont flash. Any thoughts on the right way to configure this? Here is the ROUTE.TAB file and what I thought was right but obviously isnt. # Format of routes comprises four entries, separated by TABs : # - First the network (subnet number) which can be reached by using this # route. # - Next the subnet mask associated with that network. # - Then the port name follows. Ive been playing around with my GoTek finally and have worked through a number of issues related to working with Spectre 128 images. There is no image for "HFS/MFS" Spectre disks with the HxC software so I played around a bit with what was there with mixed results. DC Formatter has always been my go to for disk creation. I used the 800k DOS/Amiga image and had mixed results. I wanted to create an MFS disk that I could use with the Translator (800k) but no matter what I tried it always failed I had 2 800k images I tested HFS with. The 800k DOS/Amiga image wouldnt format with DC Formatter for HFS or MFS. I had an 800k .ST image I converted to .hfe awhile back and DC Formatter was able to create an empty HFS disk image for me - not MFS. The Format utility that comes with Spectre 128 3.0 was better. I could format both my 800k images - Spectre only uses HFS for 800k floppies. So - now Im able to copy from my SF314 B drive to my "GoTek" drive to bring Spectre images to the PC. Ive attached 2 .hfe images (you can convert to .ST easily with the utility on the hxc2001 website): System 6.0.4 bootable disk Random disk that had Frogger for the Mac on it Id really like to get ahold of System 6.0.8 if someone was able to make a .ST image of it? If you have it and a GoTek drive you can use one of the images attached to copy the files to Anyhow - hopefully we can have more sharing here? Unfort the Transverter program isnt that good, but maybe we can find an alternative? Mac Disks.zip

Ok false alarm here......I couldnt get Spectre to work with the Eiffel no matter what I did. I plugged my Mega keyboard in (which required me to remove and reinsert the Spectre cart) - as luck would have it Spectre worked. I went to run Spectre today with my Mega keyboard and it wouldnt start - After some jiggering of the cart it worked, so I went back to my Eiffel connector and Spectre worked no problem. Any other Spectre users out there?

I found my original disks which took me to 1.8. I got Pagestream to start and for the most part work. Im having a problem with fonts though. When I load an old doc it only looks for fonts on Drive A:. I had updated the Path to look on my HD (I had run it from my HD before) but it doesnt seem to want to resolve the fonts......... Anyone have experience with PageStream and moving drive letters and such?

ugh - Ive been pulling my hair out a few days as Ive been trying to get Spectre running now that I have a sweet PS/2 keyboard and mouse attached to my Mega 2 via the Eiffel adapter. I am using a PS/2 connected keyboard and PS/2 compat USB mouse with the Eiffel. I havent been able to get Spectre to start - getting error msgs that something is wrong with the ROMs. I took the Eiffel out and put my Mega 2 ST keyboard and mouse back in and Spectre runs fine. Anyone else see this behavior and found a work around? Id really like to use the PS/2 keyboard and mouse for my Mac fun!

I got this Gotek a few years back and never got around to figuring it out. Im trying to get my Mega2 ST back in usable order and am running into problems again. First question: I know there are 15 A/B slots. Can I bring the disk manager menu up while using the ST or do I have to reboot? Scenario is I have a game which has multiple disks - do I need to put them into Drive A across multiple slots and use the button to switch slots(disks)? Second question: Can I use .st images directly or do I need to convert them to .hfe images? Third question: I have an external drive that I want to use to move some old disks on to my UltraSatan. It has always worked as my B drive. I have the following results: 1. With nothing connected to my Mega2, I put a disk into Drive A and Drive B on the Gotek menu. Drive A opens up fine but Drive B tells me to put a disk into Drive A. This indicates to me that I have properly setup the Gotek to not take over Drive B 2. With my SF314 connected to my Mega2 I put a disk into Drive on the Gotek menu. Drive A opens up fine, but I get the same msg on Drive B telling me to put a disk into Drive A. It should open the disk on my SF314............ Possible problems - I dont see any activity lights on the SF314. Should I see some kind of light flash when it powers on, the MEga2 powers on or I change disks? I have a replacement mechanism in the SF314 and dont see the green light come on at all. I have used this drive in the past. Here is a picture of what I am using
