  1. What mystery is this... what magic?

My grass turned to water - making access to LB's castle a bit tricky!

I dont think this is an easy find unless someone knows the layout of the U3 disk. Ive found a few clues but would be easier if I could find a disk editor tha runs in Windows and can look at ATR files.

This site talks about the hex values of items:

  2. Im not sure how this started but my U3 character disk has developed a problem with some of the land tiles. Ive attached 2 pictures to show the issue. Ive got water where there should be land around LBs castle and the town. Anyone know of a way to fix the tiles through disk editing?

Part of the reason I have this problem is it seems whenever the whirlpool downs an empty ship it thinks its occupied and drops a ship around the castle creating a water space. Not sure how to fix that, but if I could chang ethe land that would help.

Sorry for all the chests, those are all 'grass' tiles.

  3. This game isnt that hard to get the max 1080 on it. It just requires *patience* - thats the hard part. You just want to fly around and rip up the dots, but thats how you get crunched. After about 10-15 games you can get a pretty good pattern that once executed will give you that perfect game.

Maybe play some "Frankie goes to Hollywood Relax" to help set your pace :)

    Patience is the key ;)

  4. legeek - I like the last table you put there. Even if the scores "overlaid" the graphics I think a few trinket pictures help alot. I know they dont do anything, but visually make a world of difference IMHO.

  5. My vote would be to maybe add a ghost or two and maybe a baby pac to the pinball table - it doesnt need to look like the arcade but its pretty sparse right now.

  6. This game was designed as a quarter eater back in the day (IMHO) - I always wanted to play it more but the cost/benefit wasnt there for me. Getting this on a console would finally allow me to enjoy this title without breaking the bank ;)

  7. I think that's what Goochman is saying.

That in order to get the rom for download you should have to buy the full copy.

That is the legal interpretation. Price is whatever someone is willing to sell for. This really isnt the place to ask about how to purchase ROMs illegally for an SD device. Now if the original creators of such carts offer them at a discount that would be great, but dont hold your breath for original releases.

  8. He's very quiet...

I bet his Jag Cave is a flurry of activity!

    On a related note:

I wonder if it would be possible to purchase ROMs of games that are sold in the shop for use on this cart?

    Good idea?

    Bad idea?

Difficult to implement in a non-exploitable way?

As long as your delivering said cart of rom with purchase, sure.

  9. Pete,

One suggestion to make this a bit more fun IMHO is to align the monsters with room/activity. You created an excellent engine to allow multiple multicolor objects roam around a room but for this series it always seemed strange to me that I would run into a unicorn, dragon, bug, skeleton, etc... all in the same room bouncing around. I think it would be better to have more constraint on the monsters and for them to have a purpose for wherever you are. Lots of spiders in a room I could see - a dragon tends to live alone.

    Just my $0.02
