Atari Guy - If you're having trouble getting started drop me a line - I wrote my own version of the 'Quick Start' guide which is much clearer (IMHO) - Internal or External? Ive got the External one with a 1 gig drive MyDOS is the only DOS that supports it with an External setup. An Internal one with the MyIDE OS can work with SpartaDOs 3.3a Ive been told. Enjoy!

There is a monthly Console Challenge hosted by TG on Rons Snipercade site: http://www.snipercade.com/twingal/index.html Look for Console of the Month challenge on the LH toolbar. This month we're playing Night Stalker, but you can vote for any game on any console for the next month!

Need some replayability here: Solaris Kaboom Defender II
-
32.85 is the best one can achieve (99% correct) - you can break the 33 second barrier- Keys to the game: 1. All movment counts time off your score - therefore if you are pixel perfect with regard to movement it will generate a better score (hint hint) 2. Bird patterns - there is more than 1 way to conquer the birds - the best pattern is one I didnt know until I saw it from Todd Rogers - then again I cant repeat it either 3. Barns and Towers - again - pixel perfect Mastering these and you can break the 33 second barrier.

Im out at 30

Could someone contact John about the issues with newer Service Packs of 2000 and XP. The Pacsal explains alot of the performance drag I see.
-
Wow, awesome site - thanks! It appears all the 'XE' version is the Broderbund one recast in a new graphics mode with color added - The sounds and movement appear to be identical.
-
ANyone know if a .bin or .exe of the XE Choplifter is out there somewhere? I dont have it - I have some .bin files available if someone wants to talk privately about sending it to me.
-
I did a search on mega st and video cards awhile back (check this forum) - There appeared to be about 10 or so graphic card enahancements, mostly from germany - But some of them were made - I never did track one down.
-
OK good - glad Im not alone Z26 Win works well for me (the beta version) Does the PCAE Author hang out here?
-
I stand corrected with the correct picture The XE version intriques me - I will have to locate a copy to fire up
-
The XE version looks lame in that picture! It looks like Gr8 with bad artifacting!
-
My best on 4 laps is around 61K I believe - cant remember though
-
I will list one score Im proud of - 105550 on Pole Position (8 laps). I havent seen a higher score on this one. Someone posted a 105500 score and it took me a week to finally beat it
-
A.E. was another Gr8 game as well as Ultima II -> IV though they used artifacting to get some colors.
-
You can find all my scores here: http://www.twingalaxies.com/cgi-perl/searc...otalResults=217

Wow, they reprogrammed the XE version - anyone have screenshots - I didnt realize it was a fresh release vs a repackaged Broderbund one.

Hey lets keep the crap game references to FFL here and leave Club Drive out of it Yes, I am the only person on earth who found some enjoyment in this game - not its not my favorite but I took it as a challenge to figure out how to control that car which was possible unlike Checkered Flag.
-
I also believe some determined (Alan Hewston) that the timer behaves slightly different in the 8bit version vs all others. There are 3 timers in the game that control vines, crocs and scorpions. It behaves a little bit different.
-
It provides Parallel and Serial connectors for the 8bit series such that you could hook up industry standard modems and printers. The parallel connector is not the one that most computers use today but a smaller connector on the 850. Nifty to have but prob not alot of use today unless you plan on connecting online.

Ok, So - what does Cupcakus cart thing do different from this one - Anyone know?
-
SInce PCAE 2.6 doesnt work for me this is great! Now, how to get the cart select menu and joystick support
-
So this thing can suck carts right into memory and then I can go plug it into my 2600? Does the LED allow me to choose which 'cart bank' to play (I presume)? That would be cool. SO how does Cupcakus offering differ?
