Worst 8-bit cart put out by Atari?
Goochman replied to davidcalgary29's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Kangaroo for the 8bit is the same as the released one for the 5200 so its fair to compare As for Food Fight, whats everyones beef with that one? -
Worst 8-bit cart put out by Atari?

Kangaroo was 'ok' playability wise, but the graphics and movement were just not up to par -
Fighting games kinda suck on the 8bit - Dev stopped just as these type games came into the spotlight. Some later releases are pretty good but otherwise the 8bit is missing this genere.

Worst 8-bit cart put out by Atari?
Goochman replied to davidcalgary29's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Food Fight is great - esp compared to the arcade! Atari didnt put it out but Congo Bongo has got to be the worst - It is the worst Arcade Port I can tell you that. As for worst Atari cart - I would vote for Kangaroo - blah graphics and gameplay. -
Folks, I have a Diamond OS 2.0 cart and was wondering if anyone knew how to configure a large drive with this running MyDOS. There are some large ATR files out there I would like to see if I could use through Diamond but the 'install drive' option doesnt give me very many options - in fact it appears that it only suppports SD and DD?

I think it needs to keyboard - not 100% sure, but I believe so

I had a telestar arcade before getting my 2600 - It was really fun and I actually ordered a few of the xtra 'triangle' carts to play - The light gun worked pretty good but the steering controler was the best! I never did get good at the racing game that came with it but it got alot of use! Wish I could still find that thing

Ok, Ive gotten success - turns out one of my drives isnt compatible with the MyIDE interface. This is REALLY COOL and cant wait to load it up. My biggest confusion was using MyDOS since I never used it and didnt understand the 'O' option (combined with the fact that my drive didnt work properly!) Anyhow, Ive got a 16 meg partition setup and plan to play around more. I understand the 'image load' theory but not exactly how to use the 'joystick' interface for this - any help with that appreciated! If you can grab one of these I would suggest doing so! I am going to see if my Diamond OS cart will work with this - now that would be great! A 'mini-st'

Ok, Due to some dumbness on my part I figured out how to get my HD connected to teh MyIDE cart - the drive is recognized and I was able to partition a drive. Now the hard part - I cannot figure out how to format the drive through the instructions provided........ I also dont understand the 'iamge load' option which appears to try and mimic a floppy drive with a HD partition (I think) I want to create a 16 meg partition from which I can load games onto. The guide indicates I should create a partition of 65535 sectors with 'hi' density (256 byte sectors). I did this and the partition was created succesfully. However it appears I need to 'configure' my drive in MyDOS inorder to format this partition (it appears and when I do a dir on it garbage comes up) - No matter what I do I cannot seem to be able to format the drive. Also, The image load thing confuses me (hold down START+RESET) and then have some joystick interface to load images?? Do I need to make my partitions 720 sectors with 'lo' or 128 byte sectors for these 'images'? Im a bit confused getting the drive properly setup so any advice appreciated.

Iron Soldier 2. Cart or CD? What are the differences?
Goochman replied to NebraskaDragon's topic in Atari Jaguar
For the time it came out I enjoyed the HS cart and also the HS CD. Then again I also enjoyed White Fox when it came out on the ST (talk about your low FPS tank game!) -

and no bids - is this really worth $140!

Doubtful since the game is very long and gets progressively harder - kinda like a walkthrough for Ultima IV - it can tell you what to do but there are so many things in order to do it the walkthrough is of minial benefit
