  1. I used a 1.2 meg drive (the older the drive the better) and formmatted the disk on the Atari - SS/DD in MYDOS. I couldnt get the format part to work. I was able to get this thing to work, however you need to calculate start/stop sectors for each file, therefore I was most successful writing 1 program at a time and copying it on my 8bit - not very efficient from my end but it worked when I needed it to. Its not very easy and best run from DOS vs WinDOS
  2. Im feeling extremly generos tonight so attached is the program Ok, I dug it out of my archives since I was curious also Enjoy and let me know your results! ataridsk.zip
  3. I have the disk version Bummer, Shamus is an awesome game!
  4. It is a 1.2 meg 5 1/4 - You basically had to calculate the start and end sector for your files as input and I think it just wrote raw dat in Atari format - you may have had to format the drive on the Atari first???? I was not very succesfull in getting more than 1 program transferred at a time (which was ok) - but a few times I almost got the whole disk done. I prob have the Util around somewhere still if someone wants it - send me a private msg with your email address and ye shall receive
  5. This is a prog called makedisk that will allow an IBM drive to write SS/DD disks for the Atari - it is difficult to use but I got it to work on a few things before I got my SIO2PC cable.
  6. I wonder about that though since there are 5-6 titles that are not available on the 800 at all - I would assume if these were originally developed on the 800 then some kinda of test cart would be avail? Though pre-5200 titles on the 800 were def just ported.
  7. True, but the 400 was a bit bigger and only came with 16K. The 800XL gives the best overall compat with programs and a good footprint for your TV area

    NBA JAM!

NBA Jam was one of the best arcade translations for the Jag - Primal Rage was good also. I had a team tap but only played 2 player max on it.
  9. The 800 version was originally programmed with the intermissions which were stripped to fit in a smaller cart. I had a disk version of Pac Man with the intermissions back in the day when the cart was released.
  10. Michtron was bought out by EA IIRC - thats just about the time they stopped producing ST games As for a Time Bandit save......hmmm I thought it was able to save your progress since I was able to get pretty far along but reached a level where I couldnt finish the Pac Man nor Star Trek screens Anyone up for a Time Bandit Tourney?
  11. This is one game where I could see the 5200 sticks giving an advantage - Ill have to fire this one up
  12. Agreed Albert - the 800XL makes the best 8bit game machine - Small footprint, disk drive and more memory than the 5200 gave it more options for creativity. I could list 100 games that are awesome on the 8bit that you could never play on the 5200 from something as simple as Salmons Run (gotta try that one) to Shamus to the Ultima Series and everything inbetween.
  13. Pretty good translation as I remember, though IM not a Super Pac Fan
  14. Not quite correct. You forgot Meteorites and RS Baseball (I almost converted that, but then I've seen the overlay...) Glenn????? If so: Thank you thank you thank you thank you
  15. Anyone know if the SuperCharger works with it?
  16. Gremlins was a 5200 only as well I believe, though thanks to 'Glenn the 5200 man' there are no 5200 exclusives
  17. If you have Dandy then dont worry about Dark Chambers Xenphobe was listed a long time ago and they suddenly stopped listing it - If its back up and for sale I would prob want to pick up a copy also (I got Stargate a few years back ) Tower Toppler is fu non the 7800 so I prob wouldnt invest too much in an XE version.
  18. So whats different on the 5200 version vs the 800?
  19. $15 - I wouldnt be that dissapointed with that price - though getting that upgraded to 64K may cost more than bidding on an 800XL. Enjoy - you have alot of carts you can play.
  20. Inky I think you wanted to know how to play TB - Basically you need to conquer each 'area' on the map to finish a level. The 'Sign' in the middle of the screen will tell you what lands still need to be conquered. Each one has a different puzzle to figure out - In my breif play I finished 'Ghost Town' by finding the key to unlock the way out. I finished Pac Land by eating all the dots. The rest of them have similar things you need to do. It repeats the same 'areas' but they genreally get larger and harder to finish Good Luck! This is a fun game and a time waster!
  21. Gameboy emu for the Palm - where can I get that puppy?
  22. Gunstar, You dont realize that you check your gonads at the door of the chapel Its also the last decision you'll ever make!
  23. Since most of use are in different locations we could propose an ST Contest................. If theres enough interest we at TG will set something up.
  24. I was going to ask the same question. It appears the GCC veriosn doesnt have the fly waves. I like the Atari version better - screen is cleaner and colors are crisper IMHO.
  25. So the question still stands - what good games did Atari develop internally? Adventure Haunted House Dodge 'Em (maybe it wsa in the arcades) Missile Command Video Pinball What else?
