What
Say it aint so!
Ok, so I didnt realize the difference between Bitmapped and Char mode
- I know they aint Sprites!Ill climb back into my cave now

-
Donkey Kong was another - An easy way to find out is to load an old version of ST XFormer which didnt have Sprite Collesions on it yet - games that worked were using character mode

-
Leader Board required a dongle as well (joystick port dongle that is)
-
Hmmmmmmmmmm, think about a portable 2600 with a smart card reader to input games.........256MB could hold alot of bin's to take on the road - Game Boy Advance what?????????????

-
As for the Video Tapes being available, watch your local Blockbuster for:
"Asteroids: Hours 1-5" to be released along with a gift box set of Sex in the City Season 4
Watching 33 hrs of Asteroids is not my idea of fun!

Fox,
Say it aint so - as for being 'Wolfenstienish', I guess most folks didnt realize you couldnt jump, walk stairs and have rising platforms in Wolfenstein - oh almost forget water as well

As for the Project-
You mention you can only code - Based upon what you have for Vector what skills are required for map making - With Doom there were 'wad' generators to make the maps - is the something a non programmer can use to generate Vector maps?
Graphics - What can be used to produce them - MircoPainter(for example) and are there restrictions/limitations around beasts/objects
Looking at Numen it appeared alot of the engine was in place, however the following appeared missing:
Enemy Movement
Enemy Actions(shooing, etc..)
Enemy AI
I only saw graphics for 3 types of enemy
Level Size (You didnt move very far before having to jump into something else)
The enemy stuff will cause slowdown Im sure so some of the 'outside' areas which were already slow probably would have to be cut/restricted
Are these programming efforts to be done on your part or someone the Project Manager would need to find?
What is the development environment?
With this info I think a Project Manager would have a better sense of whats ahead of them.
BTW-
GREAT JOB no matter what happens.

The 5100 is exactly what Im talking about!
Charm or not, since the 5200 isnt the system that sits under my TV all the time bringing that load out and setting it up on the TV is a pain!
The 5200 looks great for an early 80s console (bigger is better), but for today its too much!

Well, post the error line and we'll see what we can tell you

-
Ok, saw the dot, secret room and your map
- No pics of the black maze or red dragon though

The Jag competed with the Sega 32X and 3DO - Trip Hawkins relationships keep 3D) games coming out and Sega had their own - Atari, we'll they only had 1 Jeff Minter and Rebellion.........
Atari's dumbest idea was to produce an Infomercial to sell Jags - what kids watched that crap?
The death knell was Atari being able to get the Jag into Toys R Us and then most of them being returned after Xmas since the kids told their parents they didnt want a Jag(they didnt know what it was) they wanted System .......
I saw 2 Jag commercials during the day, but no more.

I think you need to post the whole progma - Are you using LOGO or Atari Basic?
There is no PILOT command in basic - Mayb eit should be PLOT?
-
IIRC the 5200 is a quasi 400/800 - It is the 400 memory map rearranged so its not 100% the same as the 400 with the additional 16K cart slot that the 800OS has combined into a single 32K addessable cart space.
Think o fit as a Atari 600 - not 600XL

I would look for an 800XL as it has the compact case and 64K for more compatibility with more carts.
PLus the XL series has much better joysticks than the 5200/600 series

-
Ok, if we're going to talk a bit about new 5200 hardware Id love to get a 5200 Jr! I saw someone reduced a Colecovision in 1/2 since most of it was wasted space and only require moving a switches - Anythink this this can be done with the 5200?
One of my biggest gripes is the space the 5200 takes - a smaller case with regular power supply and the ps controller interface and you'd be cooking

I can dream right?
-
Great idea but for $80 I dont presume a PS joystick comes with it. I dont know how much it costs to put one of these things together but for the cost of this plus a PS stick you could get 3/4 rebuilt 5200 sticks with gold connectors that would last a lifetime (yeah, the PS stick may be better, but you cant beat the original sometimes).

PCAE has net play for 2600 games......
4 Player net MULE - ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm---forbidden doughnut ummmmmmmmmm................
-
The black castle is done with keys?
-
At Twin Galaxies we're tracking time to complete vs matches - A few of us have gotten lucky with the pieces only being a few rooms a way

Video proof is required for this score in case you're wondering

-
Let me take a wild guess - The Red Dragon makes an apperance

-
You could try some of the other less compatible ST emus though they are a bit harder to configure and run - I used Pacifist for awhile which was not too bad. Check the www.atari.st site for others. STEEM is a video hog but runs just about anything thrown its way!
-
Well from the sounds of it EA is exactly what I thought I was paying for - I'll crank this one up this weekend see if I can get past the bldg - thats for the info!
-
Ummmmmmmm, Slime - That was a great game (800 mode only!) Gotta break out the trackball and play that one again - been awhile

-
Ok Im confused.....I got to the bottom but never found an elevator to take me to the car - It appears that I am not waiting long enough for th efinal elevator??
I dont understand the 'death' animation suggestion above?

A retail store around where I live was going out of business around 1997. As such everything in the back room was put on the floor for sale. I went in looking for a CD player or VCR (They sold everything from lawn furniture to electronics) when lo and behold I saw 2 1050 disk drives mint in box (never opened) - 1010 Cassette Player in box as well, plus some common Atari 800 carts mint in boxes.
They were asking original retail prices at first ($179.99 for the disk drive). Came back a week later and most of the stuff was gone but 1 disk drive remained for $40 which I thought a fair price.

So are you saying you can finish the 1st bldg?????
If so I may have to blow the dust off EA!

Wow, SuperCross 3d is really bad

Was Atari ever awake on the Jag platform? I dont think so
