    5200 Jr

Ok, if we're going to talk a bit about new 5200 hardware Id love to get a 5200 Jr! I saw someone reduced a Colecovision in 1/2 since most of it was wasted space and only require moving a switches - Anythink this this can be done with the 5200? One of my biggest gripes is the space the 5200 takes - a smaller case with regular power supply and the ps controller interface and you'd be cooking I can dream right?
  2. Great idea but for $80 I dont presume a PS joystick comes with it. I dont know how much it costs to put one of these things together but for the cost of this plus a PS stick you could get 3/4 rebuilt 5200 sticks with gold connectors that would last a lifetime (yeah, the PS stick may be better, but you cant beat the original sometimes).
  3. PCAE has net play for 2600 games...... 4 Player net MULE - ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm---forbidden doughnut ummmmmmmmmm................
  4. The black castle is done with keys?
  5. At Twin Galaxies we're tracking time to complete vs matches - A few of us have gotten lucky with the pieces only being a few rooms a way Video proof is required for this score in case you're wondering
  6. Let me take a wild guess - The Red Dragon makes an apperance
  7. You could try some of the other less compatible ST emus though they are a bit harder to configure and run - I used Pacifist for awhile which was not too bad. Check the www.atari.st site for others. STEEM is a video hog but runs just about anything thrown its way!
  8. Well from the sounds of it EA is exactly what I thought I was paying for - I'll crank this one up this weekend see if I can get past the bldg - thats for the info!
  9. Ummmmmmmm, Slime - That was a great game (800 mode only!) Gotta break out the trackball and play that one again - been awhile
  10. Ok Im confused.....I got to the bottom but never found an elevator to take me to the car - It appears that I am not waiting long enough for th efinal elevator?? I dont understand the 'death' animation suggestion above?
  11. A retail store around where I live was going out of business around 1997. As such everything in the back room was put on the floor for sale. I went in looking for a CD player or VCR (They sold everything from lawn furniture to electronics) when lo and behold I saw 2 1050 disk drives mint in box (never opened) - 1010 Cassette Player in box as well, plus some common Atari 800 carts mint in boxes. They were asking original retail prices at first ($179.99 for the disk drive). Came back a week later and most of the stuff was gone but 1 disk drive remained for $40 which I thought a fair price.
  12. So are you saying you can finish the 1st bldg????? If so I may have to blow the dust off EA!
  13. I got Elevator Action at last years CGE and was disaapointed to find out you cant finish the first building - It has sat on my shelf ever since........................... No its not for sale
  14. Ok, To clear a few things up here: Dodge'm - You have 3 lives - After completing 3 or 4 screens you automatically lose a life, hence after 3 rounds the game ends since it takes away your lives no matter what - 1080 is top score and is actually easy to do once you see the double fast car pattern Raiders - Good game to fully finish - 2 joysticks shouldnt be that big a pain since you reall yonly need 1 at any one time - I enjoyed palying this one Demon Attack just goes blank at said screen unless you have a fixed cart like I do - Demon Attack is another game that easy once you look at it a few times. I scored over a million and gave up due to boredom (this was during a contest where I didnt realize no one else had a fixed cart and couldnt score over 200K - )

    Pac-Man

I think thats pretty much what happened - Time constraints and the 'mock up' that was done and shown to mgmt was choosen to go production. Shame shame shame
  16. You could put a wireless hub near the 2600 and then use whatever machie in the house that has wireless access. Serial is too much of a pain IMHO - Its really best for DOS based devices. I havent found many good serial tranfser programs that work well under Windoze where most of the users of this prob will want to run. If you already have a cuttle cart get an iPOD to transfer your 2600bin 'music'
  17. STEEM info: 1 - I wouldnt recommend running STEEM on a laptop - The video card prob isnt good enough to do it. I believe you can mount any disk on your system for STEEM though its quite easy to create a .st file from a floppy disk to run 2 - ST Software - after doing some searching I found a German based FTP server with just about everything you could want, I unfort cannot find it. You can however buy a CD collection from this site with everything I just mentioned: www.atari.st
  18. I am truly impressed - The dragons look awesome! The maze 'map' is a great idea - kinda like being at a megamall Haunted House should be next - and prob a bit easier
  19. Get STEEM if you want to play ST stuff, though you'll need a faster PC for this emu. So, Which of your ole 800 favorites are you now playing thanks to AtariWin800 Plus?
  20. Id be happy to test if you need some more folks. One thing I would ask is that if you're using DOS 2.5 auto config it to support 4 drives vs the 2 out of the box - maybe also have verify turned of for faster disk copying
  21. Doesnt Video Pinball have a 7 digit counter?
  22. Based upon part costs I would suggest selling it for $150 - your time investment is worth something! for $150 based upon the description I would be interested
  23. Support for all the bankswitched roms is prob unrealistic - for some of th emost popular would be nice - Ok, Heres one more thing to throw at you - What are the chances of making it a PCMCIA slot vs an ethernet one? Why? What if I have a wireless network and want to hook my 2600 up that way vs a cabled ethernet one - You dont have to supply the card(to reduce costs) Just something tho think about - Even a 'cabled' one would be great and I have CAT-5 jacks all over my house so no prob for me
  24. $120 would be my max output for such a device though I would be interested. Might be nice if cart had RAM on board to hold game in memory so PC with ROMS doesnt need to be on all the time to play a game How will you handle Bankswitched ROMS and such, or will this be like the Supercharger stuff where only 4/6/8K ROMS will work?
  25. Thats nothing, hell when I was your age I was rolling Asteroids having to walk barefoot in the snow across hot coals packing groceries for my folks just to get to the 1 2600 with asteroids in the entire nation. Nowadays you can find these anywhere
