I think he stopped producing the CC2 due to lack of demand. IIRC he made a second batch of carts only to have to sit on them a long time and eventually sell them for a discount. I picked up a 2nd one at the time I didnt need to help him move them. Of course once the 2nd batch finally sold out there was plenty of people asking for one - he was done then I think slow sales of the CC3 also hurt things.

How long to test if Demon Attack is the one that crashes?
Goochman replied to ComputerSpaceFan's topic in Atari 2600
Thanks for the follow-up. 20 years later in a high score contest I got called a cheat due to these 6 bytes . Trying to save 30 bytes after months of work must've been a brain splitting activity! -

I actaully rolled the score. Unfort TG has lost a # of my scores in their database.........oh well. Most folks got around the 4-500K range before level 84 kicked in. When I posted this score it raised alot of eyebrows -

How long to test if Demon Attack is the one that crashes?
Goochman replied to ComputerSpaceFan's topic in Atari 2600
The first and only time I was called out as a cheat was due ot this bug. Playing a Twin Galaxies 2600 contest I got a score way higher than everyone else on Demon Attack. Everyone started calling my scores 'doctored', etc... since all other players had the lvl 84 bug and my cart didnt. Atleast the issue got cleared up before the tournament was over........then again all DA scores were tossed and that was the 1 game I had the top score -
Apollo "68080" new 68K Core running on Atari STf
Goochman replied to Xebec's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
This is an interesting project to me. In order for me to want to buy this a few things would need to work 100%: 1. HDMI output is one of the bigger things for me - native output through HDMI would be required if possible. Some things HDMI and other via the regular channel wouldnt be itneresting 2. Support for Spectre 128 - Having the run the Mac emulation faster would be a nice side benefit 3. Any improvements to network support Just having a faster ST with low support for current software prob wouldnt be enough to get me to purchase. -
I was thinking this msg would mention a problem with the screen being blue, pacman looking a little washed out and the fruit rotten You'll get random results when things start to go wrong in the rom. Your prob lucky the game starts at all. Did you try to clean the contacts with isopropol alcohol?

What Atari computer would you buy
Goochman replied to Jim Pez's topic in Classic Computing Discussion
800XL I think is the best looking/most functional right away 8bit to get. The early ones have a nice keyboard also. The 130XE is a good package due to memory and the ECI, but the keyboards are not the most popular. If you didnt mind investing in modding a bit after purchase then the 1200XL would be my pick. I was an original 800 owner and love that machine, but going above 48k and trying to get XL/XE compatibility is a pain. Not alot of stuff used the 4 joystick ports and it has a big footprint. I personally use my 130XE when I break out my 8bit and I have a 800XL, 800, 400, 1200XL and XEGS. -
Thanks guys. I may get back to designing a few more levels in the hear future. Just not alot of free time the past few months. Thanks for making the editor available.

If you are referring to the Jungle level I posted then yes its possible to complete without losing a life.

Looks great. Whats sad is early on we knew the 8bit was capable of much better arcade ports but never got alot of great ones delivered. This is looking better and better.

Im not sure this has been 100% officially answered/cleared up since I think Piko and the people asking the question are reading it differently. About this being a "port" of the ST version. Reading between the lines this is NOT an ST binary modifed to run on the Jag like CJ does. Piko is calling it a "port" of the Amiga version. I am reading this as Piko has programming this game from scratch utilizing the look/feel of the Amiga version. Is it *not* a binary hack to run on the Jag. So Piko if you can confirm what I said is correct then the port question will be answered.

I created something similar back in the day using a printer stand and a piece of wood - Monitor and disk dirves went up top and ST/anything else could slide underneath. This looks alot nicer but mine was pro 1% the cost

I prob know less than most here and never spoke to Sloopy directly - but I gather from the past history shortly after he collected the money/assets his wife started divorce proceedings and any money on hand is then locked down. No idea if money sitting in any bank account was then evenly split to her. He also lost his job at some point during this whole mess. With kids and everything else going on I dont think VBXE was at the top of the list. I believe he has stated he has the core parts, but when you have 0 money the last thing you will spend $$$ on are the additional bits needed to finish and also pay for shipping out. It would be nice if some of the folks who have gotten their hardware returned recently would chime up - that would atleast verify that Slooppy continues to finish this as time and $$$ permit. I also agree that it would be nice if Sloopy could verify he still has peoples stuff in his possession after all the turmoil.

Im not worried about him getting back to me - I posted a few levels to help out - if he doesnt need them then no worries on my part, I had fun playing around with the editor.

I guess this has gone by the way side as no response from ING on this.

Wow fantastic port!

I went through a walk through of all 3 Zork games just to see them finished. I have to tell you I dont see how people finished 2 or 3. The puzzles are the most obscure things in the world - Im certin the hint book was necessary to finish these or tons of ton sitting through trial and error. My neighbor loved the Zork games and finished 1 but after many hours not 2.

This is my firmware setting in case it helps
-
I am using Win10 and Altirra not on the boot drive - it is an internal drive, just not the boot drive.
-
Ho ho ho xmas.zip
-
What version of Altirra are you using? Upon installing 2.71 it assigned .xex file extensions to Altirra. If oyu havent upgraded maybe try that to see if it fixes anything. You will need to add the XL firmware afterwards to avoid using the Altirra firmware.
-
I added the XL/XE OS to Altiraa and selected that as my default OS with Reverse Basic (you get that option when you add an OS other than the Altirra ones). My firmware says Atari XL/XE OS ver 2.0 I am running a XL 128K NTSC as my machine Ive added my XL ROM to this msg ATARIXL.ROM
