  1. ty, wow! i actuall see code..... but dang! never saw anything like it! this gonna be fun to learn eh, i put myself here... so i might as well go on with it
  2. i see nothing different... i don't think you got my point, i have a rom and i want to see it's code - how do i do that? all i can do is run that kernel.bin and the game bins. anyone able to help me through msn? please
  3. i got command propt to open dasm and i see the following: so how do i open a rom i have? yes this is the first time i'm dealing with DASM... on my desktop i have a folder called "al" - dasm is unzipped into it and i did the above as you see... also on my desktop i have stella - in there i have a folder called ROMS, so how do i open one of bin files? then after that how do i recompile it to test it in stella? so many post - it's confusing.. and nothing answereing my specific questions... there should be a step by step tutorial forum without replies from members.. it would be cleaner and easier.
  4. the issue i see (and had) ... here's what you do... 1.) unzip dasm 2.) go to command promt 3.)enter the following: CD c:\Documents and settings\Owner\Desktop\al\bin\DOS - but change "al" to the folder you unzipped to (folder should be 1 word not have spaces in it.. ex: al NOT atari learning) 4.) hit enter then type: dasm done! you should now see: hope that helps ok, i got this far.. but i don't know what to do after this
  5. ok, i will admit, that getting into programming for the atari 2600 is probably out of my league, HOWEVER... i will also say it's something that i REALLY would like to try (since i've always wanted to make games... not for the atari at first, but here i am and really want to give it a fair try)! i am a visual learner (that's what i've been told), anyways... looking for someone to work with me through either msn or aim. if interested leave a reply... otherwise i see no need to leave one. thanks in advance.
  6. yeah i expect it all to be hard.. but i've always wanted to make games (i'm known for ideas... just getting them to work or make them by myself is another story). i started with vb6, think i could make games (and you can.. just not what i had in mind...), then i come across the fact that one can program for the atrai 2600 - and i'm like cool! gotta give it a shot (not expecting miracles here...), just wana get my feet wet). if i could create just 1 game.. i would have accomplished what i set out to do (and i never expect it to be much.. just complete and fully working the way i intended it to).
  7. only programming experience i have is HTML and Visual Basic 6 - but i have a friend that understands basic and is going to be helping - but will also look for help here. wow, i didn't know atariage had all those services - but i do think that i will need one of these: http://i13.ebayimg.com/03/i/05/bf/2a/cc_1.JPG , to help lower costs to produce the cartridges, tho it would be less work for me to have atariage do it - just afraid i couldn't afford thier service. thanks for the info! 1 more question if i may... i have the 3 items you mention but where or how do i start off? sorry, if this was vb or html i wouldn't have to ask... ps: i never used DASM or anything like it, so all of that is going to be a bit hard for me.
  8. flavoredthunder- i can't say what that hand gesture looks like for your avatar LMAO! sorry... was just too funny, especially with the word flavored right above it LMAO!!! seriously tho.. no offense, it was just funny

  11. was wondering EXACTLY what i need to make a game... i have the following: DASM DASM-Atari2600 distella30 tiapaint hexeditor http://i13.ebayimg.com/03/i/05/bf/2a/cc_1.JPG - assume i need one of these too right? obviusly to burn onto a chip what other tools are need? where do you buy empty cases and chips? i seen a site once, but forgot to bookmark it.... thanks in advance

Random Terrain, that's not the ladybug version i had intended. but yes that makes the second copy on a website i have seen... (probably is the same one that i am trying to get... only seen the title on the site). jetset, yes this is the version i am referring to... ps: since people make homebrew games... i am surprised that this game was not remade as of yet... wish i could program to make atari carts... but unfortunately i only deal with HTML and vb6 - and it's a pitty that you can't convert vb6 to atari language... boy i'd make some wicked games! http://www.classicgaming.com/rotw/ladybug/ - scroll all the way to the bottom... end result if you want to download the MAME - you gotta pay for it so i haven't bothered needless to say.

are you sure? i have seen it available on a website (not saying which at the moment - trying to get it myself ) - anyways... coleco bought the rights to it... so i believe in the end it was released at some point. i know at one point it wasn't a very popular MALE game til coleco released it. i also saw on another site that you needed MAME to download the rom to play it.

  17. thinking maybe taking one and making a mold out of it and mass produce em! it's not that hard... i used to make molds for boat companies before
  18. i found this site: http://www.best-electronics-ca.com/CX40_REBUILD%20KIT.htm Atari CX40 Rubber Boot CO121109 $4.00 Atari CX40 Boot retaining Ring CO12110 $1.50 Atari CX40 Orange/Red Fire button CO12114 $1.25 Atari CX40 Fire button Spring CO12951 $.50 Atari CX40 6 conductor Joystick cable CA014058 $3.95 anybody know where i can get cheaper boots? i need a pair

  20. how come stuff like this never happens to me? i only have 27 games and none are worth braging about either... i try to buy lots on ebay but i'm always getting out bid. anybody have any free carts they wanna pass around?
  21. value in my app is optional to fill - can be either the actual value of the game or what you paid for it...
  22. umm.. that is no copy cat! i made that and it's still in the works (pretty much really done), however if any of you have any ideas.. just mention them. P.S: i peronally haven't seen ANYTHING like it... cart commander is just over blown and has alot that's not needed.... i tried and i didn't care for it... - you CAN use pc software on a mac... just can't do it the other way around - i probably have the least amount than all of you... i have 27 and 2 duplicates. - i just got my VADER and started collecting again after 19 years... yeah i'm 32 probably older than most of you.. but age doesn't matter... just getting back into it for my kids... i enjoyed and i thought they would too. - my app is able to print out a list for you according to your entries and ty for the looking nice comment! ps: i am kind of insulted you called my app a "copycat", Famicoman... i hadn't seen any apps like it, so i decided to make one...
