I would like to convert one of my Atari CX40 joysticks to left-handed play for my sister. I'm guessing all I have to do is swap the wiring around on the PCB and that should do it, no? I know there used to be a wiring adapter for this but I'm okay with the permanent modification. Is this modification possible?
Thanks,
Andy
Yep, that's it. The pinout is:

Just switch it around accordingly.
Good job! Thanks for the quick and concise reply.

19 posts in 10 years.....now that is truly amazing!!!
I have all of the games you are looking for Andy. They're all commons, so I would let them go for $.50 each plus shipping. Let me know if you still need them.
I know, I know, 19 posts is pretty sad. I was a very serious collector over 10 years ago. It's all been sitting on shelves for 10 years and I have now closed that chapter of my life. I still get a warm and fuzzy feeling for Atari 2600. That's why I am building a small master collection that fits in 1 or 2 suitcases. I even bought a 19" 4:3 CRT TV to play the games every once in a while. The Harmony cart is a real PLUS for my collection.
Thanks for the offers, I'll send you a PM soon.

Hey everyone,
I have been collecting Atari 2600 anything for many years. I recently moved and sold my collection. Before I let it go, I failed to pull out a few common favorite games. I can't believe I let the whole thing go without grabbing a short list of games.
I am asking anyone with duplicates or directions to find these titles (online dealers) to help spare me the trouble of hunting down and overpaying on eBay.
I have 2 Atari Club Suitcases that I plan on filling with 12 carts and new (ish) hardware (consoles, joysticks and paddles). That will be the extent of my collection. Oh, and a Harmony cart to play all the titles.
Any help or ideas?
My list from memory is as follows,
Combat
Air Sea Battle
Target fun
Maze Craze
Video Pinball
Kaboom
River Raid
Breakout
Super Breakout
Space Invaders - Sears is okay
Warlords
Bowling
Adventure
I know there are a few more but I can't remember right now.
Thanks in advance for a place to buy these titles at one time. I've been away from the scene too long and don't know the best place to look.

I'm not too impressed with the Atari 2600 jr's collectibility, never have been. They were never very interesting to me but I had the Atari BUG 10-15 years ago and was buying everything I could find.

Glued or taped shut boxes? 2600 jr I think had a round clear sticker sealing it originally.
Although technically reconditioned consoles have seen the light of day- original owner and reconditioning contractor or Atari.
The 2600A boxes are glued on both ends and the 2600 jr's are shink wrapped but I didn't look close enough for a clear sticker.
I also have a sealed Atari Jaguar system.

I have 2 boxed (sealed) Atari 2600A units and 2 sealed Atari Jr consoles. These have been packed away and never opened in about 30 years.
The first one is a standard 2600A.
The Second one is a "factory reconditioned" 2600A model.
The other Atari Jr. consoles are in red boxes and shrink wrapped.
Again, all are sealed and are time capsules of gaming history.
I am accepting offers.
Thanks for looking,
Andy

The 2600 JR was never sold at retail shrinkwrapped. Are you sure these weren't purchased from Best Electronics or re-sealed at some point?
I did buy the 2600 jr's at Best Electronics. It was probably 10 years ago when I ordered them. The 2 2600A consoles I picked up from eBay and a forum.
Thanks for looking,

I already have a sealed 2600A and sealed 2600A refurbished and am looking for the third sister console "Not for Resale, For promotional Purposes Only". Paying Ebay price.
Thanks,

It's pretty easy to do this inside the joystick, no soldering required.
I guess I just swap the wies around and make it a left handed joystick semi-permanately.
Thanks,
Andy

Does anyone sell or make a converter cord for and Atari CX40 joystick that makes the joystick left handed? I thought Best Electronics used to sell one?
Thanks,
Andy

If I buy a RCA converter with 1 female RCA that splits into 2 male RCA connectors and plug the Atari 2600 into the female and the 2 Males into the RCA in ports on the front of my TV, will I be able to see and hear my Atari 2600?
Thanks,
Andy

The sealed 2600 consoles are 2 2600a in the big boxes. One is a normal 2600a and the other is a sealed Factory reconditioned model that is in the same style big box but with different colors so you can tell them apart. The other 2 2600 are in shrinkwrapped Red boxes. Not silver vaders but Red.
I also have a Sears Video Arcade II in the box, Box condition 8 out of 10.
Thanks, Andy

Where do I do that? I'll start looking for that place.
Thanks for the pointer.

I also have a bunch of 5200 controllers, 8 I think. I will build an inventory list if you are serious. I can send pics also. I have several 8 or 9 rarity carts.
Let me know.

I have 4 storage racks with 5 shelves each. I estimate 700 cartridges, 25 2600 consoles, tons of controllers, 4 new sealed in box 2600 consoles, 1 new sealed in box Jaguar.
I was addicted to collecting for 3 solid years but I have to let it all go now. I would really like 1 lump sum for all because I want to make this as easy as possible. I don't want to spend 3 more years trying to sell it all. I have tons of Colecovision and Intellivision too.
Email me at [email protected] if you are serious. I will deliver to every corner of Illinois and 1 hour outside the illinois border for free. I promise it will be a truckload on a pallet all boxed up.
Don't let the price scare you, You could double your money if you piece it out!
$3200.00

I just got a pile of Atari stuff and in it was a Parker Bros. catalog. It has The Incredible Hulk, Mcdonald's, and The Lord of the Rings Journey to Rivendell. Where these ever released? Just curious how far they went with these games.
Thanks, Andy

I already have a sealed Factory reconditioned system and a sealed 2600a. I am looking for a sealed Promo system. I am willing to pay for it or trade some other stuff like sealed Jr.'s or rare carts.
Let me know if any of you know where I can find one.
Thanks, Andy

Ben helped me build my master collection of my choice of 2600 games. He was great with his communication and terms of the deal.
Thanks,
Andy Cox
