  1. For the record, I'm about to add another hour to Food Fight, at least 30 minutes to Beef Drop(both 7800), and an hour to Missile Command(2600). If I'm still in the mood(I'll update with a yes), I'll do 30 on both Circus Atari and Kaboom.

Can't help it... a local radio station is playing all 80's music(Jack FM, for those in similar markets)..... and it puts me in the mood.

  2. In the last 7 days,

Pitfall 10 hours (not the same 10 from other week)

    Othello 4 hours

Donkey Kong arcade (bonus game on DK64) 30 mins

I know the last one is on the N64 but it seems to me to be identical to the arcade so I consider it an emulator.

How the hell do you access that? I don't particularly like DK64, but if there's the arcade version in there somewhere......

    (back to topic)

I've been playing a bit here recently:

    Missile Command(2600) ~1 hour

    Food Fight(7800) ~ 45 minutes

    Beef Drop(7800) ~ 2 hours

    Keystone Kapers ~20 minutes

    Kaboom ~1 hour

  3. In other words, am I the only person who uses the FB2 as an FB2 excusively?

I know a bunch of you bought extras to keep them in the box(I would have, but didn't have the cash), and some of you bought seconds/thirds so you'd have one to modify.

    I now have a working 2600, 5200, and 7800. I didn't need to modify my FB2(although I did entertain the idea before I knew my 2600 wasn't shot... and I didn't have the 7800 yet).

I'm glad it was made "chopable", since many of us may have needed to do it, or just wanted to for the sake of "doing it".

  4. I went out (just got back).... dealing with Baltimore traffic at rush hour.... just to buy one of those little buggers.

I'm hoping they'll still have another one next month sometime, because I do want one to keep in the box.

I thought about Rose when I was driving home with it...... seeing how she would have looked at me, smiled a little and rolled her eyes, as if to say; "I married a kid, and he's always going to be that way."

  5. My wife would never do that with the 7800. She doesn't personally care much for the system, but co-exists with it very well. If she needs to move the system for some reason she asks permission first, and handles it like it's made of crystal. I've got a great wife.

How'd you teach her to do all that!? I'd love to know...

I don't know really. A few years ago when we lived in an apartment and had a roommate move out, us and our other roommate decided to just keep the room empty. One day I came home and she had made it into a games room for me. In our house now, she's given me the unfinished basement, and I am allowed to do whatever I want with it now and when we finish it. Right now it has a foosball table, poker table, and the 7800, O2, and Master System. I think I just lucked out in getting an incredible wife.

My friend, I had a wife like that. Take good care of her, and make sure she gets her regular exams!! I lost my wife to ovarian cancer a little over 2 years ago. She sounds like a good woman, so take good care of her!

  6. Holy Spit! Super Pac Man on the 7800!! I must have this! For the love of all that's Holy and several things that aren't, PLEASE get this on a cart!

I have the 5200 version, and it's pretty decent, but the controller just doesn't work very well with it. I also have the Jaxx SPM stick, and it needs to be worked on.... (more sub-standard joystick parts)

If there is a list, I want to be on it.

  7. I happen to have one of them.

Pics in my old thread disappeared, so I'll post them here.

I still need to resecure the coin door, and fix the Pot in the throttle control, as well as replace a couple of LEDs.... but otherwise, it works like a charm. :D

I am thinking about selling it.... so if anyone is interested, know that it's in the Baltimore area.... and weighs enough to not be shippable.

  8. Sorry guys, work has been having me ready for bed very shortly after getting home. I still have everything, and yes, "dibs" are in place. I have at least 3 drives(all currently spoken for). Nathan, I may have a 4th one, enabling you to get 2. I will have pictures of the games, and the drives, available for review saturday afternoon. As it stands, I have found cables/PS's and disks for the drives. No manuals have been located.

    Again, my apologies!

  9. You mean to tell me you sold a boxed G1 for $65?

Jetfire went for $65 plus shipping.

Sorry man, you got robbed. I've been selling some of my G1 stuff for about 7 years. I have done QUITE well on the big boxed items, sorry your experience is not the same.

I sold a loose Soundwave for almost what you sold your boxed one for. Man, sorry to hear your experiences. They are worth more than that. I suppose condition is part of it but still....

    C

That's e-bay for ya. It's ok, I did fairly well with that round. I still have more to sell when the next movie comes out. I also have many other collectables to part with, including a near complete set of Jem dolls(missing 2 Misfits, and the Stingers dolls), complete with boxes. I'm waiting on those, to see if anything happens to make them valuable(come on, make a movie, dammit!!)... Plus all of the loose Star Wars, wrestling(WWF), and misc other toys. The bitch is, I really only have time to deal with this kind of thing in the winter(when I have no money to spend on listing fees) and the summer, when I am really busy with housework.

I may take a weeks vacation this year, specifically for the purpose.

  10. Get a picture of that Tattoo..... I want to see it.

Anyhow, the only local place that carries them, is called "Mega Media Exchange". GameStop used to, but I haven't seen any there in years. Of course, the local Goodwill Stores do, and I just found a new one a short drive away that I am going to hit this weekend, and see if they have any. The local Flea Market was a bust last time I was there, but I've picked some up there before.

  11. I am quickly closing in on 200 2600 carts. I'm actually starting to get into the hacks/homebrews as well. I recently aquired(from people on here) a rarity 8(Crazy Climber) and rarity 9(Swordquest:Waterworld). Things I never thought I would have. Especially once I found out CC was an 8. I loved that game in the arcade, and didn't even know it existed for the 2600....until recently. I have a few buys pending....and then I have to stop for a while. It's getting out of hand.

  12. Thanks for the info guys!!! And as an FYI, I went to school with Mike Rowe's brother, Phil. (Yeah, I have yearbooks, and can prove that).

Edit: I have Vista, and MediaPlayer won't play the DL'd files. I'm DLing that vlc- player someone mentioned, to see if that'll play them. I can have some fun on youtube, just with all of the music videos I love that are on there.

  13. I'm just waiting for someone to say "Pac Man".

    :P

Seriously... I can't say that I like any of the arcade ports BETTER than the original....but there are several that I feel are definitely close to the original, and rank very close to as much fun. Berzerk and Carnival are at the top of the list, in my book. With Wizard of Wor and Missile Command close on their heels.
