  1. If you are somewhat competant with a soldering iron, you can probably do the hack yourself. There are several threads around here showing you detailed instructions on how to do it. I was going to attempt to do it myself, but I found out that the only thing wrong with my 2600 was a dead power supply. I found this out by doing the 9-volt battery hack I found on this website. I also did the "LED power light" hack....just because I could. But, as someone mentioned, you could probably find a real 2600 cheaply enough. Although, I'd recommend getting a 7800 and use your FB2 joysticks on it. There are some fantastic 7800 games out there(Donkey Kong Junior, and Food Fight are my personaly favorites, and I'm going to get a few Homebrews this year, too.) As a bonus, the 7800 also plays most 2600 carts with no problem at all. I have found a few that won't fit into the slot, but they are 3rd party carts.
  2. I just hope that doesn't mean they are going to come out with yet ANOTHER damned Pac-Man stick. Some new Gamekeys for the Ms. Pac-Man stick would be nice, though. (Yeah...I'll hold my breath) I would LOVE to see them liscence the old "Donkey Kong" games, and put them on a stick. Donkey Kong, DK Junior, and Mario Brothers would be worth $20. Hell, I'd pay that for those games on a game-key for my Ms. Pac stick. Production costs would be cheap...but I know Nintendo would probably rape them(and us) on the liscencing, though.
  3. Holy ancient thread revival Batman! Mine is sitting on the floor in front of the TV in my bedroom, right in front of my 5200, with my 7800 to the right of it, a Super Nintendo to the left of it, and a Nintendo 64 next to my 5200. I also have a Buztime Trivia game sitting on top of the TV, and 6 PnP's sitting on a shelf nearby. (Yes, all of that, plus a VCR and DVD player hook into the same TV.)
  4. I'm just curious if anyone has contacted FSS about this project, and what their responce was(if there was one). That one screenshot looked fantastic. If this game ends up looking like that, and still being playable...it would be well worth the "high price" we signed up for. In fact, it might even be worth more if it meant getting permission from FSS. Something to note in reference to that: I contacted the management company of my and Rose's favorite artist about using some lyrics between chapters of a book I am writing. They wanted to know the distribution range(limited to country, continent or worldwide), number of projected copies, and specifically what I wanted to use. I was not able to get back to them, as a virus took care of my system. I know all about assumptions, but I believe that a low production run, for an antiquated system, might be allowed with minimal expense. I believe that, because it really wouldn't cost them anything to allow it, they make a few bucks, and we get a game. Copyright laws in the US are strange and intricate creatures. It never hurts to ask, though.
  5. I'm not quite sure what you mean...but there have been lots of good homebrews made and available. The carts are usually recycled rarity 1 carts, with new PC-boards and chips. I'm honestly not sure what hardware is used to do the actual coding.
  6. For me, Carnival is a really fun, challenging game. Some others have been mentioned already...Berzerk(only version better is the 5200 one...but the 2600 is still great), Missile Command, Circus Atari, Wizard of Wor.... I have some duplicates of some...if you are interested, I can make a list for you. Nothing terribly rare, but rarity doesn't define the "fun" level, either.
  7. FINE! I will....did....whatever. (I was actually surprised it was still available when I PM'd about it)
  8. Once they are mailed, will you let the rest of us know what they are? I was kinda interested....but I veer away from "mystery" things.
  9. Die Seite kann nicht aufgerufen werden Give the guy a f-n' break his nephew is dying. Here is the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/Atari-Jaguar-Gorf-Spec...1QQcmdZViewItem Chill out, dude....I mearly quoted what his link lead me to.
  10. Actually, unless Jetfire is factory sealed in the box....you aren't going to get anywhere near $700 for it. I sold mine last year, along with a bunch of others(Yeah...I used the movie hype to sell them)...but the most I got for any of them was $180. That was for Soundwave(complete in box), and ALL of his cassettes(I bundled them together). Reflector netted a good chunck of change, as well. 3rd in line for top price was Optimus Prime, also CIB. Jetfire went for $65 plus shipping.
  11. I can tell you that the above is a patented lie. It only gets worse.
  12. I still wanna know where Gravitar was sold for $.50!!!!!
  13. I'm not sure... but he's got a good feedback rating. 99.7% out of 6611 transactions. 1 Neg and 2 Neutrals in the past year. 3 non-positives out of 1881(for the past year). Reading the feedback he's gotten, so far the 1 neg was a quick-to-neg buyer. I couldn't find the neutrals. I'd say it's probably safe to buy from him. Edit: You could always ask him for a clearer picture.
  14. It's about time. If they manage to uncover it, they should call in Geraldo for the great dig to unearth all those boxes/carts. It might be a make-up for the "Vault" incident.
  15. A trip to my favorite shop netted me the 5200 version of Gorf. I have the 2600 version(aquired from the same store). They did a bang-up job on both versions. I just wish they had incorporated the voice into at least the 5200 version. But, yeah. CBS games are pretty good.
  16. Yeah....they are Super Oreos.
  17. I don't really know if the strike itself had any affect on E-Bay...but I'm pretty sure it got their attention. I'm saying that because I saw a news story on the strike, on a national news program. That kind of publicity couldn't have made E-Bay execs very happy.
  18. I'll grant you I don't know alot about the PET machines, but I'm thinking it could be an easy fix. Open it up, and see if you can find the fuse on the circuit board. It could be that simple.
  19. Try a new power supply, first. You should be able to get one at your local WalMart or Radio Shack. If that doesn't work, you'll have to open her up and look for bad componants.
