  1. I know I've replied with my interest already, but I do want to encourage others to think about the possibility that this package COULD be another step in making those games you want a reality. Curt can come up with all kinds of ideas he likes, but without Atari's approval, they will go nowhere. Products like these can and will show the higher ups that there still is demand for products, and money to be made there. Yes, it's a very limited market, and especially in a shitty economy. Buy the set, and contact Atari asking for Tempest, or whatever other games we can get. $$$$ gets their attention.
  2. I would probably jump on the complete set. I admit, I'm a sucker for that kind of thing, especially when it's something I really, really like. So, please, Curt.... make complete sets for those of us who are interested.
  3. I am just relieved to see that I am not the only person to use a shot glass to hold screws.
  4. Al, would you prefer a pic of the carts I have before shipping them, just to be sure they are acceptable? I have 2 Coleco carts, and 15 regular carts that I can send in... but I don't want to if they won't be of use to you.
  5. Just out of curosity, what price are people demanding? I have several units I'd part with, and not demand your children.
  6. I agree... Beef Drop is one of the best games out there! Quite difficult, but damned fun!
  7. Allow me to say that Super Pac-Man for the 7800 is straight up WELL F'ING DONE!
  8. Can you detail this cheat? I've never heard of it before. I'll be honest, I'm not a huge fan of Galaga. I never was. I'm not saying it's a bad game, and I have come to like it more in the past few years than I ever did in my youth. I just had more fun with games like: Gorf, Battlezone, Scramble(one of my alltime favs!), Time Pilot, Berzerk, Super Pac-Man, and a bunch of others. Actually, I do the cheat on Level 1. It involves letting all the aliens formate without shooting them. Then destroy them all EXCEPT the bottom 2 bees in the far left column. Then you let them fly around for 15 minutes or so, avoiding their shots. Careful, the shots can warp through one side of the screen to the other, so make note of this. Eventually the bees will no longer shoot at you. When they make a pass 3 times or so without shooting, kill them. From now on no enemies will shoot at you. Wow! I'm going to try that on the PnP stick and see if it works. If not, then it'll be off to find a machine to do it on. Thank you!
  9. Scramble. For the love of God.... Scramble!
  10. Where can one aquire this "Europad"? The Pro-line sticks are just slightly too big for my hands, and I have the cramping problem with them. I would just use my 2600 sticks with it, but they don't work on all of my games.
  11. You know, part of the reason we collect, is to "show off" a bit. Not in the "nyah nyah, I have it and you don't!" way, but in the "hey, check this out... isn't it cool?" way. I was quite surprised at alot of the BS posts in this thread. I'm fairly disappointed in you guys. No one is looking for someone to be jealous of, and anyone who REALLY thinks someone on this forum will break into their house to steal a R-8/9/10 needs to lay off the drugs. Take some pride in your collections, and show off a little. If you want to be secretive, then just don't post.... there's no reason to be a douche about it. Of my rarities, I think Crazy Climber has to be my favorite. It's an 8, and while I do have one 9(Swordquest:Waterworld), I prefer playability above just "I gotta have it". I may end up selling that Waterworld, in the near future... but you ain't getting my CC. Also, we should allow Homebrews to be included. Not repros, or even hacks(where the name and visuals are changed)... but something coded from scratch should be included.

  13. Hey, you just remember, YOU are part of why this community rocks! Because you are willing to put the time and effort into making a game the rest of us will enjoy!!
  14. A 2600/5200/7800 box with a(non user accessible)SD card would be neat. If it's not user accessible, how would you add games to it? USB cable? I think the ability to add your choice of games(via service like iTunes) would be fantastic, since it would allow people to buy the games they want. Of course, a small group of built in "stock" games would be appropriate. Curt, can you give us any clue as to what kinds of games we can look forward to? I mean, any chance of some kick-ass Activision, or other 3rd party games?
  15. I bought a set of those mini's.... from a store called "Five Below".... I don't even remember what I paid for them, but it was mostly for the novelty of it. They are still in the packages, and only for show. Edit: Wow... my 500th post. Far out!
  16. Not similar pinout, identical. From the Vic-20(possibly even the PET line), C=64, all other C= 8-bit models, and every Amiga computer had the same ports as the Atari 2600. I don't know if they liscensed the technology, or not... but they all can use the same sticks.
  17. I know it's early.... but could I please get dibs on cart #3 if they are numbered?
  18. My r8, which looks better than my r9. It's also more fun to play.
  19. That gives me an idea..... I have the glass marquee from an old pinball/video game shooter called "Rapid Fire".... I actually searched all over KLOV to find that name, I couldn't remember it. I originally had the entire upper portion of the cabinet, but it was heavily damaged in the fire that killed my favorite spot. :'( I saved the glass, although I believe I had to tape a portion of the picture down. I now need to locate that thing, and do what you did. That's awesome! Thanks for that idea!!
  20. Rally-X, while a great game, is available on several PlugNPlays. I'd rather see something that's not available on any or very few other consoles/PnP/etc. Scramble, Zookeeper, Stop Thief, Double Dragon, probably more than I can think of.
  21. I quoted myself in my book with this: "Here we are, America... still going to Hell, but now someone has stolen the handbasket!"
  22. That's part of it. I also think that the games have a lower level of replayability these days. I still play games on my N64, and my SNES(my two newest/youngest) consoles, but I still get a thrill when I fire up my Atari's.
