As a kid, it was Lord of the Rings for me. Typically it wasn't released
The only other one I got really excited about was Death Star Battle, which is pretty average gaming.
-
That's such a RELIEF that it arrived!

-
Hard to say really - I absolutely love the homebrew & repro stuff that I managed to acquire.
Out of the old lists of games? It's a 50/50 split between the CIB copies of Oink! & No Escape (the PAL versions of these are fairly unusual) I waited a few years to own these & the games are great to play

Postage for a game from Australia- UK Air-Mail is about A$7.00 (£2.70). Lots of obscure and Unlicensed Titles here, And theirs HES titles everywhere.I've dealt with a few Aus traders & can say that they are excellent sellers & don't charge a fortune for shipping either. I think the longest I've ever waited for games to arrive from Australia was a mere 7 days - much faster than many items I've bought from UK traders!
So far I haven't found any issues with compatability.

I must admit that I missed the incorrect font use - something did strike me as odd but I couldn't put my finger on it. I really like the artwork though & the use of strong colours does add an authentic flavour to the presentation.

I'm a big fan of the 'classics' games, both Checkers games, Bridge, Othello, Backgammon (I suck at this), Video Chess etc., etc. all superbly entertaining & one of the most overlooked genres IMO.

Hmmmm... is there any 2600 game in which you do highly repetitive work and also get to drink beverages?Fast Food?

I'm pleased to see that additional runs of SC will be made if demand is high enough, though it would be nice to get a copy signed by Bob Polaro

just trust me, Osmeroid, old friend.
No grubby Pac-Man (or otherwise) suits, I promise!!!!

-
GAH! PLEASE tell me you are kidding. Costumes? I mean, what screams pathetic more than a 35 year old man in a dirty Pac-man suit? Dude, THIS is why classic gamers cannot get past the stereotype of being losers (see also STAR TREK fan who dresses like and speaks Klingon). Its sad, but last year, that one dude dressed up with the life-sized Pitfall cart get-up, and while he was perfectly fine with it and had a good time, I overheard several people having fun at his expense and being downright mean about it. I felt really bad for him, because he was a cool guy.
I'm not saying it can't be pulled off and done in a tongue-in-cheek kind of way, but I really can do without a large percentage of people dressed up like Dig Dug.

I'll be guided by your wisdom in this matter!

Who's getting in to the swing of things?
I'm not asking for folks to give away what costume they'll be wearing (that would spoil the surprise!) but it would be great to know that plenty of attendees will be getting into the mood.
Anyone willing to confess???

Oh well, it's still a great game & the Anthology is just superb!
A double-helping of kudos to everyone involved

-
I'm just pleased to finally find out what Tempest had up his sleeve!
Nice one T!

-
I finally got my copy of Activision Anthology over the weekend - and for the first time I damn well got my name in the credits!!!!!!
WOOOOHOOOOO!
One question; Thwocker, what do the 'Exit' signs do, if anything?
-
Let's hope Mr. Slocum is feeling creative!
Hey Paul!

Pengo
in Atari 2600
Sorry, can't comment on the Pengo title - I DO like you're avatar though!
Sid is a 'class' act

-
Another unreleased 2600 title?
What a shame!

-
PC4 really is something Ive got to look foreward too, Tempest dancing, in a Tutu?????
I'd pay to see that alone!!!! -
Actually I'll be at the AA booth demoing my new prototype.
Tempest
Which prototype would that be?

-
If we're talking car racing games, Enduro, but any type of racing? Then it has to be Sky Jinks

The maze would begin as being symmetrical but allowing the monsters to 'eat' parts of the maze would remove the symmetry.
I suppose the easiest way to get around that would be to simply not include that feature.
Spent more time looking through some coin-op sites & came across a few more games that might port well to the 2600. Any thoughts about 'Domino' & 'Timber'?
-
Thanks Uber!
*throws gauntlet down to the floor with a mighty crash*
Does anyone want to take up the gauge???
In all seriousness, I would love to see this game ported to the 2600 & like many here, IF I had the programming skills, I'd love to be the one to do it. Sadly, I code about as well as a week dead fish
This is a really addictive game & like all the best Atari titles, simplicity is more

He is thinking of what you call popcorn, Jarre did a song that sounds just like that on the album Oxygen I believe. That's the bugger!
I was thinking that to create Pengo with fx & soundtrack closer to the arcade, would it be necessary to do a Pitfall II, i.e. dedicated soundchip?
-
@CPUWIZ - is it really different from Solaris?
Please let it be!!!!!
