Check out Maplins website. I had a look there some months ago & they were selling ROM burners. These came with software & instructions so should be fairly straightforward, should be!

He-he! Two words, "docking sequence". But could the 2600 handle it??
-
Actually, has anyone ever tried to port Moon Cresta to any of the old consoles?
-
These units can only be seen with ground in sight and travelling to the right. After passing the crashed pilot I flew on for a further 10 minutes without encountering anything else. I turned the balloon around and within a few seconds had come into sight of the crashed pilot again. This also works if you fly left from your start locale - no matter how far along you seem to go, there is a definite 'play area' in Sky Patrol. Could it be that the object of the game was to rescue the downed pilot and return safely home? I can't land the balloon anywhere and even returning to base simply allows the balloon to carry on. The anti-aircraft gunner will fire but only when you have reached a certain altitude. However, when you reach the height where the salvos become visible, you're out of his range. Getting shot down seems to be a pretty tough thing to do! Game variation 2 alters how your balloon responds. There is a response delay between adding hot air or dropping ballast, making the balloon more difficult to control. Game 3 is simply more difficult to control your balloon in than game 2. I still can't get any sort of response from the tanks & have no idea what the factories signify, if anything. Does anyone know if there is a more complete version of Sky Patrol around? If you fly to the left and get your 10 points for that & then fly all the way to the downed pilot, your score tops out at 28590.

As promised, the pic of the airbase but still not a whiff of another aircraft!
-
Well, I guess that I have. There is also an airbase, 5000 points reward for that (I'll post the pic of it tomorrow) & also a crashed pilot with plane, worth a whopping 8000 points. Nicely animated too.
-
Last but not least is the industrial complex, fly over this and add 2000 to your score. The Wonka factory may be at full capacity but there's no time to stop for a chocolate break - not with important balloon work to be done!
-
Next bad guy to be met is the anti-aircraft gunner. Meet him and gain 1000 points. Note - Either the gunner couldn't hit the side of a barn at two paces or the collision register hasn't been implemented. I even obliged him by flying over this unit at minimum altitude and came away unscathed. Can't say the same for the gunner, who after watching the balloon pass overhead half a dozen times felt 'a bit dizzy' and had to go for a lie down.

Yep! Back to Sky Patrol again. I took a few screen shots with Stella today after encountering a few of the different 'enemies'. Was the point to this game meant to be more along the lines of a recon mission? I haven't found any use for the fire button so far. And no, I've not spotted any biplanes or airships either! Number one, "The Tank" which earns you 500 points.

That's good news, even just the Imagic game list could add a pretty significant number of titles for the 2600. Anyone want to attempt Atari 'Microsurgeon'????
-
That's a shame - nothing wrong with Solaris, but it would've been nice to know that there was another 2600 proto out there just waiting to be discovered. @Tempest - Has there ever been any mention of this title in any sort of release? This is gonna bug me until I find out
-
@Alex - Elk attack???? That's a pretty good game.
-
M-Network 'Space Attack' I think.
-
I can appreciate that having spent several days playing Sky Patrol trying figure out what to do or if anything was going to happen - apart from float around aimlessly. Found some tanks & gunners for my troubles.
-
I came across it in a games list about 3 years ago. There were all sorts of weird titles listed in it, including Star Raiders 2.
-
Will you tell us if we guess the title?????

Three little words: Off The Wall As soon as the blackbird appears, you can pretty much bet that within 30s the ball will riccochet of the birdy at near lightspeed and you lose a life. If it hadn't been for this, OTW would have been a great game.
-
Donkey Kong Donkey Kong (it bears repeating that one!) Riddle fo the Sphinx Laser Blast Snoopy (depending on which game option you're playing) Keystone Kapers Berzerk (w/out Otto) Sky Skipper (hit 30K & there doesn't appear to be any further increase in difficulty)

Xenophobe & the 'upper' screen in Pressure Cooker?

Once you've got some cash, here's a quick how to.... Buy a TVR Tuscan Speed 6 & enter the TVR Challenge. 50K per win and if you save the game on the penultimate race & are 11 points+ clear, enter the last race but quit out of it. When it comes to winning a car you have a 1 in 4 chance of winning a TVR Speed 12. Keep reloading the saved game until you're awarded this car, very fast and can be won multiple times so you can start selling them off for lots of cash. How to win the Escudo PP ed with no driving skill required Buy a CTR2 & upgrade to the max, but also buy dirt racing tyres and fit them. Enter the Rally stages with this car. When racing don't worry too much about steering, just let the walls guide the car as much as possible (it has dreadful understeer anyway) and STAY on the accelerator. You'll win all races by huge margins because it is simply such a fast car. It takes about 90 minutes to finish the whole lot of Rally stages but you come away with lots of cash, a nice bunch of Rally spec cars & of course the Escudo. I actually used this to complete all of the Rally stages a few months back and is a guarenteed winner. On the downside, by the time you've finished the Rally section your CTR2 will be in pretty bad shape, mine lost almost 50 bhp but then again, if you've an Escudo, maxing the upgrades for this will give you a car with 1881 bhp!!! For a very cheap 200mph+ car, buy the Toyota Supra RZ (about 40K) & max the upgrades. This car can manage higher speeds than most of Le Mans spec cars & at a fraction of the cost. As I recall, it will reach about 420 km/h.

@EDIT_5 - Where abouts in the UK are you situated?
-
so what are you missing for to complete comapny x's games?
Osmeroid replied to Godzilla's topic in Atari 2600
Ikari Warriors & Motorodeo were definitely released in NTSC format as I remember. I'm fairly certain BMX Airmaster was also a red label release in NTSC format too. Try eBay UK & Australia, I've seen several copies of these two games (boxed copies too) over the years, most recently just a few weeks ago. Not too expensive either, especially Aus. -
I think 'The Hulk' is one of those Grail-like games. I've never heard that a prototype has been found (that doesn't really count for much!) probably someone like Tempest, CPUWIZ or Marco would know far more than me. Guys?

Within a breadth of a gnat's chuff of getting all the Activision titles, still need Cosmic Commuter, Double Dragon & River Raid II.
