I need advice on releasing a 2600 prototype ....
Osmeroid replied to rob fulop's topic in Atari 2600
@Rob I guess that I'd go along with what seems to be the concencus here, a limited edition release, including cart, maual & box and a regular cart only on wide release. The thought of owning another shiny metallic (yes, I'm an Atari magpie) Imagic box is just too much to resist! As for a limited release, why limit it to only 50 or 100? I don't mind paying a reasonable price ($40 - $50) for these titles, but perhaps more along the lines of 200 or 250 as per Combat II etc. so enough of these copies are available? I can appreciate the 'buzz' aspect of a rare title but I would really have liked a copy of Cubicolor too and 200 copies of a game worldwide still appears to make very rare indeed! If folks are willing to pay for the game, special ed. or no, then I think that you're entitled to make a bit of cash from it. -
Thanks PB!! It's just fun to make new labels

Got a bit bored & re-hashed an old image of mine and then did a new one. Anyone else done any nice label pix?

I'll go with 6 then.

Circus Atari & Kaboom! are enduring fave’s of mine. Other stuff I’m really into right now are Video Checkers, Beamrider & Sky Jinks (again)
-
I'm not surprised that I missed that, mention satin panties & my erm.. concentration just seems err.. to dissolve....

Gee Punkoffgirl...I can think of several ways to make things messy again... Goodness me! I don't think that I'm going to get any work done today! I'm guessing 8 carts?

I've played Keystone Kapers several times when a single game has lasted some 3 hours+, getting scores of 300K and above takes a good long while. Berzerk & Snoopy are like this too, just keep playing the same game for hours racking up big scores. Dark Chambers is another example of long, single-game sessions. For games that I can never get bored of, I really like Sky Jinks & Frogger - nice & simple!

I have no idea if someone else has suggested this, so apologies if I'm dragging an old suggestion back into play, but would it be possible to have a forum (?) where members could post & update their cart collections? I could well imagine that this would take up a lot of room & not being much of a programmer myself, I have no idea what sort of administrative and/or technical difficulties this would pose and might well make this a complete non-starter - I'm sparing a thought for the Al's here! But after browsing through trading post, it occurred to me that it would be really interesting to see what everyone owned - if they wanted to post their collection list. On rather less secure ground, could something like this be of help in obtaining more accurate rarity grades of titles? Just a suggestion or enquiry of how feasible this might be & how much interest it might generate from the members. Boomshanka!

Methinks Circus Atari????

I can hardly wait for March next year - I've got my flight booked & can buy my pass in a couple of days too See you all there!

I think that I'm getting my vintages mixed up here! The subtle appearance & aroma is more like Haunted House?

I've very rarely played any card games at all, let alone Bridge but I really enjoyed Acti's version of this. It does take some getting used to but it really is a worthwhile game & pretty hard to beat. Anyone who doesn't like this game, give it another try! Same goes for Checkers too - this is an excellent game, really tough & challenging to win even on the easy level. Space Shuttle is very involved but another excellent game. My vote for worst Activision title - Boxing It's not that its a really bad game, just relatively less interesting than the others. Rampage is a bit dull too. Unsung hero from Activision - Oink! Excellent in 2-player mode of pig vs. wolf

Hmm.... *sniffs image* Backgammon?

I was just searching for a PAL-NTSC convertor when I came across this article http://www.gyruss.demon.co.uk/ccnuk/compat.html Does anyone have any more info about the PAL 5200 & 3 game protos? I noticed one 'Russ Perry Jr' as a contributor
