I didn't get mine until 1980 (I was 8 ) & played up until '85. I even sold off a bunch of my boxed carts  Didn't pick it back up until '96.

How can anyone be sad if they have HERO & Pitfall II (you need Frostbite too!)
-
I just hurl my copies of it outside (into the garden) to make room for those cases of Charlie Brown, Hulk & Pink Panther carts & accompanying promo boxes.

I still can't change anything in my profile (I've tried several times with the new avatar) & I'm recieveing notification of topic replies like crazy. Any ideas or am I just a PC jinx?

I always found the SQ series intruiging - not to play (I'm as lost as anyone) but as a concept it was great. Shame about the actual games!

Question is: How did someone smuggle out the loaner? Wing War (7) is my rarest title, also have a sealed Subterranea (6) and a loose Snoopy (5). Don't know what the ratings for PAL Xenophobe & KLAX! are.

Thanks Jeffy!

Do the trees & houses count towards the games that have to be identified?

At the mo' I only collect 2600 titles, got 198 different ones, 110 boxed/complete

The 'Quest' is run by Atari Age's very own Liquid_Sky

Thanks for that Nukey! *rubs hands with glee* I'll have a try with that tonight.

Special screen? Is this an EE of some sort? Space Shuttle is a great game that's getting better by the minute!

At last! I've just got my first copy of Activision's Space Shuttle. It's been one of those titles I'd always wanted as a kid & never owned until now. It's hard to believe that such an excellent and unusual game exists for the 2600. No blasting vast alien armadas - this is a highly atmospheric sim with a surprising complexity to it. Just playing this brings back those heady days of the first shuttle missions. Have I just had too much caffiene or has anyone else found Space Shuttle really addictive to play?

Dammit! I hate limited release editions I understand that manufacturers will not want to be out of pocket but still - 200 or so copies world wide is tiny amount

Those are really outstanding Krytol! The Atari Babe is inspired!!

I know the topic of Sky Patrol has cropped up several times already but has anyone else played it enough to find the little artillery men shooting, the tanks & what looks like a factory? I don't know if any of the collisions are being registered. I flew the balloon through the artillery flak several times unscathed - no idea if that was intentional or not. Anyone else got some discoveries with this one?

Actiplaque is likely caused by a combination of things; exposure to moisture & oxygen seems most probable as both will penetrate paper and react with the glue. Glues have some similar characteristics to things such as soft contact lenses, which are oxygen permeable and can absorb water, changing some of the properties of the glue - like it's crystal structure, size and solubility. Some of these reactions are irreversible which would explain why Actiplaque remains. A sealed box has a pretty stable environment with very marginal (if any) sort of exchange of gasses between the inside of the box & the external surroundings. Other contributory factors could include heat and light, the former will evaporate some of the moisture in the glue & paper allowing the glue to seep more deeply into the label - a bit like paper chromatography. Just some ideas.

Laser Blast isn't so bad! Just compare it to something like Sorcerer
-
It's got to be HERO, Frostbite & Kaboom! Perhaps Frostbite just wins by a whisker? I can't actually think of a bad Acti title. There were a few that were pretty mediocre but no actual bad ones.

Did Ladybug ever come out for the Atari 2600?
Osmeroid replied to BatmiteReturns's topic in Atari 2600
Sorry to say but I have a Coleco cart catalogue that shows that LB was never released for the 2600 Would you like me to scan this to you Al? [ 06-01-2002: Message edited by: osmeroid ] -
Wow! Looking forward to that one Stan. Private Eye is one of those games that I struggle with. Totally agree with you Steve, although as good as Road Runner is, I think that BB is better still.

I have a few games I've been really wanting to play, but they have the shrink wrap, I'm having an internal struggle.. The most noteable games are Road Runner and Private Eye. Road Runner Especially. Do it Joel!!! Pitbull has the right of it! I recieved my copy of Private Eye still sealed - I am so glad that I opened it, superb game. Road Runner has ol' Bob Palaro's smooth graphical feel to it, another great title!

He-hee! It is fun to open 'em. You should let out your inner child! I found a green catalogue in my Asteroids box. Also the manual is of the large/white variety but is written in English only and doesn't display the game variations. I've still got a sealed copy of Warlords, sometimes the temptation proves almost too much!
