Was that the Ewok Adventure box auction Pitbull?
I bid $23 on that & was immediately outbid for it. Pricey cardboard indeed!!!
BTW Marco - do you have a closer pic of the Frog Pond box? I'm writing a manual for it & the pic would really round it off

Why aren't you writing comedy Stan? Assorted variations on this line have already become an established part of departmental linguistics here.

I've got to say abig "congrats" to both Thomas & Jah - The labels etc. look fantastic for an already excellent game.
Top marks guys!

Hey Skatepunk,
I will mail you the newest list of PAL releases tomorrow.
BTW, I have seen several copies of Pac Kong on eBay UK just recently. Just FYI.
-
Hey Noble, let me know if you have need of a few common-ish ones, I don't have a copy of commando as yet....
-
That is a FINE avatar 10KVGhost!

Someone got a 5.51 on Dragtser?!
I was feeling quite pleased with myself getting 5.97 - until Liveinabin thrashed everyone here with 5.74.
Damn.
-
Pressure Cooker is much trickier on an emulator, I have no digi-cam to record my console scores.... not that I can get 150, 000
-
I can really relate to your comments Chris. My one true release during the day is to hop on board here.
It's great to meet Atari geeks worldwide and I completely agree with you about the folks here. So many people are not only helpful and generous but great fun & really engaging - they all have something to offer whether it is Atari related or otherwise.
I think Dave has pretty much summed up my regard of the guys posting on this board here
BTW Perhaps we should do something about this? I have already begun saving to get to PC4 next year - anyone else going to come too? I also owe Cassidy a Guinness too!

I think it's the fact that a round on Dragster only takes a few seconds to play that has made it so popular - that and you always feel that you're SO close to beating you previous pb.
Can you imagine having Laser Blast on here?!?!? I think all most everyone could rack-up the 1,000,000 score on this and takes hours to get there.
Barnstorming & Sky Jinks would be worthy successors to Dragster.

I've just got my first copy of GB & started playing. Doing quite well when a block (always the second from left on the bottom row) starts flashing (yellow?) As soon as I use the fire button the screen goes black and nothing else happens! The only way to get it moving again is to switch the power off /on.
Anyone else had this problem? Can I cure it??
-
Good for youy Cassidy! Waiting to hear what the man has to say!

Dragster is all about throttle control - rev high, quickly off & into 1st, then back on the throttle, very quickly get into 4th and keep using the gear change to keep acceleration in the red. Leave the gears alone when your car is midway across the screen. Should be able to get a 6.10s - 6.20s time.
I've managed 5.97s a few times using this method.
Are you all in Liquid's new "Activision Quest"?
-
Yeah!
How about a complete copy of Ikari Warriors for £16 ($23) in mint condition?
-
You're really gonna' have Barnstorming in?
Could we also have Sky Jinks too? Using times from game 1 with ds in position 'A'.
I also think as a second round we should also include Keystone Kapers & Robot Tank along with Laser Blast (our next 5?)
I have an almost complete guide to Barnstorming too for getting times below 35s.
Was that your score Stan? I'll never make a cowboy....
-
Followed Stan's advice & got a 1690 score on my first attempt!!!! Thanks man!
For Dragster:-
Watch the countdown and get your revs into the red (start when counter reads "1")
Smoothly, but quickly get your car into 4th asap
Keep on the throttle, when changing gears just very briefly come off it but make sure that you don't blow your engine! Best to have your revs in the red as far but as safely as possible.
Once your car is in 4th. stay on the throttle & to keep up your revs, keep tapping the gear change, trying to maintain the revs well into the red. Once your car is about mid-way across the screen, leave the gear change alone. Should be able to get times of about 6.30s - 6.20s fairly easily.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for that Stan - practised a bit before reading the thread again, my Stampede scores were down to about 400!!!
I'll post off a new pb (hopefully) later today.
-
That's a shame, I'm sorry to hear that Tim.
The game looked damnded good too!
-
Top banana on the photos Al! It's good to be able to put a few more faces to names.
The pics of all those hand-helds....sweet!
-
Does anyone have a method for getting high scores on Stampede?
I can do Dragster & Spider Fighter (console or emulator) but I'm crap at Stampede on either - pb of about 1200
Need more people to enter "Quest II" Liquid has devised a terrific site & well worth a look & to participate in.
Can anyone do better than 200K+ on Seaquest?
Quest II - Top Scores for:-
Dragster
Stampede
Pressure Cooker
Spider Fighter
Seaquest
If anyone is interested, I will post a quick 'How to win' for Dragster.

Is it "Roll 'n' Bologna"?

I guess it all really depends, whether it is a loose cart or comes complete. Also if it is the rarer NTSC format of the game.
Last time I saw a complete copy of this selling on eBay (UK) it went for £56 (about US$80?)
Personally I would be hard pushed to spend half that amount - it's a good game but not that amazing.
If you don't mind PAL games, try eBay France, probably the most frequent source of Obelix carts I've seen to date.
