  1. Could be Moycon. If it is genuine it will probably involve something like this.... The bottom quarter of the screen filled in green, the rest is pale blue, pick your team (England) vs anyone else. The screen does not alter for six hours (the manual suggests consuming beer and sandwiches). After six hours of nothing happening, the screen will flash the message *England lost* and the game ends.
  2. I came across this odd-ball on eBay (UK) this morning - anyone else ever come across this game before? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...item=1347807471
  3. Forgot one - Cosmic Commuter, although that shouldn't cause too many problems (plenty of black). Do you find that what should be green turns out a sort of blue?
  4. Hmm, I can think of a few.... 1. Dolphin (I have this and the ocean is red!) 2. Quadrun 3. Crazy Climber 4. Montezuma's Revenge 5. Track & Field 6. Krull 7. Video Cube 8. Gremlins 9. Fathom 10. Strawberry Shortcake (J/K!) There are a few others that were NTSC releases, such as Taz, Crackpots and RS Baseball but all of these titles appear to work equally as well on PAL - no bizzare colours, unlike Dolphin & the Dread Sea of Blood WA-HAHAHAAARGH!!!

  6. Pics of the box front panel and the manual with game info should be available at www.atarinvader.com fairly soon.
  7. quote: Originally posted by liveinabin: Crack-pots? Activision? Whoah, I've never heard of it! Here I am trying to get all the Activision titles and that one slipped me by. Is it one of the later titles? To the best of knowledge, it was never released in PAL format (although my very dodgy memory still insists that I saw it in a Beatties store back home and once in Walsall). I think it has the code AX-029, so around about the time of Robot Tank, Decathlon and Space Shuttle '83 or '84-ish.
  8. At last!!! I've got my grubby paws on a copy of Crackpots!!! What a great game, a real classic from Activision, sadly though, I suck at playing it - top score of 22K. Anyone else play this little beauty often?
  9. It comes down to a choice of two - and both are Activision titles Frostbite & HERO How could I choose between them?
  10. I totally agree with Stan, this is one of the very best 2600 games available and play it regulalry (can get 130K score at best). I just got my boxed copy of this title a couple of weeks ago (I have 2 loose carts of it). What a game, yes indeed!!
  11. Following on from Dragster best times, whats yer best time at Barnstorming (game 1)? I can manage an heroic 33.54s
  12. Hmmm... was there a Dragster 'Safe Driver' badge? My best time is 6.74s. I think that I'll stick to Barnstorming (can do game 1 in 33.54s.
  13. I think it's the "ouch" that really makes this game
  14. Thanks Dan, I had no idea what VSS was! I will give it try tonight.
  15. I have copies of Stella & PCAE for the 2600 - but does anyone know if there is a 5200 emulator for the PC? I'm curious about this system as the 5200 was apparently never released in UK/Europe and I'd like to see what it is capable of.
  16. Hey G2G, send me a list of the UK/PAL 2600 stuff you are after & I will try to help you out
  17. I've got it! "Stone the crows" Apparently it was as a reference to the ravens in the Tower Of London, associated with the old story that if they all left, that all of England would fall. Mistaken for crows, the enemies of England sought to drive them away. Also used occasionally in parts of Australia and New Zeland.
  18. quote: Originally posted by tiggerthehun: Osmeroid - "Stone the crows" - I know that's a statement of disbelief used mostly in England - I first heard it in "Joseph and the Amazing Tech. Dreamcoat", where Pharoh said "Stone the crows, this Joseph is a clever kid". I recently heard it when that English fellow won for best supporting actor. Do you know it's origins? Why "stone the crows"? I don't get it... Any insight would be appreciated... And yes, I get that it has nothing to do with the crows smoking a joint. Hey Tigger, so far, this is the best that I could do Stone the crows!, also Stone me!(v) :(used to express, surprise, disbelief, etc.) I don't believe it/you!. I will let you know if I actually find out anything about the origins of this phrase. Possibly something to do with warding off crows from arable land? Little site with Ye Olde English & American phrases origins... http://www.rootsweb.com/~genepool/sayings.htm

  20. Blimey!! Stone the crows!!! That makes me a pretty normal sort of age (I'm sure Moycon will back me up here) having just topped the big 3-0 this year. Actually, I always thought of Stan being older than me... sheesh! Noble Kale, you have no right being so young! I thought that you were well into to your twenties. BTW, happy (soon to be)19th matey!
  21. If your interested in getting your hands on a copy of this fairly cheaply, there is normally one or two copies of this available every month on ebay.uk
  22. Well, if there is a PhillyClassic 4 next year, I will be there. I have already started to save-up so hopefully I will see many of you guys in 2003

    Fatal Run

Not a bad game, but collecting the extra stuff from the road-side can be a real pain in the arse. If you can reach a point where your car is pretty much on best everything, you can just keep going on into the game, don't worry about other vehichles, just reach the cities asap.
