Just got gouged with a $432 electric bill. This because our electric companykeeps raising rates and only gives an actual read of the meters once every three months now. This keeps up with the hours getting cut at work and my collecting days are over.

  Wow! That's more than we'd spend in three months! Can't they just download usage data once a month from their smart meters?

  So that's a bill for 3 moths? That breaks out to $144 a month, not sure how many people you live with -- if that includes heat, it sounds right to me. Cable was my biggest bill BITD. Still sucks to hear that.

  I just paid $350 for my electric for December. (My oil furnace broke so I'm using electric heat). It's still cheaper than oil so I'm not complaining.... yet.
